  1. Character Building Guidelines and Game Rules
  2.
  3. Level 3
  4. Point Buy ( http://chicken-dinner.com/5e/5e-point-buy.html ) or Standard Array
  5. Vanilla: If it isn’t in an official WotC book it is not legal. (Unearthed Arcana NOT allowed)
  6. All characters will start with a NEUTRAL alignment.
  7. Disregard what was said earlier about firearms. No characters will start with them. The party may will eventually come across them but they are pricey and you will have to gain proficiency with them through downtime training.
  8. There will be opportunities to use any special tools you have so choose wisely.
  9. There are no limits on the number of people with the same class. That should be handled within the group. If you want to run all Fighters, cool. You want to be the only barbarian? Make your case with the party.
  10.
  11.
  12. We will try and use each character’s backstory/background choice throughout the campaign to some extent.
  13.
  14. THIS CAMPAIGN WILL BE TAKING PLACE IN A COMPLETELY NEW PLANE OF EXISTENCE TOTALLY SEPARATE FROM ANY ESTABLISHED PLANES (small cameos at the DM’s discretion are not subject to this rule and references to other characters do not open up for the possibility of crossovers)
  15.
  16. MOST IMPORTANT - YOU WILL ALL BE STARTING IN THE SAME VILLAGE/AREA SO WE NEED TO KNOW WHAT BROUGHT YOU THERE (RICHES, GLORY, ADVENTURE, BUSINESS, ETC.) KEEP IT GENERAL If you need help developing your backstory hit us up.
  17.
  18. If you choose a class or are planning to multiclass into something that needs a Patron or God we MUST KNOW before the campaign starts so we can create one for you within your needs. If you change your mind mid campaign that is TOTALLY ACCEPTABLE but we need a reasonable amount of time to create what you need.
  19.
  20. Have a rough idea of what you want your character to develop into. However, if you have a cool character idea, BUT it will only really "work" if you have something custom, you need to rethink the character.
  21.
  22. Do - Give your character a generalized back story. Example: My character was born in a fishing village to the north. His dad went on a fishing trip and never returned.
  23.
  24. Don’t - Give your character a super detailed backstory that sets location names, cult names, gods, eetc. Example: I am from the cloistered hunting village of Toldsfir to the north. My father was killed when the Ku’Hagar clan of orcs from the north started a war with the humans after uncovering the Orb of Radakast.
  25.
  26.
  27. Throughout the character building process into the campaign if there are any problems or concerns that are brought up in chat a decision will not be made until all parties weigh in and depending on the importance may be resolved in person.
  28.
  29. You WILL need some source of healing. Death will be a very real danger in this campaign.
  30. We will be playing with exhaustion, food, water etc. Whether you have a healer in the party or you have a consistent source of healing potions from someone making them (harder choice) is your choice.
  31.
  32. We will be using the downtime revisited rules from Xanathar’s Guide to Everything for crafting.
  33.
  34. As far as spellcasters are concerned, sharing spells will be on a case by case basis.
  35.
  36. There will be a general list of items that are always for sale in towns depending on size and location. Any items not in the general list (Player’s Handbook) will appear in randomized specialty shops in towns.
  37.
  38. All rolls must be made in front of the ENTIRE table. We will take time at the end of each session when we level up to roll for hp.
  39.
  40. I (we) have a LOT of downtime as you can tell (I wrote this at work) so any and all questions about character building or campaign should be directed to me and I will bring it to the Adam for discussion.
