  1. Kia Ora, my name is Conrad and I am currently a second-year student studying Engineering & Physiology at UoA. I’ve been involved with UN+Youth for 4 years, and since AMUN16, I've fallen in love with UN+Youth. The skills in that I gained in confidence, communication and public speaking from UN+Youth events really changed my life, especially since I come from a homeschooled background.

  3. Hence why I am excited to run for a General Member role, and I’m especially interested in the HSA Coordinator role. As I was an HSA in 2017, I have been able to observe the evolution the HSA Programme over the past three years. I believe that in-school MUNs and UN+Youth clubs are a key link for getting students into UN+Youth. Although I will be the age of a normal Year 13 student next year, I believe that I am suited for this position due to my keen interpersonal skills and leadership that I have developed from volunteering at 5 UN+Youth events as a CA, as well as from other leadership positions including UniGuides.

  5. Inclusivity is extremely important to me personally; I was 13 at my first UN+Youth event and the experience was very intimidating for me, especially surrounded by experienced delegates; however unfortunately I sometimes still see younger delegates get excluded at events I have volunteered at. Hence why my goal as HSA Coordinator is to provide additional support and inclusivity to Year 9, 10 and 11 students, especially in schools that are not involved with UN+Youth. Stepping into this role will allow me to make sure that younger students have a great experience at their first UN+Youth event and allows me to really give back to UN+Youth for how much it has changed my life.
