- By leaving Route 103 after you have fought Bird Keeper Bryan, entering Westport, then reloading the route, Camper Ivan is, for some unknown reason, loaded facing down instead of his usual left, allowing us to skip him
- Ivan costs ~55s to fight, and has the potential to troll Cruize even more when outsped by either of his Diglett (normally requires 14DV and 13DV to outspeed)
- Deloading and reloading the route costs ~6.5s, for a total of ~48s of timesave
- However, if the runner hits either Irwin or Kim, Ivan's position will be reset, and he must be fought as normal
- Ivan normally gives 847 experience, so skipping him can affect levels at various points, depending on when the Rare Candy is used

EXPERIENCE EFFECTS - CRUIZE
- The Cruize route aims to candy from L44 -> L45 immediately after Okera (assuming no spinners), in order to improve Surf ranges in Stand City Hideout
- Skipping Ivan leaves Cruize short of L44 at this point, but luckily the very first Grunt in the hideout can be fought, and then the player can candy
- This still could affect later levels, so it is worth looking into
- Relevant level differences
	> L26 instead of L27 for Rival 3 Petamole
	> L30 instead of L31 for Morty's Gengar
	> L31 (Aquallo) instead of L32 (Aquarius) for Calvin's Kangaskhan
	> L38 instead of L39 for Toby's Dodrio
	> L39 instead of L40 for Brad's Seel 1
	> L40 instead of L41 for Pryce's Warwolf
	> L43 instead of L44 after Okera
- If candy after Hideout Grunt 1:
	> L45 instead of L46 for Hideout Grunt 3's Weezing
	> L46 instead of L47 for Hideout Grunt 5's Grimer and Muk
	> L47 instead of L48 for Imposter Oak 2's Ivysaur
	> L50 instead of L51 for Radio Grunt 5's Tuhead and Tauros
	> L54 instead of L55 for Dean's Psyduck
	> Lategame through Kanto gym is the same, allowing the second candy just before Lorelei as usual
- This candy strat seems much worse than standard strats (with Ivan), and could amount to more average timeloss than Ivan skip saves
- Therefore, it may be best to reserve the strat for runs where spinners have already been hit, so that their experience can be used instead of Ivan's to allow for the standard candy strat after Okera; this requires 396 experience
- Spinners before Route 103:
	> Medium Grace (274 exp; 122 short)
	> Sage Jeffrey (193 exp; 203 short)
	> Sage Li (342 exp; 54 short)
	> Bug Catcher Benny (819 exp)
- Combined with the experience gained from the encounter you must kill to get L17 for Schoolboy Alan, Li will always get you enough exp and Grace sometimes will depending on what encounter is killed (Gastly or Kurstraw in Brass Tower, for example)
- Any combination of two spinners will give enough

STAT REQUIREMENTS
- Less than 12DV special is not advised, due to much inferior ranges in the hideout/radio tower, but specifically due to a 67% +1 Surf range on Morty's Gengar (improved to 82% from 12DV)
- Speed benchmarks change slightly, but the most important ones are unaffected (still outspeed Morty's Gengar at +1 with any runnable speed)
- Physical ranges are basically unaffected except Rival 3 Petamole and Dean's Psyduck; in the former case, even the best attack should go for +4 if you won't reach L27 for Petamole (82xp short without Ivan and not including encounters)


ALTERNATIVE CANDY STRATS - CRUIZE
- With Ivan, candying after Okera from L44 -> L45 gains 5448, wastes 447
- Potential alternatives:
	> L41 -> L42 after Pryce (gains 3672; wastes 1383)
	> L42 -> L43 after Rival 4 (gains 3019; wastes 2309)
	> L44 -> L45 after Hideout Grunt 1 (gains 4291; wastes 1604)
