(Redux) Radio Dialogue

"Hey Madrigal," you say offhandedly, "is this a radio?"

"Uh," you amend, before she can do more than raise a finger, "I mean, this... is a radio."

Madrigal looks nonplussed. "Uh, yes, sure is."

You nod.

"Was there something you wanted to..."

"Does it work?" It comes out too fast.

"...Yes?"

"You're sure."

"I mean, it depends on if he's been maintaining it, I guess? They salt up pretty quick."

It's good enough for you. "Can I-- turn it on?"

Madrigal pinches the bridge of her nose. "No."

"Are you--" You steal a look at the radio. "Are you sure? It wouldn't hurt, right? It could be... important, you know--"

"The radio was a year before the Incident, Charlotte. It's not important."
