  28. [2014-02-15 20:09:41] <CrystalDM> 03As daylight falls, our adventurers find themselves back in the safe confines of Stable 41. But for how long will it remain safe? Someone has cloning technology and seems to have an urge to destroy the inhabitants of Stable 42.
  29. [2014-02-15 20:18:29] * Emerald_Blitz heaves a sigh of relief once everyone is safely inside the Stable once more. "Asami, let's get the resupply taken care of first," she suggests. "Then I have more research to do on our... cloned menaces."

  31. [2014-02-15 20:20:10] <CrystalDM> 03The atmosphere inside the building and Stable is tense, but that is broken apart by the laughter and frolicking of colts and fillies. Among the children and there mothers, there are very few stallions at the Stable that haven't had a debilitating injury or are currently healing. Missing eyes, amputees and other such injuries seem to be quite common.
  32. [2014-02-15 20:20:56] * Emerald_Blitz rolls her eyes. "I suppose no one is going to stop calling me that for the rest of my life," she says. "I may as well try and deserve it. Trip to the crystal palace to see if they've left a crown lying around?" she jokes as they head for the quartermaster.
  33. [2014-02-15 20:21:43] * Militus makes a beeline for the training area after bidding Kivuli adieu. There's time yet before dinner, and he might as well practice some old skills.
  34. [2014-02-15 20:23:46] * Clue practices magic until Feather Fall is finished her work, from then on she sticks close and enjoys her time together.

  41. [2014-02-15 20:27:21] <Emerald_Blitz> "Good evening," Emerald says cordially as she begins unloading the assorted weaponry onto the counter and giving Asami a boost up to the countertop.
  42. [2014-02-15 20:27:50] * Militus hits on an idea, but drops it. The ponies here probably wouldn't appreciate that. A shower will do instead. He heads for the stallion's shower stalls.
  43. [2014-02-15 20:28:13] * Asami grins and noddles "hiya Master of the Quarters!...I'm here on behalf of her highness here to sell some quality goods and aquire some of your medicinal stock you have on hoof!
  44. [2014-02-15 20:28:38] * Clue snuggles Feather Fall. No really talking, just snuggling and nuzzling. Time with Feather Fall is all that matters right now.
  45. [2014-02-15 20:28:52] <CrystalDM> 03It isn't hard for Militus to find the Stallion's showers. As an added bonus, there aren't even any mares inside... or stallions for that matter.
  46. [2014-02-15 20:31:42] <CrystalDM> 03The earth pony stallion sets the box on the counter. One of the books on top is 'Supernaturals' while another is a magazine entitled 'Solaris: You're Doing it Wrong'.
  47. [2014-02-15 20:32:08] <CrystalDM> 03The quartermaster smiles at the pair and nods. "Alright. What do you have for me?"
  48. [2014-02-15 20:33:47] * Militus takes off his gear and leaves it neatly piled before he steps into the shower. It is rather nice to get all the dried blood off.
  49. [2014-02-15 20:34:03] * Emerald_Blitz looks at the books curiously. "Hmm. That's a pre-war book..." she says softly. "Ministry Mare Sparkle kept one, heavily annotated by..." The alicorn grits her teeth. "That traitor 'friend' of hers. Nevermind. Is this for sale?" Emerald nudges the book with the strange leaves on its cover.

  51. [2014-02-15 20:35:14] <CrystalDM> 03The Quartermaster nods. "Mhm. About... half an hour ago I think? A batpony came by and sold them to us. Was just figuring out the condition of them."
  52. [2014-02-15 20:36:04] * Emerald_Blitz nudges Asami. "I'll tell you later. See if you can't work the book into the barter. That could be very useful to us."
  53. [2014-02-15 20:41:04] * Militus finishes with his shower and starts drying off, taking a moment to enjoy the solitude.
  54. [2014-02-15 20:41:36] * Tallie sniffs in Emerald_Blitz's mane.
  55. [2014-02-15 20:42:32] <Emerald_Blitz> While Asami assails the merchant, Emerald sits next to one of the sofas, and looks over her shoulder at Tallie. "Any better?" she asks quietly.
  56. [2014-02-15 20:45:09] * Tallie shakes her head. "nu-uh..." she mutters. She's shivering with fear.
  57. [2014-02-15 20:47:07] * Militus puts his gear back on, then checks the nearest clock. Won't do to be late.
  58. [2014-02-15 20:47:34] * Emerald_Blitz nods. "I see. Well, we'll see if you feel better after we get some dinner in you," the alicorn says. "And then we need to work on your flight. And this isn't an option anymore." Emerald sighs. "If you'd been able to get atop the roof, they couldn't have gotten to you. And I don't want to see you that close to death again. It has become a matter of choosing which you fear more..."

  60. [2014-02-15 20:49:40] <CrystalDM> 03The Quartermaster starts haggling with Asami over prices for weapons, books, and other things the group recovered.
  61. [2014-02-15 20:55:12] <CrystalDM> 03The clock reads 4 PM to Militus.
  62. [2014-02-15 20:56:09] * Militus decides to head back to the training rooms. Maybe there'll be one open now...
  63. [2014-02-15 20:58:51] * Asami turns and looks over at Emerald after awhile of haggle-selling our goods "Okay Cap'n Princess!..come on over and see what all it is we need..I got us roughly sixteen hundred in caps...or for the more exact..1602 caps...and I already got that book you wanted
  64. [2014-02-15 21:04:41] <CrystalDM> 03Militus finds one of the training rooms is opening up as he enters the hall. The teacher is a golden unicorn stallion with a brown mane, his cutie mark a glowing horn ready to strike. His one good eye is blue, while the other is covered in an eye patch.
  65. [2014-02-15 21:06:56] * Militus bows respectfully. "Greetings, I was hoping to find a sparring partner. I fear some of my old skills have fallen out of use and I must brush up before heading out into the wastes again. Will you oblige me?"
  66. [2014-02-15 21:08:55] <CrystalDM> 03There are about half a dozen students, a pegasus filly, three earth ponies fillies, and two unicorns colts all seem to be wearing boxing socks. The students all immediately hush and look at each other, then at the older unicorn. The unicorn stallion bows in return before smiling. "Alright. Though, I'm afraid my students will insist on watching."
  67. [2014-02-15 21:10:50] <Militus> "Of course. It is no problem. I fear I am not much used to using my hooves alone, do you perhaps have any dummy weapons I may use?" Militus drops his things by the door and stretches a bit.
  68. [2014-02-15 21:11:42] * Emerald_Blitz looks through the box of books with interest, then looks up. "Well, medical supplies are primary. Potions and super potions if they have a few, in case of emergency. Arcane gauze... what kind of selection do they have?"
  69. [2014-02-15 21:12:35] <CrystalDM> 03The stallion nods, walking over to a closet and unlocking it with a key. Inside are a variety of padded weapons, and a couple of boxing socks. The stallion takes out a set of the socks and nods to Militus. "Which would you like?"
  70. [2014-02-15 21:14:30] * Militus wordlessly picks out a padded sword and a longer spear. He then moves to the center of the room and gives each weapon a few practice swings, wielding the sword with his mouth and the spear with his tail.
  71. [2014-02-15 21:16:53] <CrystalDM> 03The stallion slips into the boxing gloves and ties them tightly, stretching a bit.
  72. [2014-02-15 21:17:46] * Militus is finally done warming up and assumes a fighting stance and nods to the instructor.
  73. [2014-02-15 21:18:47] <Asami> I need about 120 caps of the total myself Cap'n, but otherwise go nuts with the remainder
  74. [2014-02-15 21:20:45] <CrystalDM> 03The instructor walks out and bows to Militus. "I am Swift Strike." He adopts a stance that is faintly defensive, but otherwise nonchalant.
  75. [2014-02-15 21:24:07] * Militus stows his mock-sword for a moment to speak. "Militus," he bows as well, "and you have a very good stance. I didn't know there were any ponies who knew Fallen Caesar."
  76. [2014-02-15 21:25:25] <CrystalDM> 03Swift smiles and nods. "Not many do. You have to earn the right to be taught, and that isn't easy... the instruction is worth the pain, however."
  77. [2014-02-15 21:28:16] * Militus chuckles darkly. "Yes. Pain is the best teacher, is that how the saying goes in Equestrian? Let us see how much you can teach me." He draws his mock sword again and opens the spar with a quick swipe of the padded blade.
  78. [2014-02-15 21:29:18] * Emerald_Blitz sorts and acquires medical supplies first, then moves on to picking out something for each of the group to read. Never stop learning, as Twilight Sparkle's library advertising campaign went...
  79. [2014-02-15 21:33:51] <CrystalDM> 03Swift taps the flat of the padded blade with one of the socks, knocking the trajectory up and letting it brush his mane. He responds by attempting a low kick, trying to trip Militus.
  80. [2014-02-15 21:34:42] * Militus attempts to hop over the low blow, swinging the spear with his tail as he continues past.
  81. [2014-02-15 21:36:38] * CrystalDM taps the haft of the spear, near the point while stepping to the side. He responds with a jarring blow to the blade, attempting to knock it loose of Militus's grip.
  82. [2014-02-15 21:41:38] * Militus loses his grip on the spear and slides to a halt, turning back around to keep his remaining weapon ready.
  83. [2014-02-15 21:43:24] <CrystalDM> 03The stallion steps forward and delivers another firm kick, aiming for the left foreleg.
  84. [2014-02-15 21:43:52] * Militus tries to parry the blow with his sword.
  85. [2014-02-15 21:45:27] <CrystalDM> 03The sword knocks the blow wide, and the unicorn steps back before smiling. "This is why we keep a more defensive posture, students. A blow deflected leads not to an injury... and an aggressive style will cause you to take more blows than you can withstand."
  86. [2014-02-15 21:48:55] <Emerald_Blitz> After perusing the available literature and selecting the best medical gear available, Emerald is satisfied with the purchase. She tucks several books and a magazine into her bags along with the supplies, and scoops the remaining caps into a pile to give back to Asami. "There we are," the alicorn says, feeling good about the transaction. "And we have a hundred and thirty caps to split among...

  88. [2014-02-15 21:49:36] * Militus waits for the mini-lecture to finish before charging towards the instructor again, swinging with his sword.
  89. [2014-02-15 21:49:50] <Asami> okay..though a question...did you gwet enough potions for everyone to have an emergency use one?
  90. [2014-02-15 21:53:33] <CrystalDM> 03The students nod as Swift turns back to Militus. He attempts a parry, but ends up taking the strike instead. "Of course, you can't solely be defensive..." The unicorn swiftly turns and attempts to deliver a boxing sock buck to Militus.

  97. [2014-02-15 21:59:08] * Emerald_Blitz takes her 26 caps from the pile and leaves the rest with the dragon. "I got an emergency potion and emergency bandage for everyone, in case I'm not the first responder," Emerald says. "We came too close to losing friends to blood loss alone. I'm not risking it again." She gives a potion and bandage to Asami. "Now, I have a little work to do with blood samples. Have someone fetch me when we...
  98. [2014-02-15 21:59:10] * Emerald_Blitz ...are ready for dinner, would you kindly?"
  99. [2014-02-15 21:59:11] * Militus decides on a more drastic move. He darts away from Swift, towards the wall.
  100. [2014-02-15 22:00:16] <CrystalDM> 03Swift cocks his head at the odd maneuver. "Of course class, sometimes you need to retreat." Swift follows warily behind Militus.
  101. [2014-02-15 22:01:11] * Militus doesn't slow down as he reaches the wall. He uses his momentum to carry him up it and leaps off, twisting in the air to land on his hooves behind Swift.
  102. [2014-02-15 22:05:11] <Asami> Alright Cap'n...I'm gonna go hit up a seamstress for the next few hours" And then Asami leaves as well...looking to find an armorer
  103. [2014-02-15 22:05:21] <CrystalDM> 03Swift smiles at the maneuver. "Sometimes its just a feint to draw your opponent into a trap!" Swift runs up the wall and performs a back flip, landing to face Militus and assume a defensive stance.
  104. [2014-02-15 22:05:50] * Emerald_Blitz splits from the dragon and heads back to the Medical ward to perform tests on the suspicious raider clone blood, humming softly to herself.
  105. [2014-02-15 22:06:50] * Militus doesn't press the attack, however. He back across the room until he can feel his lost spear with a hoof. He deftly picks it up with his tail, brandishing it at Swift with a small flourish.
  106. [2014-02-15 22:09:15] <CrystalDM> 03Swift smiles and steps forward. "A clever strategem."
  107. [2014-02-15 22:10:03] * Militus grins fiercely and charges in, jabbing with the spear and following with a swing of his sword.
  108. [2014-02-15 22:14:05] * Emerald_Blitz scrubs in and gets to work on the samples, examining and analyzing the blood first for toxicology, then DNA analysis. She's still aware that Tallie is perched on her back, but opts to say nothing, for the time being.
  109. [2014-02-15 22:14:25] * Clue kisses Feather Fall. "I gotta get rid of some dead weight. Be right back". Quickly she packs up a large sack of bits and peices putting them in her saddle bags and trotting off to the quatermasters.
  110. [2014-02-15 22:15:18] <CrystalDM> 03Swift smiles and steps left as he taps the spear to the right. He spins and ducks low and taps the flat of the blade to allow it to brush his mane. Swift, now right close to Militus, lowers his front and performs another buck.
  111. [2014-02-15 22:15:29] * Tallie gently strokes her puncture wound as snuffles occasionally.
  112. [2014-02-15 22:16:03] * Militus tries to drop under the attack.
  113. [2014-02-15 22:16:40] <Emerald_Blitz> "You're going to get boogers in my mane," Emerald says with a hint of a smile, continuing to work.
  114. [2014-02-15 22:17:36] * Tallie sniffs again. "I won't..." she whispers. "I've been using my armour."
  115. [2014-02-15 22:17:41] <CrystalDM> 03It takes a little while but preliminary results indicate two things: First, that the DNA in both samples are identical. Secondly, both strands are incomplete.
  116. [2014-02-15 22:18:21] * Emerald_Blitz makes a wry face. "That's still in my mane," she protests. "Get down and I'll get you some proper tissues or a kerchief."
  117. [2014-02-15 22:19:10] <CrystalDM> 03Unfortunately, the unicorn is too close to get under the buck unless Militus drops the weapons and drops to the floor.
  118. [2014-02-15 22:19:23] * Tallie gives a tiny little whine. "Is there anyone around?"
  119. [2014-02-15 22:19:59] * Emerald_Blitz looks harder at the results, reruns them, and gets the same thing again. "A partial pony, replicated," she half-whispers. "Most unusual." The alicorn adjusts her face-shield absently as she thinks. "No, except the patient in the far corner, and I believe he's either sedated or in a coma. You're safe as houses here."
  120. [2014-02-15 22:21:03] <CrystalDM> 03Clue manages to get about halfway to the Quartermasters before she gets turned around... and runs muzzle-first into Asami.
  121. [2014-02-15 22:21:16] * Tallie starts to climb down. "But most houses are ruins now." she mutters. She's still spattered with blood and theres a small snot trail on her sleeve.
  122. [2014-02-15 22:21:37] * Clue rubs her nose. "Oh... sorry... these halls are confusing..."
  123. [2014-02-15 22:21:57] * Militus doesn't make it in time and takes the blow. He staggers back with a grunt.
  124. [2014-02-15 22:23:19] * Asami blinks and rubs her snout "watch where you're going ehh Clue?...ohh by the by" As Asami fishes around in her pouch and offers out some caps " Here is your split after all the medical supplies were bought

[2014-02-15 22:23:24] <Emerald_Blitz> Emerald's horn glows white-green and the tickly prickle of the Clean spell whisks the dried blood out of Tallie's coat, and... other substances off of her armor. "Poor analogy, I admit. Safe as a Stable... wait, some of those ended poorly too..." The alicorn scruches her muzzle. "Wasteland is apparently not known for its compliance with safety regulations."
  126. [2014-02-15 22:23:55] <Tallie> "safe as clouds?" She asks, looking up at Emerald. She sits herself down and sniffles.
  127. [2014-02-15 22:25:06] * Clue takes her 26 caps and blinks. "...that's... it?.... those spears looked pretty special..." She shakes her head. "Oh, hey Asami... do you want to help me get rid of something?... I'm no good at selling things... I swear they raise the prices when they see me..."

"Never had much use for clouds myself, though I've been assured they're quite comfortable," she says, levitating a box of tissue paper over to the small griffon. "Looks like these raiders are suffering from a developmental disorder. In addition to not having any sense of personal hygiene, they also have the morality of a rabid badger, and the incapacity to feel empathy."

  130. [2014-02-15 22:26:47] <Asami> yeah...Emmy had to buy a crapton of med supplies..but she got all of use an 'ohhshit' potion and some books to read as well..and uhm...I suppose I could..what are you wanting to sell? and yeah...not all meerchants are honest hon'..some will look at you and see caps in their eyes
  131. [2014-02-15 22:28:57] * Clue looks around. "...uhh... I'll show you when we get there ok?..." Cleaning herself off Clue gets up and continues towards the quatermasters grabbing Asami in her magic.

"Compulsive violence and inability to control any emotions at all, rage, grief, lust... considering what we were up against, I'd say we were lucky to just get away with stab wounds." She taps her chin with a hoof. "Come to think of it, they would 'go with the flow' so to speak, with almost any kind of commands... a mental manipulation spell such as an Illusion or any mind control would...

  134. [2014-02-15 22:29:28] <Asami> heheh...a girl could get use to this floaty stuff
  135. [2014-02-15 22:30:32] * Militus snarls and lunges forward, lashing out with a flurry of attacks from his spear and sword this time.
  136. [2014-02-15 22:31:56] * Tallie lays down like a sphinx. "I... didn't understand much of that." she says, quietly.
  137. [2014-02-15 22:33:27] <CrystalDM> 03Swift's eyes open in alarm as he starts to step back moving into flowing motions as he attempts to parry all the blows. A couple get in, but the stallion manages to deflect most of them.
  138. [2014-02-15 22:34:06] <CrystalDM> 03Clue and Asami can easily make there way to the Quartermasters.
  139. [2014-02-15 22:34:10] * Militus keeps pushing forward, trying to force Swift up against the wall.

[2014-02-15 22:35:35] <Emerald_Blitz> "Basically, these... clones, if you will, may have no resistance at all to miiiiiind-controllllll magic," Emerald explains, waggling her forehooves at the griffon spookily. "I would be much surprised if there isn't a controller of some sort, either a powerful unicorn, or perhaps a computer with spell talismans, controlling them from within the Stable."

  420. [2014-02-16 01:32:04] <Tallie> One small tree branch shakes violently and apples rain down from it. Then a griffin falls out of it with an oof. She gathers up the apples and sprints off after Emerald.

  426. [2014-02-16 01:35:07] <Tallie> "Sorry!" she calls out, instead wrapping her arms around the leg and shimmying up.
