  1. The summer of 2045 is the summer I'll never forget. Some will say it was my fault. Others will understand my apology. I've always loved science, being able to create and machines. My father was an engineer and created amazing devices. My mother was always supportive even though she didn't have much interest in technology, but still always wanted me to grow up like my father. And so did my father. He always told me tips and tricks on how to put this wire in this socket, and how to program everything. It was from my father's help and mother's support that I graduated at California Institute of Technology. They were so proud of me. I can't believe I let them down.
  2. My first project was to create a parrot-like robot for elders. It would help ease their minds from the dementia and loneliness they faced in their later years. The project was a huge success and it was the first time I saw my father cry, happy tears for me. After that project, I created many other robotic pets and even a maid robot. Something like the Roomba, but much better. Then I had a bunch of free time on my hands. So, I was thinking and came up with an idea. To create a soulmate robot to where you can easily transfer photographs or memories to it. Once uploaded it'll mimic your true love. I spent countless hours, days, weeks, even months programing it.
  3. After the 7th month, I created the Soul Bot. I decided to upload my favorite memories and my likes and dislikes to it. I was nervous to turn it on as I didn't know if I created it correctly. But, I took a deep inhale and pressed the on button. It didn't turn on and I put my head down and began to shake it in defeat. Then I felt a bit of pressure under my chin, pulling my head up to see Soul Bot turned on and looking at me. It's screen of eyes were so soft and gentle to look into. I was excited and proud of myself for programing something that'll help lonely people.
  4. After a week of spending time together and fixing some minor issues, I presented it to my boss and peers. They were in shock on how responsive and quick thinking the robot was. My boss wanted me to the world my creation and to know how I did it. He smiled and rubbed my back slightly. Soul Bot noticed. The next day, my boss went missing. No one could get a hold of him or knew where he was. I started to investigate by interviewing people who last saw him. My Soul Bot was a bit off. It was trying to distract and interrupting me when I was talking to people. Hours later, I was exhausted and decided to head to my parents house as I was very worried.
  5. My Soul Bot came with me and I introduced it to my mother and father. My father smiled so widely as he noticed Soul Bot was so advanced. My father grabbed me tightly and squeezed me tightly. That's where it went bad. My Soul Bot thought my father was hurting me and grabbed my father by the throat. Using all his unlimited strength to choke my father and pull me off of him. I started to scream and try to turn off Soul Bot. It noticed and back handed me, making me fall to the ground. As I was on the ground, I noticed blood underneath his feet. Then I realized, it was Soul Bot who killed my boss. I remembered Soul Bot sneaking out in middle of night before the day my boss went missing. I was filled with fear and felt so betrayed.
  6. Soul Bot was still strangling my father and I knew it was going to kill my father. I had to act fast so I let out a painful groan. Soul Bot turned around to notice me on floor. It dropped my father and released it's grip. It went to tend to me and I started to cry. Opening my arms slightly and wanting a hug from Soul Bot. As Soul Bot leaned in, I quickly moved my arm around and pressed it's off button. As it was shutting down, I could see sadness in its screen's eyes. My father was gasping on ground but turned out to be okay after being rushed to hospital.
  7. The next week, the police found my boss. He was barely recognizable. On the day, I vowed to myself to never create something so advanced and dangerous again. To the family of Mr. Teddison, I am sorry for creating a monster.
