  2. Grobs are small, cowardly, and cunning creatures that are to be used in place of goblins, kobolds, and other such enemies.
  3. Hit Dice: 1
  4. Armor Class: As Leather Armor
  5. Attack: 1 (tiny fists)/ 1d4 Damage OR as weapon wielded.
  6. Saves: As Fighter 1
  7. Movement Rate: 9 (30 ft)

  9. All Grobs...
  10. -Hate light, and sunlight in particular.
  11. -Are cowardly, hateful, spiteful, and petty.
  12. -Have the mindset and rough intelligence of a rather cruel child.
  13. -Are never encountered alone.
  14. -Are between 2-4 feet tall and about 90-110 pounds.

  16. Roll 1d100 a few times (usually no more than two or three) to generate features unique to a certain group of Grobs.

  103. 87. Explode in sparks and embers when they die.
  104. 88. Head splits vertically, revealing hideous mouth.
  105. 89. Make crude equipment/structures out of saliva.
  106. 90. Bulged creaking joints.
  107. 91. Constantly heave and cough and gurgle.
  108. 92. Reek of acrid chemicals.
  109. 93. Useless insect wings.
  110. 94. Face resembles hairless dog's.
  111. 95. No legs, must hobble around on arms instead.
  112. 96. Compound eyes.
  113. 97. Teeth too large for mouth.
  114. 98. External brain.
  115. 99. No shadow.
  116. 100. Eery human face.

  118. Roll 1d20 once to determine the special attacks or features a group of Grobs might have.
  119. 1-10: No special abilities. The Grob must fight as it is.
  120. 11: Hard to hit. The Grob is either very nimble or durable. Its Armor Class is as Chainmail Armor.
  121. 12: Spew Acid. The Grob can launch a stream of caustic bile at a foe once per encounter. This attack can reach out to 30 feet and does 1d6 acid damage.
  122. 13: Arcane Ability. The Grob has an innate ability to cast one randomly determined Magic-User spell of 1st level. It may cast this spell once an encounter.
  123. 14: Death Frenzy. The Grob keeps fighting even after it has been fatally wounded. When it is reduced to 0 Hit Points it keeps fighting for 1d4 rounds afterwards.
  124. 15: Natural weapons. The Grob possesses vicious claws, razor spikes, or sharb blades of bone. Its normal non-weapon attacks deal 1d6 damage.
  125. 16: Quick and agile. The Grob is fast and light on its feet. It can climb on walls and ceilings as fast as it can walk, and its Movement Rate increases by 3.
  126. 17: Frightening. The Grob's appearance is horrendous, and the noises it makes only add to its terrifying potential. At the start of an encounter, if it is not surprised, the Grob can shriek. Players must make a Saving Throw vs Wands/Magic (whichever is appropriate) or take a -2 to all rolls during the encounter. Hirelings must make an immediete Morale roll.
  127. 18: Death Throes. The Grob is an unstable mess of natural chemicals and energies that are only kept in check by its life force. Should it be killed, it explodes violently, dealing 1d6 damage to everything withing 10 ft.
  128. 19: Vermin friend. The Grob can communicate with and train lowly creatures such as rats, spiders, cockroaches, or other such animals. It is always encountered with at least 1d8 of these animals, which follow its orders and protect their master to the best of their abilities.
  129. 20: Regeneration. The Grob's biology is relentless. It recovers 1 Hit Point every round, severed limbs grow back in an hour, and it may attatch any severed limbs to itself by holding it to its body. Any fire damage completely stops this regeneration for an hour.
