  1. Chis, I want to apologize for blocking you, It upsets me first that you slander God and second it upsets me that you have such a twisted view of God. I don't write to you to judge, insult or argue. I simply want to share with you how awesome God is, you truly are missing out on something wonderful, as I said Christianity is not a religion, it is about a relationship to God. Do you think when people pray that it is just us talking to God and that he never answers? No, we speak to God and he speaks to us, he speaks guidance, love and forgiveness. you seem to think he is some cruel, evil Judge. The reality is that he is a loving father, holy, pure and good.
  2. God did not create the world the way it is, he did not cause the suffering and pain that we see today that is a result of man rebelling against God. God made Adam and Eve and he put them in charge of the perfect world he had made, Satan who had rebelled against God with 1/3 of the angels came and tricked Eve into doing the one thing that God forbade, without a choice love is not genuine, God created us to be his family, he simply wants to love us and have a relationship with us. When Adam and Eve sinned they gave their authority to Satan, so for a short time he is the ruler of this world. all the things that you were claiming God made the world, like death and disease and suffering were a result of sin entering the world. But God had a plan to save and fix His creation. You used the flood as evidence that God is evil, but it was man that was evil, you have to understand that God is intimately acted to us, he hears our thoughts and sees everything we do, he is Holy and pure, but man was killing each other, raping children and animals, their thoughts were continually evil and offensive to God. He regretted making man, of all creation we were the only thing that wasn't good. .God gave them many warnings and chances to repent and change their ways but still they rebelled and continued to live in evil. Only Noah and his family followed God so he saved them in an effort to start over. through Noah's family God had a plan to deal with the issue of sin. He chose a family to become His chosen people, the Jews, you say context doesn't matter but i9t is everything, when I first read about God telling the Jews to wipe out everyone in a city, I thought the same as you that it was horrible even evil. I was talking to a friend about it so I researched it I found out that these people were throwing their babies in furnaces, sacrificing their children, incest, beastiality, murder, rape, cannibalism, and worshiping demons. since God loves us he has to do what is best for the greater good, if he had allowed them to continue millions of people would have been corrupted, the effects would still be seen today if they didn't wipe themselves out. you mentioned scripture that talked about killing drunkards and disobedient children or something. you have to understand in those days they didn't have prisons, rehab, police forces, probation, DV classes and therapists, they had to think of the good of their families, someone whop was lazy, drunken, abusive was nothing but a drain on their whole family and society, if they were to continue in that behavior it could have led to death for the whole family, the effects of their abuse could be felt for generations to come. I think your skewed perceptions of what the bible says is due to taking verses and applying a meaning that is not intended, much like if you saw a couple fighting in the store and the husband says something terrible to his wife, you might conclude that he is a terrible man and husband, but when you look at his behavior over a whole week you see that he is kind and hardworking and loves his wife greatly, but if you were to just look at that one incident your perception becomes skewed. The bible is the same way, it tells the truth, good , bad, and ugly. there are things in there that are about evil but not to condone it but to teach us the difference between good and evil. when it talks about servants and slaves it is simply dealing with the reality of the culture and society in which they lived, but God gave them a different standard of how to treat their servants. you need to understand the difference between those who believe and those who do not. those who don't follow God are enemies, they are focused only on the sinful nature that is present within us as a result of rebellion against God. like I said context does matter if I were to say the USA destroyed the Nazi's without telling the whole story it could be easy to say the US troops were evil, but when you look at the context and understand the actions of the Nazi's, then think of the impact that Germany would have on the entire world if they continued as they were you see that it was a good and necessary thing to stop them. you used the scripture that talks about sparing the rod spoils the child, parents discipline their children out of love, yes some are abusive but that is the nature of man, without disciplining your children they are in danger of even greater evil. for instance is it wrong to spank your children in an effort to keep them from running out in the street and being killed? That scripture is not talking about beating them but simply disciplining them. look at our society today , children are lazy, disobedient, parents get in trouble for disciplining their children and as a result they don't know what's right or wrong, look at our culture, we take God out of everything, you call good evil and evil good. we allow murder of babies, Gay marriage, the doctrines of demons to be openly taught. these things are wrong but that doesn't mean God or Christians hate the people that do them. God doesn't wish to punish anyone and he went to great lengths for us to be forgiven. we all sin but through Jesus we are forgiven and saved, not by worshipping God or bowing down to him, but simply by receiving the free gift of salvation through faith in Jesus. God loved us so much thyat he sent Jesus to pay the penalty that we were deserving of
