For the past six years, I've been hoping not to let my crap aura rub off on people like Kaguya. Recently, I celebrated the 10th anniversary of my career as a comic book artist. During these years, I started drawing weekly serials. The comic was turned into an animation and a live-action movie, and then I started a weekly serial. I've been married and divorced, sick and recovering, and a lot of things have really happened. The weekly serials were very hard. I always acted like I had something to do, but it was an illusion. I always thought, "Why don't I just quit and find a cheap place to live abroad? But no matter what, I still like comics. I'm afraid that in another 10 years, I'll still be drawing manga.

This work depicts various stories of miscommunication between men and women. The next "Kaguya Hime" will probably no longer be a story about a man and a woman in love that can be seen everywhere. It will become the story of people like "Kaguya" and "Shirayoshi". I do not know if it is right to create such a story. This is the result of my characters acting on their own. So I want to stand in the reader's viewpoint and guard them silently. I hope that they will continue to sprint to the end, as they have done so far. Let them do what they want.
