- Waku Motohama raps on the door with a quick series of taps. Underneath her other arm is a folder full of papers, and while she's smiling, there's something about it that's... strained.
- Markus Aerilius sat toiling away at paperwork he was nearly caught all up!
- Markus Aerilius: "Come in"
- Waku Motohama enters, then offers him a quick bow. "Good evening, sir!"
- Markus Aerilius nods and welcomes waku. "My squire what can i help you with today?"
- Waku Motohama: Normally I'd ask how you are and check on your general health before diving into things, but I've had quite a busy day and I don't want to take up too much of your time! So... first of all, I convinced E'ko to stop turning the airship into a weapon of mass destruction. Two, I have some ideas that I hammered out with Tarva about evacuation protocols if things go very, very badly. And three - I, ah... conducted an investigation on the Swords. I ah...
- Waku Motohama manages to keep her smile on somehow. "...I can't say I liked what I found very much."
- Markus Aerilius frowned a bit and shook his head. "No I apprieciate your brevity. Its good you found out both of those things. Now tell me about the Swords?" he waited for the worst.
- Waku Motohama shifts, nodding. "Okay. I'll start with our guest. Fallax."
- Markus Aerilius: "Good, what news do you have."
- Waku Motohama: There are three things he is very distinctly known for. One - like any good Inquisitor, he's completely devoted to his cause. Two, he's really good at convincing people to do what he wants. He's got a lot of... presence, I'd guess you say. Charisma? Some kind of werid variation on that. And three -
- Waku Motohama: He's totally ruthless.
- Waku Motohama: Like.
- Waku Motohama: In the pursuit of rooting out evil, he would definitely slaughter anyone in his path. He's... that kinda guy.
- Markus Aerilius: "Oh dear and our staff went to visit "HIM"." He furrowed his brow in worry. He did not like what he was hearing
- Waku Motohama clears her throat. "Um. That's not all..."
- Markus Aerilius: "Please continue"
- Waku Motohama: So... in my career, it's normal for there to be certain things you can't find out. There are also certain things that, if you can't find them, are really, really weird.
- Waku Motohama: Before Fallax joined the Swords, I can find out nothing about him.
- Waku Motohama: Like he didn't exist.
- Markus Aerilius: "Thats disconcerting." He shook his head in further disbelief at the man.
- Waku Motohama: There aren't even any records of him existing in the Inquisitors of the Astral Light - like... he didn't join the main organization and become part of the Swords, he just /materialized/ the day he joined the Swords. And, uh, well, er...
- Waku Motohama: ...He's not the only one.
- Waku Motohama: That's like that, I mean.
- Waku Motohama: It's not just him.
- Markus Aerilius: "What are you saying the whole of the swords is a bunch of dead men?"
- Waku Motohama: It seems like almost every member of the Swords of Salvation have /no history/ before the day they joined.
- Waku Motohama: No, Sir Markus. Dead men have mothers, sisters, brothers, wives - childhoods. Hometowns. These are men that /I can find no record of/ before their allegiance to the Swords.
- Waku Motohama: And you do not /stop/ being a member of the Swords. There is no record of /anyone/ quitting.
- Markus Aerilius frowned and rubbed his temples. "We need to alert astrid as well." he was shocked.
- Waku Motohama nods firmly. "I cannot establish how much I do not like this. I stopped investigating and came back at about that point because I was... nervous."
- Markus Aerilius: "Aye you were wise to return. Who all knows that you know this information?"
- Waku Motohama: Only you. I came straight here. When I was asking questions, I was using a cover story about doing research for a book.
- Markus Aerilius: "You werent followed?"
- Waku Motohama: To my knowledge, no. I used every trick I know to prevent that. But I am also not arrogant enough to say that it is not out of the question.
- Waku Motohama shifts uncomfortably. There seems to be something she doesn't quite know how to talk about, but she's got to say it regardless. "Markus... you said Sigmund was a member of the Swords of Salvation, yes...? How, um. How well... do you know him?"
- Markus Aerilius: "That I cannot confirm. I know hes part of some group in the flames but I am uncertain if it is the Swords. I cannot recall."
- Waku Motohama nods, clearly troubled and not sure what to think at the moment. "...I'm pretty worried now about tomorrow, given this new information."
- Markus Aerilius: "Relay your report to Astrid and say nothing of this to any other. We are prepared for a fight but do not want to cause panic or have someone jump the gun."
- F'ennelise Tkhar: brb quic, dont RP too much without m E ))
- Waku Motohama nods firmly, then pauses before continuing. She sets the file underneath her arm down on Markus' desk. "Tarva and I came up with the basics of a plan to - if things go... really sour - evacuate everyone to the company workshop. Not only are there advanced magitech weapons in there, but there's also various vehicles that can be used to escape."
- Markus Aerilius takes the folder and looks it over. "Good work, its wise in this tenuous situation to have back up plans."
- Waku Motohama nods. Then, "Should I report to Miss Astrid now?"
- Markus Aerilius: "Aye that would be wise. I do not know where she is. Perhaps check her room or hollar on the Linkshell."
- Waku Motohama gives Markus a snappy salute. "Roger that. Any other orders for me? Do you have any other avenues of inquiry you'd like me to pursue? I didn't sleep last night so I have to sleep tonight, but I can also perform some tasks tomorrow morning."
- Markus Aerilius: "Only that you did good work and that I should feed you your favorite meal should we survive tomorrow."
- Waku Motohama pauses - how odd, usually she's so bold! - and then finally offers Markus a gentle, non-forced smile. "...Could you... prepare me some cuisine from Doma?"
- Waku Motohama: ...It's been so long.
- Waku Motohama: Since I had food from home...
- Markus Aerilius: "Its my specialty! I will wine and dine you til you burst."
- Waku Motohama giggles. "I'll be sure to stay alive just for that, then!"
- Waku Motohama gives him a wave and a bow before going off to find Astrid.
- Markus Aerilius: "Promise me youll be safe tomorrow eve. I dont want you fighting."
- Waku Motohama stops midstep, looking over her shoulder. "Does that mean you don't want me to be present? If I have to defend myself, I don't see another option... Its not like I could let people get hurt in front of me without trying to do anything at all."
- Markus Aerilius: "I just want you to be safe but i think its important that you are there. you may gleam important information. Stay close to the others. They will protect you."
- Waku Motohama mulls this over. Then - "For your sake, I'll prioritize my safety as much as possible, Sir Markus."
- Markus Aerilius nods and returns to his paperwork. "Thank you Waku."
- Waku Motohama smiles to herself, offers another brisk salute, then departs.
- Markus Aerilius ponders to himself. "This is not good."
