  1. Hey... I have a feeling that some things were misunderstood regarding my lastest conversation in the Tokyo-Ghoul Discord server. I feel misunderstood as well. Please take the time to read it, I spent a lot of time writing this (it just proves that this community is important to me).
  2.
  3. >background:
  4. So I started off by asking someone who apparently was shutted down because of his unpopular opinion, what was his opinion
  5. It had something to do with that female MMA / UFC (I don't really follow these things, idk) which won the girls' competition, but was once a man (a transgender).
  6. So I told what I think, which is that it can't be helped but in a situation like this criticism will come. I agreed that it's not 100% genuine and normal situation, but I respected everyone else and explained every detail about why I think this way.
  7.
  8. We got to a point where everyone was asked to drop the topic, and it was mentioned that there are transgenders in the server as well.
  9. So I asked if anyone could say me who they were, but of course, that I knew it wasn't a 100% legit question, so I repeated and said that this question can be ignored if no one wants to answer that.
  10. That's how I am, I tend to ask difficult questions. That's probably the reason I was kicked.
  11.
  12. So here I continue:
  13. People asked me why would I even want to know that.
  14. I patiently explained that it doesn't really matter to me, hence the reason I was OK with not getting answer at all. I also had to explain that my treatment for these people wouldn't change by even a bit, and that I asked it out of curiosity.
  15. Now, people told me that "there was nothing to be curious about".
  16. I will never agree with a saying like that.
  17. I explained that curiosity, as I see it, is a concept that can be defined as seeking knowledge, sometimes not for any particular target. I also said that curiosity is not the same between different people, and hinted that I am a curious one.
  18.
  19. At this point, the conversation was about the general concept of curiosity, and not about the transgenders.
  20. For some reason, we were asked to drop this conversation as well.
  21. I'm not sure why, it wasn't violating anything. Yes, I kept on asking difficult questions about this concept of curiosity, and when a line is crossed or not. But all along the way, I mentioned that if no one wants to answer me, it's fine, and the topic would have been dropped by itself.
  22.
  23. The thing is, people kept replying, and I kept answering and asking again.
  24. We were asked to stop once more. This time, as Alastar said:
  25. "This conversation is over"
  26. "Fury, I'm letting you off with a warning"
  27.
  28. Wait. What.
  29. I kept the conversation going but wasn't the only one participating for sure.
  30. I also didn't violate any written rule, nor hurted anyone.
  31. Well, there was still this one person I didn't answer to, after this message by Alastar.
  32. My "mistake" was answering him in the public chat, and not in private.
  33. Yes. I quoted "mistake" because it isn't an objectively mistake. It's how it was seen by me (and probably by Alastar as well).
  34.
  35.
  36.
  37. >What happened next:
  38. This is where I got "suspended".
  39. Later, this "suspension" became a permanent ban, due to "carefully discussing your case with other moderators of the server, we've decided that you will no longer be allowed back into the Tokyo Ghoul Discord, effective immediately.".
  40.
  41. I don't believe that all of the Mods have actually seen how I acted, because I was very careful when typing my messages. I know it was about slightly more heated topics, but still, it's not a justified reason to ban someone permanently.
  42. The 0 tolerance nature of this act: from a warning to a permanent ban in seconds. As if I violated some basic human rights over there.
  43.
  44. Everything I did was legit, beside ignoring the warning.
  45. I think this subject should be talked about again, because as I told MULTYPE times in that time: I respect the mods here, the community, and their opinions. I wouldn't want to hurt anyone, and no one told me I hurted them. (It's part of the reason I can't believe all of the mods actually took a look at my messages, and "effective immediately" decided I deserve a permanent ban).
  46.
  47. I learnt my lesson. I won't ignore warnings, even when I don't think they are justified. Give me a month or two, but please consider again the decision to permanently remove me.
