  1. >You're in the middle of preparing lunch for the priestesses when Raquel sneaks up on you and swipes the spoon from your hand.
  2. >You whirl around rather in a rather agitated fashion,"What the hell are you doing?", you demand of the older snake woman.
  3. >She smirks at you before replying, "You have a guest to attend to."
  4. "What are you talking about, I don't get guests"
  5. >She begins stirring the pot in front of her, "Well you do now and she was rather eager to see you."
  6. >You try to step over to continue cooking only to have her wrap her tail around and and set you towards the door.
  7. >"I cooked the meals in this temple for 15 years before you showed up boy, I can easily cook one more meal while you entertain your guest; now GO!", she doesn't even dain to look at you as she says this, but judging by the way her tail is almost rattling she's not going to let you go back to cooking.
  8. >You sigh and head out to the entrance to see just who this mystery guest is.
  9. >As you enter the main hall you see Josephine chatting with, oh Absolom; it's the kitsune from a couple weeks ago.
  10. >You calmly walk up to the white haired foxwoman and welcome her to the temple.
  11. You called for me miss...
  12. >"OH, I never did tell you my name did I?", she chuckles to herself,"Me and my forgetful nature."
  13. >"I am Shirley, a fortune teller by trade; although some call me a medium.", She gives a small curtsy." And you are?"
  14. I'm-
  15. >While you tel her your name you all hear Raquel swear loudly and begin yelling at a younger shirohebi who tried to sneak in and get a snack.
  16. Although most people simply call me Cookanon.
  17.
  18. >"Cookanon hmmm? Are you sure it wasn't brushanon?", she asks eyeing you in a manner that leaves you genuinely uncomfortable.
  19. >In a surprising show of protective friendship Josephine decides to step in between the two of you, " Miss Shirley was just tellling me that she wanted to repay your treatment that night by reading your fortune."
  20. >"R-right", Shirley responds, before slipping into her stage persona,"Let madame Shirley help clarify your fortune boy."
  21. Well I suppose it can't hurt.
  22. >Of course you can't help but think this is kinda pointless since the temple is full of shirohebi and a ryu who could read your fortune at any time, but never look a gift centaur in the mouth and all that.
  23. >She pulls you towards the same room she used during her stay.
  24. >Once she sits you down at the table she throws a small cover over the table and sets down a crystal ball.
  25. A bit tacky don't you think?
  26. >Josephine smacks you on the back of the head with her tail," Hush and let the lady do her thing."
  27. >Shirley shushes the both of you and begins to move her hands over the ball, the swirling mists within it begin to follow the pattern of her hands after a few minutes.
  28. >"I see, I see uncertainty, but then a beautiful women with flowing silver hair to guide you out of this uncertainty. To take you away from your troubles and provide you with the love you deserve", as she's saying a this her tails have slipped under the table and are playing with your belt a fact that has gone unnoticed by Josephine who is to busy looking at her hair and trying to figure out if the white color could be considered silver.
  29. M-maybe we should stop and do, a-another form of reading yeah that's right maybe we should do some tarrot instead!
  30. >You jump up, thankfully she doesn't have enough experience to have actually gotten your belt undone, but not for lack of trying.
  31. >She sighs and begins to speak," Fine I can do a tarrot reading for you instead, but miss Josephine here needs to leave. I prefer to do a reading like that in private as it is a much more persona affair."
  32. >Josephine doesn't quite look ok with that but agree to do so none the less.
  33.
  34. >Josephine reluctantly leaves the room, but you can tell she didn't go very far. There is still the faint smell of her perfume in the air.
  35. >When did she start wearing perfume?
  36. >When did you start noticing?
  37. >Either way you snap back to attention as the kitsune was speaking to you,"Ok I just need you to pick three cards and place them facedown on the table"
  38. Ok, seems easy enough.
  39. >You casually grab three cards from the middle and place them next to each other facedown on the table.
  40. >"Ok now to flip these overs, and oh my what's this?" She seems surprised that alll 3 cards have come up The Lovers.
  41. So, uh, what does that mean?
  42. >She looks at you rather seductively and starts climbing over the table, "It means give the fox the dick, silly."
  43. Oh Um I'm not entirely sure that's a good idea.
  44. >You begin to back up until you feel your back up against the wall, but just when she's starting to climb onto you Josephine bursts into the room and yanks her off of you, "No bad girl, bad! No foxes on the anon."
  45. >She sets the foxgirl down in her seat and places another, much smaller deck in front of her. "Let's try that again shall we?" She says with a smile and she calmly slithers out of the room once more.
  46.
  47. >She rather dejectedly shuffles the deck and holds them out to you.
  48. >You pull out 3 cards and set them up just like before.
  49. >This time however as she flips them over she begins to speak, "Hmm the death card in your past no doubt refers to how you arrived at this temple and became their cook."
  50. >She thne flips over the Strength card, "Now the strength card in your present no doubt refers to a need to patience in your life, or it could mean your girlfriend needs to calm the fuck down."
  51. Sh-she's not my girlfriend.
  52. >"Then she needs to back off and let somebody have you or she needs to claim you herself." She flips the final card over and is visibly surprised to see the Lovers come up again," Ok the Lovers being in your future no doubt refers to a change in a relationship you have with somebody, be it a friend becoming a lover or a lover growing cold and ending their relationship with you."
  53. >She looks up and looks you dead in the eyes, "Now if you give me the same treatment you gave me the last time i was here I'll let you in on a little secret."
  54. Ok I suppose that's fine.
  55. >"You're a human, that means these cards here? Not set in stone, you can still change your fate to some degree. Think about that while considering the way the cards came out tonight. Now go and get your brush and that lovely singing voice, momma needs a good nights sleep."
  56. >After brushing and singing her to sleep you reluctantly return to your room and spend some time meditating on the days events.
