▹ PERSONALITY - jake is the quiet type for sure. he’s never been open with anyone in his whole life. that’s why there is no exception to it towards the members. he refuses to talk about his birth at all because he’s so insecure about it and just telling his members about it and making a big deal about it will just make him more insecure. he also hides countless other things from the members, because he’s pretty good at keeping secrets. some of the members will use this to their advantage and rant to jake, who listens and understands, and keeps it all a secret in his already messed up, filled, mind. he has a hard time trusting people as his past has really affected his daily life. he does trust his members some what, but he doesn’t like admitting he barely trusts them, so he acts like he does. jake, being the quiet, secretive type, has a hard time talking in interviews and such, so he always pauses to think about his words, and sometimes, people call him wise because of his word choices and bold statements. i can tell you, jake speaks his mind when he needs to. if he’s annoyed by something, he’ll tell you straight out. he doesn’t give a crap if you’ll fight him for it, he’s just the kind of guy who speaks his mind, it’s just him. he’s an independent person, seeing as he moved to Korea by himself with no financial or social help, and he’s been doing somewhat fine, so he’s pretty responsible. if jake is occupied or angry, and someone tries to bother him, he’ll either ignore them, or threaten to kill them. he’s got slight anger issues, as he got angry by his father’s actions a lot in Germany, and now most small things fire him up. he also wrote a lot of poems back in Germany as a hobby and he’s always dreamed of becoming a poet, so people tell him that he’s very deep because of his abstract poems. which he is very deep, because he spends most of his nights sitting on his bed, staring at his ceiling, and thinking for an hour or so straight. he’s a very complicated guy, but once you understand his situation, you won’t want to get on his bad side, and respect his privacy, or he’ll gladly kill you. (not literally, well maybe, we’ll see. depends on how he’s feeling.)

▹ LEVEL OF ACCEPTANCE TO ANCESTRY - (read backstory first) jake had no idea about his ancestors until he was 15 years old and that was the time when he actually understood about his past after his mom explained everything. he can’t accept it. that he has a real father who died in the war, and his father who is still alive stole him from his mother. he can’t seem to wrap his head around everything. he barely thinks about it because he forces himself not to, but those times when he does think about it, he wants to cry, scream, even die. he’s sad that he can’t ever meet his real father and see if they have a resemblance and such. but he’s also angry because none of his fathers ever loved his mother, they were both just using her, and he never thought that was right. he couldn’t believe what happened when he was just a baby. he doesn’t want to accept it. so he just forgets about it.

▹ BACKGROUND - the typical tale of rumpelstiltskin that jake lives in. it all starts in his small town of nuremberg where a poor miller lived. the miller was desperate for money, and with no jobs and a daughter, he needed money badly. so, what he did was go to the king of the town and tell him that his daughter could spin straw into gold. since the king was so greedy for riches, he believed the old miller and kidnapped his daughter, placing her in a room with piles of straw and a spinning wheel. however, the poor daughter had no power to spin straw into gold, and if she couldn’t her head would be cut off. she tried and tried, but could not do it, and she soon faced defeat. until one day, a small man appears in her room and offers her a trade, he will turn the straw into gold if he could have her necklace. so, the daughter agreed, and soon, the king was so pleased with the woman that he agreed to have her first child if she would turn all the straw in a larger room into gold. and the woman had no choice but to comply, and that day, the small man came back into the room and spun the straw, but this time, he wanted her child. she refused, and after having the baby, the small man made a deal with the woman that if she guessed his name correctly then she could keep the baby. the thing was, she only had three days to do so, and by the end of those days, she had no idea what to do but give the small man her first child. that small man and the woman got married soon after, because the small man could not take care of the baby on his own. and that small man’s name was rumpelstiltskin, the woman’s name johanna, and the baby’s name… jake. jake was the baby that johanna and the former king had who was named frederick, had and soon belonged to rumpelstiltskin instead. growing up without knowing his backstory, jake had a pretty decent life. but, when he was 15 years old, his mother couldn’t hold the secret in any longer, and told everything to jake. jake was shocked, scared, disturbed, angry, confused, a mix of emotions he was feeling. he didn’t know what to do or what to say, so he didn’t say anything. he never saw his father the same way after that, his father practically stole him from his mother, and if it wasn’t for his uncaring self, his mother would have never been with him. he despised his father, so much, that he wanted nothing to do with him. and that’s what drove him out of Germany and into Korea. he never told anyone that story after he moved to Korea. he practically forgot about his parents. he feels bad for his mother some nights when he’s sleeping or dreaming about them. but he keeps all his emotions inside. and he still does, to this day, despise his father.
