  1. I've never quite known what my career path was, but always knew that I wanted to help either mankind or animals. After several years in the hospitality industry, I decided that the work I was doing wasn't quite big picture and ultimately decided to look into heading back to school for software development. I had once meddled with HTML/CSS for a few years in a marketing position and decided that becoming part of the team who manipulated data on the back end was the path for me. While I had always been a high-scoring student, Turing knocked me down a peg when I was told that I would be repeating the first module, but I'm grateful as it allowed me additional time to create a strong foundation to build on. As I'm learning more and more each day, I'm finding that I can be part of wonderful teams that manage databases used by Earth Insights, Conservation.io, Intel, etc. in order to monitor endangered species, protect the rainforest, and hopefully slow, and eventually reverse the effects of climate change. I'm excited to further my knowledge every day at Turing and every day after, alongside colleagues and mentors. I know that my small step onto the path that brought me to Turing is going to assist me in making my big difference in the world alongside other dreamers and doers.
