How to Set Up A ChromeCast

  1. After setting up your ChromeCast, to be able to enable the installation of third party apps; you’ll need to (like on any Android device) to turn on developer options.
  2. On this page; I’ll show you how to enable it, and other settings to turn on or off.

  5. 01.) Go to your settings by clicking on the cog in the top right, go to ‘System’ and click on ‘About’

  7. 02.) Scroll down to the bottom where it says ‘Android TV OS Build’ and click on it 7 times until it says “No need, you are already a developer.”

  9. 03.) Go back to settings and go to ‘Privacy’.
  10. From there; go over to ‘Usage and Diagnostics’ and turn it off.

  12. 04.) Do the same with ‘Ads’. If you have ‘Enable debug logging for ads’ turned on; promptly turn it off.

  14. Optional:
  15. If you don’t want a sound to play when scrolling; you can turn it off in settings by going to ‘Display & Sound’, going down to ‘System sounds’ and turning it off.

  18. If you want your device to feel faster; you can go back into ‘Developer options’ and either turn off or set the following options to .5x:

  20. •‘Window animation scale’
  21. •‘Transition animation scale’
  22. •‘Animator duration scale’
