Interview Procedure
+FIRSTLY CHECK THEIR APPLICATION THAT IT’S ACCEPTED

SECTION 1 – Preparation
Welcome them to the community and make sure they feel comfortable.
Ask for a link to their application if you don’t have it open already.
Start an interview log so you can add to it as you go along, this way information is not forgotten or missed. A template is on the forums.
Make sure you tell them that they cannot be reading the rules during the interview

SECTION 1 – Basic Information Questions
Ask these questions and note them on your interview log:
“How old are you?”
“What is your full date of birth?” – Also compare this to their application to make sure they are not lying, if they are providing false information contact a higher ranking member.
“Where are you from?”
“What is your primary language?” – If English is not their primary language ask them if they can speak fluent English.
“What name would you take on in our community to RP?” – Skip this question if they already have an RP name however just clarify with them that it is the name they want to use and then write it down on the interview log.



SECTION 2 – Rules Test

There are 3 sections to the rules test:
Basic definition questions  (2.A)
In-Game Scenario Questions  (2. B)
TeamSpeak and Forum Questions  (2.C)

Failure System:
From the ‘Basic Definition Questions’ section, if any question is answered incorrectly then it’s an instant failure and the interview stops, the interview process will have to be repeated in 2 weeks. (Wait until the end of that sub section before telling them, that way they do not hear the questions for the next sub-sections and know what to revise for next time). The fact that they failed needs to be noted on the interview log and give details on what questions they completed and what questions they got wrong.

In-Game Scenario (2. B.) and TeamSpeak and Forum Questions (2.C):
In these sections the applicant will fail the attempt if 2 questions are answered incorrectly. This could be 2 from 2.B or 2 from 2.C and could also be 1 from each.

Retry System:
In the first interview the applicant gets 2 attempts. If a basic definition question is answered incorrectly they fail and do not get the 2nd attempt, they can repeat the interview process in 2 weeks.
After the 2 weeks they can have another interview. If a basic definition question is answered incorrectly in either the 1st or 2nd attempt they are permanently not accepted into the community. If they fail the 2.B + 2.C sections in both attempts of the 2nd interview they are also permanently not accepted into the community.




QUESTIONS
SECTION 2.A – Basic Definition Questions

1. “Can you please give the definition of "Role-Play?”
The act of playing out/imitating a particular role in game.
Be strict on this question as it is the base line of our community.

 2. “What is the difference from being In-Character and Out-Of-Character?”
In-Character is RP on the server.
Out-Of-Character is anything out of the server and not related to the game.

3. “Can you give the definition of Random Death matching?
Killing without a roleplay reason

4. “What is the New Life Rule?”
When you die, you don’t remember in your previous life relating to your death ( Up to 1 hour)



SECTION 2.B – In-Game Scenarios

In these questions make sure that they give the correct rule which is/would be broken in each scenario
Use 5 of the following 10 questions
On a second attempt use the questions which were not used in the first attempt

1. “You rob the bank and you are caught. You’re restrained by the Police on scene and you commit suicide by hitting respawn on the esc menu. Are you allowed to do this, give reasons.”
No you are NOT allowed to do this as it is breaking RP, you are in custody.

2. “You are being chased by the police and run into the lake. The officer tasers you and cuffs you. He informs you to swim back to shore but instead you swim out, deeper into the lake. Are you able to do so and give your reasons?”
No, this is also breaking RP and you have to do what the officer says as you are in custody.

3. “You're gathering Platinum ore and civilian comes up and tries robbing at gunpoint, you jump into your car and make an escape; are you allowed to do this?
No. The Driver of the vehicle is in the wrong as you wouldn’t be able to jump into a car in real life if someone had a gun to your head. This is breaking RP.

4. “You rob a civilian while he is using the ATM in the green zone. Are you allowed to do so? Give detailed reasons to your decision.”
You are not allowed to do this as the spawn is part of the “Green Zone”.
The ‘Green-Zone’ is a crime free zone and any crime committed in the zone will result in a temporary or permanent ban.

5. “The man who you witnessed kill your co-worker is crossing the street on foot, you're 100% sure that it is him, you run him over because of what he did to your co-worker. Are you correct in doing so? Give reasons”
No. This is vehicle death matching, which is not allowed.



6. “You're in a gang, there is another gang in the area and you disagree with them. Can you start firing upon them without notifying them? If not what do you have to do first?”
No. To be at war with another gang you need to make a post on the forums declaring that you are at war with them. This makes it fair and removes the confusion of random death match.

7. “There is an EMT helping out a civilian you have shot with good reason, you kill the EMT so that the civilian does not get treatment. Is there anything wrong with this? Give reasons for your decision.”
You are not allow to kill them, but if they step into line of fire and you killed them by a mistake. It is ok, but it has to be in a role play scenarios.

8. You ask someone for their name in-game, the person types their name in chat and the game gives you a different name, what name should you use?
You should use the name which he gave you, if you use the name which the game gave you, it is classed as meta gaming.

9. “You walk up to the owner of a garage, and shoot him because he is a major competition to your business and you are losing money because of him. Are you ok in doing so? Give reasons.”
No you are not allowed to as this would be KOS. You have to be in contact with the victim before hostile actions are taken against them. Contact would involve a response to your message.

10. “You happen to walk passed a car which has a weapon within the gear menu, you take the weapon from the gear and run off with it. Is this allowed?”
No. Taking weapons from a vehicle you don't own or you don't have keys to is forbidden.




SECTION 2.C – TeamSpeak and Forum

1. “If you join the server without being on our TeamSpeak 3 server, what will be the result and why?”
You will be warned to get on teamspeak, if you ignore the warning you will be kicked off the server, if you keep joining the server without being on teamspeak, an admin will be forced to issue a temporary ban on you.
This is because you won’t be able to communicate with people in game which breaks RP.

2. “You post a link to another community commenting that you think we should "check them out", what will occur next?”
You will be permanently banned from Arma 3: Life community for advertising.

3. “How many warning points are required to be permanently banned?”
If 30 points is reached it is a permanent ban from the community, after a month the warning points are removed.

4. “You are issued a 24 hour ban, how many warning points would you receive?”
You will receive 10 points for each ban. (Also allow "1" or "1/3")

5. “You need assistance on the TeamSpeak server, you see a TS Admin and a Head Administrator on TeamSpeak. You message the Head Administrator first and he bans you for a day, is he allowed to do so?
The Head Admin is correct in banning you as you didn’t follow the Chain of Command.

6. “You see an Administrator sitting in the ‘Do Not Disturb’ channel on teamspeak and/or any other channels which state DND, message him and he bans you for a day, is he right or wrong in doing so”
The admin is allowed to do so, even if you have followed the chain of command, do not disturb people in these channels




SECTION 3 – Agreements

DO NOT DO THIS IF THEY FAIL RULES
1. “Do you agree that you have read and understood all of our rules?”
2. “Do you understand that the administrators have the final say in all matters?”
3. “Do you understand that you are to respect all the members of our community, even if you are not fond of them?”
