some orlanna facts that will probably never come up

1) her real name isn't orlanna. she picked it off a shop sign she saw in a town she passed through, before that the circus gave her a "virtue name" (tumble) that was more of a stage name, and the name she was born with is just lost to time.

2) she found a wizard's spellbook in the trash after the circus did a show in a town with a small mage school. it had been thrown away because it was dirty and 'ruined', and the apprentice wizard was just going to get a new one, but she found it and used it to teach herself some (fairly basic) magic.

3) one of her parents is still alive and has been looking for her and is also an adventurer.

4) she's not really, really sure how old she is. she's pretty sure it's in the 17-20 range, but she's actually 19.

5) she was kidnapped when she was 4 and has no memories of her childhood before the circus.

6) the circus ringmaster liked to try to control and keep the performers from running by encouraging fear of the 'outside world', saying how much they would be mistreated by people, how hard it would be to live alone on the streets, how the circus was doing its best to keep them safe from these dangers whenever they stopped in some towns, etc, and this is one of the many sources of things like her anxiety and her inability to speak to people.

7) she got her weapons after a caravan she was traveling with was attacked by bandits, the guards fought them off and told her and the other two passengers that it could be dangerous like this outside of towns and cities, and that it wouldn't be a bad idea to learn how to defend yourself, and they offered to let them take any of the bandit's weapons and armor. orlanna went last because she was nervous, so the shortbow, dagger, rapier, and leather armor were all that were left.

8) all her personal belongings can fit in one average backpack, with room to spare.
