"Are you sure?"  Steven asks with genuine concern in his voice.  "I mean, it didn't go so well last time"

Peridot hesitates just a moment before answering.  "Y-yes, I think this is the appropriate course of action.  I have thought about the flaws in our last plan and have adjusted my strategy accordingly."  Peridot takes a deep breath and turns towards the barn with Steven reluctantly following behind her.

Lapis sits alone in the mostly empty barn, it's dark except for where the sunlight shines in through the gaping hole in the side of the structure.  In front of her lies Peridot's broken tape recorder and one tape, Lapis stares at them silently.  She had been resistant to listening to the tape, going as far as smashing it recorder before she even had a chance to hear it.  Although she hated to admit it to herself she began to grow curious of it's contents.  Why did Peridot want to make peace with her to begin with?  She had been complicit in her role after all.  Forcefully bringing the gem back to the planet she had just escaped from despite her protests, a loyal unquestioning pawn through and through, and yet.. there Peridot was with the Crystal Gems.. with Steven.  How did that annoying coward go from loyal robotic drone to a member of the Crystal Gems.  Even after two days away from the others thinking about it still made her mad.  That wasn't the only thing bothering her, she may not trust a single person on this planet or have a home to go back to but she still couldn't shake a certain feeling that began to grow inside her, a feeling she didn't quite understand.

The door slowly starts to slide open, Lapis quickly scoops up the recorder and the tape and hides them in one of the few remaining piles of junk in the barn.  She sees Steven in the doorway, she flashes him a defiant glare.  "What do you want Steven?  Trying to get to join the Crystal Gems?  I said no."

"Well actually I'm just here for support"  Steven slides the door all the rest of the way, revealing a nervous Peridot.  "You need to let her say what she has to say Lapis, you can't just sit in this barn away from everyone and Peridot only wants to make things right with you.  Give her a chance."

Lapis glares at Peridot hatefully.  How annoying, now only is she parading around like a Crystal Gem she even has Steven on her side now.  Peridot lets out a nervous laugh and waves at Lapis.  "H-hello Lapis.  It's a very agreeable Earth rotation isn't it?"  Peridot says, trying her best to not to let on how terrified she was.

What made Lapis the most frustrated about Peridot is despite being an annoying coward, she was still kind of cute, and although she would never admit it to her or Steven she had wanted Peridot to come back to try to talk to her again.  "Fine Steven, I'll talk to Peridot."  she said in an annoyed tone, "but I want to talk to her alone."

Peridot and Steven turn to look at each other for a moment.  "Okay Lapis.. "  Steven responds reluctantly, "you will be okay by yourself right Peridot?"

Peridot gulps and stares a the floor, unsure if it's a good or bad sign that Lapis wants to talk to her alone.  "Y-yes Steven that would be perfectly agreeable, I can handle this by myself."

As soon as Steven is out of sight Lapis closes the barn door and grins, before turning her attention to the little gem.  Peridot stands in the light of the of the breach she herself made, smiling out of nervousness as Lapis comes up her, putting a blue hand firmly on her shoulder and kneeling down to stare directly into her eyes.  "Well, what did you come here to say?"

Peridot responds meekly.  "Well I just.."  Lapis's eyes narrow at her.  Peridot clears her throat and comes back with more resolve.  "I am here because I want to make things right with you and I'm willing to do whatever it takes!"

Lapis's expression softens, "Why are you so eager to do this?"

"Because, even if you hate me you still saved me, and we have more in common than you think.  Neither of us can ever go home, so we need to learn to live here."  Peridot answers enthusiastically.

Lapis closes her eyes.  "You said you would do anything right?"  She says softly before looking into Peridot's eyes.  Peridot nods and smiles back at her.  Lapis reaches up and caresses Peridot's cheek while just staring into her eyes for a moment, not saying a word causing Peridot to blush.  Suddenly Lapis thrusts her mouth onto Peridot's, kissing her passionately while holding her head.  Peridot gasps for a moment before putting her little hands on Lapis's hips and holding onto her firmly.
