  1. Martian Luther King Jr. was born on January 15th, 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia. His birth name was 'Michael Luther King, but he decided to change his name to 'Martain Luther King Jr'. He grew in in Atlanta, Georgia with his family. He followed his fathers footsteps and acted as a pastor in a church during his childhood. In 1953, king married Coretta Scott and had four children with her.

  3. During his childhood, Martian Luther King attended many different schools. He attended Booker T. Washington High School and entered Moorehouse College at the young age of 15, after having skipped the ninth and twelve grades. He graduated with a bachelors degree in sociology at Moorehouse College. King then enrolled in Crozer Theological Seminary in Chester, Pennsylvanin, where he earned a bachalor in divintiy degree. King became a spokesman for racial equality and civil/human rights for all people, black or white.

  5. During the 50's, segregation was quite common between 'white' people and 'black' people. This included laws that prevented anyone with 'dark' skin to do thing that 'white' people were allowed to do. Black people were not allowed to use 'white people drinking fountains' and had to stand for white people on the bus, or be taken into custody. On March, 1955, a 15 year old girl who was pregnant was arrested for refusing to move from her seat in a bus for a white man. This didn't cause too much controversy, but later that year in December. A black woman called 'Rosa Parks' refused to move for a white man and was arrested. This caused a mass amount of controversy and Martian Luther King began campaigning and speaking out against the segregation of black and white people. One of his most famous speeches was the 'I have a dream' speech.

  7. On August 28th, 1963, in Washington D.C, at the Abraham Lincoln memorial site. Martian Luther King performed his most famous speech 'I had A dream'. This speech was a speech in which Martian Luther King demanded racial equality and for every human being to be treated with respect, and not judged by the colour of their skin. This speech cause controversy for both sides of the argument. Many hated Martian for his speech, and was attacked by opposers of his ideas. The speech did have a positive impact for most people, and is even rated the best speech given to date.King began the speech by mentioning and commending Abraham Lincoln on signing the Emancipation Proclamation in the past. In the speech, King used repetition in a lot of his topics to enhance the message that he is attempting deliver with his speech, saying "I have a dream" many times throughout his speech. People reacted the the speech in a powerful way, Kings house was bombed and many people hated him.

  9. At 6.01PM, April 4th, 1968. Martian Luther King was assassinated. King was standing on his hotel room balcony at the Loraine Motel, Memphis when he was shot by a 30. Remington 760. The bullet initially penetrated his cheek, and broke his jaw and many vertebrate as it traveled down his spinal chord. People inside the hotel room heard the shot and ran out to see King on the floor and bleeding with no pulse. They managed to stop the bleeding and get his pulse back, but at 7.05PM, he was declared dead by St. Joseph hospital. King had died at the young age of 39, but doctors who performed an autopsy discovered that he had the heart in the condition of a 60 year old man, this was either due to heart disease of the amount of stress that he was put under during his campaigning. King was not forgotten.

  11. On the third Monday of every year, America celebrate 'Martian Luther King Day' (Or MLK Day) to remember his influence on society today. It is on this day as it is close to the date of Kings birthday (January 15th). Each year we celebrate the life of Martian Luther King and how he influenced the change of racism.
