  1. [18:29] Ardith nods once loosely to Kyla. She skirts around her Sirenian compatriot and approaches the temple and the mossy serpent both. Probably for a better look at the latter.
  2. (Ardith)
  3. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  4.
  5. [18:30] Arkgvunde rustles in idle. They don't appear to be paying attention.
  6. (Arkgvunde Vel'heim)
  7. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  8.
  9. [18:30] Tototl is rubbing a tired eye. Spirits, he needed more sleep.
  10. (Tototl)
  11. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  12.
  13. [18:32] It's not very obvious what the young magi is doing. Gods, she's probably not even very sure herself, but as she approaches the demon in question a little stirring of occultic wind dances around her feet. She shivers.
  14.
  15. Curiosity drives her closer. She stretches out a gloved hand, an attempt to touch it. Without even asking. How rude...
  16. (Ardith)
  17. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  18.
  19. [18:35] ichimaga
  20. (Alowhoc)
  21. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  22.
  23. [18:35] Arkgvunde is kinda just...
  24.
  25. ...standing there. Menacingly, or something.
  26.
  27. The Demon is rather oblivious at the moment, not physically resisting Ardith, their mind pre-occupied and wandering elsewhere. Unfortunately for Ardith, Nature's Folly has a short-range aura of Life Drain and Nature-based life-force manipulation. It hurts to be in such close contact to something as old, as wisened, as talented as this particular Demon.
  28. (Arkgvunde Vel'heim)
  29. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  30.
  31. [18:39] It feels...different. That much she can be sure of. When she reaches out to press her hand against the demon there is a deceptively deep presence of the occult.
  32.
  33. Being near him hurts, and she flinches. Once she gets a taste of the creatures magic she tugs her fingers away.
  34.
  35. There's soft tittering from beneath the hood as her shoulders shake.
  36. (Ardith)
  37. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  38.
  39. [18:42] When Ardith at last emitted some kind of sound, the Ark's attention returned to the square, to Ardith and everyone at large in the usual situational awareness system that people tend to have. The Demon looked down inquisitively at Ardith a moment after they're touched and said,
  40.
  41. "Please don't do that. I'm toxic."
  42.
  43. Arkgvunde sounded off.
  44. (Arkgvunde Vel'heim)
  45. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  46.
  47. [18:44] There is a sense of indifference, as the lightning crawls and crackled. The beauty in the element could easily be as dangerous as it is captivating. What was a bolt of lightning, voltage, electricity, your very end in the flash of light? Something to fatal could be your very element of choice, oh fearless Sand Man.
  48. (Dario Hay-Sun)
  49. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  50.
  51. [18:46] The little tittering laughter doesn't stop immediately. It tapers off. She doesn't look directly up at the demon's eyes, but gives the being a cursory examination.
  52.
  53. "...Are there more of you here? Do you have a name?"
  54. (Ardith)
  55. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  56.
  57. [18:46] Kyla Vishkar says, "There are a few demons that live here."
  58. [18:47] Dario Hay-Sun says, "Hmm? Something is different about you...Or rather, your element, so impure."
  59. [18:47] Sigobriar asks, "Impure?"
  60. [18:47] Sigobriar says, "Are you one of those Elementalist purists? Heh."
  61. [18:48] Arkgvunde went on to say in a rather long-winded statement,
  62.
  63. "There are two other major sapient Demons in the Gehennan territories from time to time. They are Tih, the Ezmaran Warchief, and Nyx, the Cruxati Warchief."
  64.
  65. "I am Arkgvunde. The only currently active Nature Demon to most peoples' knowledge."
  66.
  67. The Demon is coiling and uncoiling on themselves in idle.
  68. (Arkgvunde Vel'heim)
  69. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  70.
  71. [18:50] There wasn't a moment that Dario had not thought, of how elements end up in the hands of the unfaithful. A warm flame, the soothing water, the calming winds and the sturdy earth. There was much debate on whetherm lightning could be considered an element of source, many say no, bu not Dario. Seeing such an element, impure as it would, Dario could not shrug it off where he stood. Or well...Floated...
  72.
  73. "I am not to be understanding your phrase, but the Elements should never be changed."
  74. (Dario Hay-Sun)
  75. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  76.
  77. [18:52] The hooded magi nods quickly, absorbing the tidbits of information the demon offered. Very long winded is this one. Two others in this place.
  78.
  79. "Do you know any demons anywhere else? Or talk to them?"
  80. (Ardith)
  81. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  82.
  83. [18:52] Arkgvunde Vel'heim says, "Most other Demons in their Kaor or earlier stages are of little to no concern to me, or are inactive."
  84. [18:53] Ardith says, "Kaor?..."
  85. [18:53] Arkgvunde Vel'heim says, "Kaor. Yes."
  86. [18:53] Ardith says, "I don't know that that is."
  87. [18:54] Arkgvunde Vel'heim says, "Demons follow a specific evolutionary pattern, and Kaor is the last naturally-occuring one."
  88. [18:54] Arkgvunde Vel'heim says, "It's the stage where we learn our most advanced magic type."
  89. [18:55] Ardith asks, "Naturally occuring?"
  90. [18:56] Sitting up from a relaxing hunched position, Sigobriar smirked at the man. Surely, they were an accomplished mage, if they had such faith in the elements. A thought crossing their mind, that they should remain 'pure', to the point of criticizing Sigobriar's own use of Holy magic.
  91.
  92. The man let out a booming laughter, clapping like lightning strikes, as his smirk turned into a grin. "I commend your dedication to your craft good sir! To see any blend of magics with the elements as, impure, you must truly dedicate yourself to their study! Have no fear, however! For my mana is simply touched by the Lifestream... A spirit, blessed as she was, saturated my circuits with the sensation, and awoke my Holy magics! Ever since, my Lightning has been changed, indeed, it is invigorating!", he grinned.
  93. (Sigobriar)
  94. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  95.
  96. [18:57] Arkgvunde Vel'heim says, "Agarthan Demons do have hidden forms they can unlock after Kaor, but they're irrelevant."
  97. [18:57] Arkgvunde Vel'heim says, "You see, the smallest ones in caves? Those are known as Lessers, Megas, and Gigas."
  98. [18:58] Ardith says, "Mhm...I've seen them."
  99. [18:58] Arkgvunde Vel'heim says, "Then they go on to be Elementals, and Kaors, all in that order."
  100. [18:58] Ardith once more nods, listening raptly, but her eyes? They are always moving. Constantly. "The ones after Kaor don't matter?"
  101. (Ardith)
  102. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  103.
  104. [18:58] Arkgvunde Vel'heim says, "The Demons that hit those stages have this irrational tendency to lock themselves away and hide, instead of advancing themselves."
  105. [18:58] Ardith asks, "...Really? Why?"
  106. [18:58] Arkgvunde Vel'heim says, "I've no idea. Perhaps it has something to do with our flawed state."
  107. [18:59] Ardith asks, "Flawed?"
  108. [19:00] Arkgvunde Vel'heim says, "Flawed. The Creator and the Divines supposedly ran out of power to make Demons properly from the get-go, so now, we're stuck like this."
  109. [19:01] Ardith says, "Huh..."
  110. [19:01] Listening for a while, oh did he ever, Jade hues look to the man with a lack of endeavor. This 'Lightning', it was impure and would be looked down upon if not more. Holy? Dark? Touched by them or not, to delve down this path and corrupt what is to what is now was something Dario could never understand.
  111.
  112. "I am not one to be carrying of spirits. I matters to me not, yes? It saddens me to see the elements in such a state-" a sudden pause, his eyes dart to the one speaking with the walking tree. He'd linger is a stare, before falling to the man again. "This lightning of yours, has depleted in quality, yes? Truly saddening, my friend."
  113. (Dario Hay-Sun)
  114. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  115.
  116. [19:02] Ardith asks, "You don't talk into my head...Why?"
  117. [19:02] Arkgvunde Vel'heim says, "I honestly grew out of that ability. It was a crutch in my youth that I leaned on too much."
  118. [19:04] Ardith frowns, beneath her hood her face scrunches.
  119.
  120. "...Are you saying only weak demons do it?"
  121. (Ardith)
  122. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  123.
  124. [19:04] Arkgvunde Vel'heim says, "... No. It's a little different depending on the Demon you ask."
  125. [19:04] Arkgvunde Vel'heim says, "Psionic powers still have a place in our repertoire."
  126. [19:05] More nodding. She understands less of the last few words Arkgvunde uses, but it doesn't matter a whole bunch. Then she remembers herself; the young magi bends low at the waist in a bow.
  127.
  128. "Ardith."
  129.
  130. No titles here. None at all.
  131. (Ardith)
  132. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  133.
  134. [19:06] Arkgvunde nodded to Ardith's dispersal of their identity, but did not offer a direct route of recourse back to the dialogue. Strange... The amalgam has been an entirely reactionary force in this conversation.
  135. (Arkgvunde Vel'heim)
  136. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
