- There was a sonic boom before the Neries accelerated herself, through siphoning that otherwordly mana, towards Kathryn-- her weapon, also made of pure cosmic energy, flashing through the air. Despite her young age and the fact that this was her first match on Agartha, Astaria was still an Inquisitor of Nostvale; everytime her weapon cut through the air, that darkened energy, gleaming like the stars, would explode. Unlike the colour suggested, however, it was not a corrupted art, or sickening-- if anything, it was soothing.
- Soothing until its searing energies went through the flesh, at least, burning as vividly as if they were fire. Despite the fact that she wore magic, the Neries was, in fact, a close-range fighter; she would continuously accelerate herself towards Kathryn through a sonic boom, her body empowered with that darkened energy as flashes of cosmic explosion struck against her body, time and time again.
- While strong in its own regard, this would be little different from a regular Cosmic Magi, darkness notwithstanding. What was different about this Neries is how there was a feeling of weakness everytime she was approached-- and indeed, everytime she accelerated herself towards Kathryn, where was a hunger to those silvery eyes which, perhaps, was very little different from the vampires themselves.
- However, while the vampires thirsted for blood, the Neries hungered for mana, whether from Kathryn's illusion magic thrown at her or siphoning it directly from the woman herself.
- Astaria accelerated herself one last time towards Kathryn; continuously using the enemy's magic to further strenghten herself, the Neries struck that lightning-shaped cosmic energy against the ghoul's head as to slam her to the ground-- on the snow, thankfully. A burst of sound echoed, an oppressive white noise, as the Inquisitor walked towards the spot to which the ghoul was left on the floor, holding her by the head and staring at her in the eyes.
- She wanted more.
- Passing a couple of seconds, however, her stare soothened a little. Her grip upon the woman's hair was still firm, but her stare wasn't as hostile or predatory as it had been throughout the battle; her voice echoed once more, from the entirety of her body, like a soothing harmony,
- .. "you fought well. we just happened to have different sides. for what it's worth.. i'm sorry it turned out like this" ..
- Her free hand was opened, then, with her index and middle fingers put together, spread out with the thumb. Her hand slowly moved towards Kathyn's head, pressing it directly against her forehead, with each opposite finger pressing tightly against her temples. Astaria would make it as quick as possible-- a chilly feeling that had nothing to do with temperature would go through the ghoul's body, along with a prickling sensation that would only get stronger.
- At first, just an annoyance-- then, actively noticeable. A few seconds later, a seething, unbearable pain, which would only last for a second as the Inquisitor siphoned the entirety of the ghoul's mana - everything her body could handle and beyond, leaving behind just a perfectly preserved corpse. Though it was just an empty husk.
