- Dear Vicky Vinch,
- Thank you for contacting us. We understand your concern
- about your new Chase Debit Card and regret that this has
- been escalated. Please allow us to provide more
- information on this matter.
- With the new embedded chip card, this replaces your old
- card, while still providing all the same features and
- benefits you currently receive. The chip stores
- information needed to complete your purchase, such as card
- number and expiration date.
- The chip alone does not make your card more secure. A chip
- transaction adds another layer of security to cards by
- requiring the chip to produce a single-use code to
- validate the transaction ? further protecting your card
- from unauthorized use. This process makes your chip card
- information more difficult to steal and therefore prevents
- counterfeit fraud, one of the largest and fastest growing
- types of fraud here at home and abroad.
- Please know that Chase has the best interest in keeping
- your account protected and secure. Regardless of how often
- you use the card, the U.S. is shifting to chip-enabled
- cards which would require Chase to transition to chip for
- both credit and debit cards. We are unable to deactivate
- the RFID feature on the card since Chase commits to card
- security, and chip technology is an important, proven tool
- that helps fight counterfeit fraud.
- We hope that this information has clarified your inquiry
- about the new ship card. We value your relationship us.
- Thank you for choosing Chase.
- Sincerely,
- Taline Torossian

- Yes, I do hae another question.
- I apparently have received an RFID chip card. I had asked

- What information is stored on this card, please and what
