  2. I'm writing this all down because these are memories I want to keep, and while it's doubtful that I will forget them, I'd like to keep reminders.
  3. 2.
  4. It's 3AM the day after I returned from Hawaii and unfortunately I brought more questions back with me than answers. Every day I spent with you was excellent, I would not trade that time for anything. I remember picking sweet guava from a tree as we walked to the golf course, hoping to purchase some spam musubi, which they were unfortunately out of. I remember your embarassed scolding as I walked in a silly way beside you, heading toward McDonald's, where we picked up 10 pieces of chicken and an unlimited beverage. I remember the tears in your eyes as you layed there thinking of how I'd have to leave.
  5. 3.
  6. I remember hearing your popping noises as I'd walk beside you, holding your tiny hand, with sparkling blue fingernails. I remember your big brown eyes looking up at me every time I looked down at you. I remember sadly how I attempted a piggy back ride, how you screamed in my ear, how I shoved your head, and how mad you were about it. I remember singing "Don't Stop Believing" with you as we walked home. I remember getting kicked off the bench in front of WalMart because we were loitering and how you cut my hair there. I remember sitting in the grass afterward, just talking and staring at you.
  7. 4.
  8. I remember how I'd crack your back by hugging you just a bit too hard. I remember the irritated lady at subway who couldn't believe her son ate her sandwich. "Bitches don't know bout my sandwich," and we both cracked up, you spitting your Dr. Pepper out all over your sandwich wrapper. I remember our first kiss, sitting across from one another with our legs crossed. My heart had never beaten so fast! I remember meeting you for the first time. I was wearing my blazer, drenched in sweat, and out of breath from running up the road to you. I remember the walk to your house, hoq qw both commented on the other's size.
  9. 5.
  10. The dusk hid your beautiful face, but you were revealed in the warm glow of the lamps in your loft. I remember offering you flowers, and your polite declination. I remember your sniffles as the spices in your grandmother's spicy catfish and shrimp took effect. I remember each bus ride, the views from the bus windows, the old men chomping and your imitations of them. I remember the talks of unsecured wheelchairs, the taste of the shaved ice in north shore, the flies at our feet as we ate, my gratitude for your suggestion of spending the extra quarter for the green plastic cupholders. I remember your laughter, the great quantities in which it came, as we watched Yes Man or Fight Club or talked about nothing at all.
  11. 6.
  12. I remember eating pho in chinatown, how the soup filled your bladder and how the security guard told us of the "secret" HPU restrooms, or rather, he "didn't". Your frequent urination has always amused me ;3. I remember holding hands as we jumped off Waimea rock, I remember your extreme fear of turtles, how you would hide behind me as any approached. I remember cleanning your sandy feet with napkins before we walked back to the bus. I remember swimming with you for hours in the military-only pool and the humor in the excessively cold shower afterward. I remember explaining the game of King of the Hill as we sat on Waimea rock and waited for the other swimmers to vacate the distant rocks.
  13. 7.
  14. I remember your shame at the dampness of my money, due to me swimming with my wallet. I remember the blurry cameras at the sears in ala moana, the rich douchebags as they walked by, and our comments on them. I remember many more things, but most of all, I remember you.
