- abruptly moved to korea when xiarong was eleven
- her family isn't exactly around every day
- her father tends to be overprotective when he's around at home (often checks up on xiarong, sometimes excuses xiarong out of the room for seemingly no reason)
- any friend over at her house might feel her dad seems to have lots of imaginary worries about xiarong
- owns a fair bit of property and money
- family is a little stingy when it comes to their own needs and wants, but for friends and outsiders they can be very generous
- family speaks chinese at home

- reading
- baking those just-add-water muffins, because they're the only thing she can make without giving up halfway
- listening only to mandopop or the spotify playlist 'ocean escapes'
- writing stories

- fiddling with anything around her

❑ HOW DID YOU AND YOUR LOVE INTEREST FIRST MEET? :
- xiarong came really early on her first day at school to avoid arriving to huge crowds (im not sure what kind of setting is appropriate for your story 'cause age and all)
- sicheng also came early
- sicheng noticed xiarong staring into the empty hallway, probably lost, and muttering to herself in chinese
- in possibly the most broken korean ever, xiarong mustered the courage to approach sicheng and ask where she should be then
- sicheng laughed - it was a calming sound to xiarong - and told her, in chinese, that he could bring her to (wherever), but since it was early she could stick with him for a while
- something about being around sicheng and the easy conversations between them seemed to take clear up the huge dark mess in her head, like the scent of spicy oil to a blocked nose

the murder had occurred at a party. the oblivious people who were attending the party hadn't noticed it yet. suddenly, the lights went out.

⊠ WHAT WAS YOUR REACTION? : as she looked to sicheng to ease her panic, xiarong thought of what happened when she was younger back in china, and that guilt in her heart from that incident. maybe she was getting everything confused, but that guilt might have returned.

⊠ WHAT WAS YOUR LOVE INTEREST'S REACTION? : as sicheng caught xiarong's gaze and gave an instinctive smile of reassurance, he couldn't help  but wish he never came, or invited xiarong, whoever the murderer was

⊠ WHY DID YOU COME TO THIS PARTY? :
xiarong had been missing out on regular teenager things like parties, and she thought her mind would be okay enough to not be triggered by anything. after all, sicheng would be there, and he promised to look out for her.

⊠ HAVE YOU COMMITTED ANY CRIMES IN THE PAST? :
there was fear curdling in xiarong's stomach for some reason or another when she was out with a classmate back in china - as if she was sensing something bad - and the next thing she knew, she was home with blood-stained hands someone's even bloodier cap. xiarong's classmate didn't seem to have a clue of what happened either, so she thought it was her bad memory. but if somewhere in her chest there was a heavy weight of guilt, so she did something wrong, didn't she?

⊠ BACKSTORY :
- 4 was not the most auspicious number because it sounded like 'die' in chinese, so being born on 4/4/99 wasn't exactly very welcoming to many she met
- the neighbourhood kids and schoolmates used this to make fun of her and called her a zombie, and treated her as if she were some walking dead girl, or some bringer of death
- being teased like this shouldn't have taken a big toll on her, but she found herself feeling too much or too little at the wrong times, and sometimes she lashed out to the wrong people
- people were scared of her. if it weren't for that they'd at least be weirded out, because she frequently lost her train of thought, and she was often talking to herself
- even just regular people who had nothing against her had their eyes glued on her, like she was a strange alien specimen scientists haven't taken away yet and they knew she clearly didn't belong
- after three months of all this intensifying, her father took her to a kid's therapist, where they found out she had 'an imagination too big and too dark for a ten-year-old', or so she was told then
- since they could afford it, they moved to korea to seek treatment so 'her mind wouldn't eat her heart away'
- she's still not 'normal', but sometimes that made her more special than others
- but 'imagination stays in your mind for a reason', so no one should ever know of her childhood-onset schizophrenia
