  1. Hand of Maybe:
  2. **VI / XV / MMXVII**
  3. [The Wheel of Night turns evermore.]
  4. [The dream persists?]
  5.
  6. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:
  7. > MMXVII
  8.
  9. Hand of Maybe:
  10. [Your eyes observe.]
  11. [The Arcana is the means by which all is revealed. There are no beginnings and no ends. Continue?]
  12.
  13. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:
  14. > Continue.
  15.
  16. Emerald:
  17. >continue
  18.
  19. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:
  20. So, 2k17
  21.
  22. Emerald:
  23. ye
  24.
  25. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:
  26. I'm betting Ayaka
  27.
  28. Emerald:
  29. 6/15/2017
  30.
  31. Hand of Maybe:
  32. **PT. 2: IN MEMORIAM.**
  33. [...]
  34. [Your name is Cinavi Kanera. But, you already knew that. The question is one of where you *are*.]
  35.
  36. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:
  37. > Why are we in a different location AGAIN
  38. > For fuck's sake
  39. > What has our life come to
  40.
  41. Hand of Maybe:
  42. [Good question.]
  43. [The darkness in your vision disperses somewhat.]
  44. [You appear to be upon a high castle wall, surrounded by mist. You can't see the ground below it.]
  45. [Now what?]
  46.
  47. Emerald:
  48. >examine surroundings on the wall
  49.
  50. Hand of Maybe:
  51. [Let's see. You can *vaguely* see a tower standing tall at the end of whatever this place is, far upon the horizon. Somewhat closer, you can see a light upon the wall proper, although you cannot make out what the source is.]
  52.
  53. Emerald:
  54. >look around for anything that can be used
  55.
  56. Hand of Maybe:
  57. [There's a loose stone brick.]
  58.
  59. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:
  60. > Is it possible to drop into the castle?
  61.
  62. Hand of Maybe:
  63. [You cannot see the ground upon either side of the wall.]
  64.
  65. Emerald:
  66. >walk over to the stone brick and attempt to pry it open
  67. >check Inventory
  68.
  69. Hand of Maybe:
  70. __Inventory.__
  71. | [Thaumium Knife] | [Quill] | [Four Empty Books w/ TLoL Page] |
  72. | [2 Bottles of Ink] | [Blank Papers] | [Hazel Box] |
  73. | [Voidmetal Plate Armor] | [Bloodstained Crimson Robes] | [Vial of Water] |
  74. Wearing: Mage’s Cloak.
  75. Fragments of the Ring: ∂.
  76.
  77. Emerald:
  78. ok, so items do carry over
  79. >use knife to pry out brick
  80. >or at least cut it
  81.
  82. Hand of Maybe:
  83. [You pry the brick out of its place in the wall. You don't exactly have a *spot* for it, but you just did that.]
  84.
  85. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:
  86. > Begin to walk along the wall, making sure not to fall off.
  87.
  88. Hand of Maybe:
  89. [The place is rather wide. You'll easily make it across.]
  90. [As such, you march toward the light.]
  91. [Through the mist, you make it there successfully. The darkness in the corners of your vision fluctuates several times, and then you can see the place a bit more clearly. It appears to be some sort of tent-thing *upon* the wall. There's someone sitting inside, or so you'd imagine, by the shadow within.]
  92.
  93. Emerald:
  94. >silently approach
  95.
  96. Hand of Maybe:
  97. [You approach. The shadow makes no movements whatsoever.]
  98.
  99. Crystal:
  100. Hm. Examine the tent-thing closer.
  101.
  102. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:
  103. I bet it's Almephera.
  104.
  105. Hand of Maybe:
  106. [In the essentials, it is a large amount of sky-blocking canvas being held up by four long poles, with curtains on all sides. Odd brass, wood, and gold tubes stick out of one of the sides.]
  107.
  108. theedgeofstevensknife:
  109. >check the tubes
  110.
  111. Hand of Maybe:
  112. [You check the tubes. As you watch, a bit of smoke of some sort poofs out of them, with some undeniable cosmic sheen to it. Like they were a reflection of the starry skies above, were they not shrouded in darkness.]
  113.
  114. Crystal:
  115. Hm. Quite interesting.
  116.
  117. Hand of Maybe:
  118. [Do you enter?]
  119.
  120. TwinBuilder:
  121. Of course.
  122.
  123. Bomber57:
  124. Yes.
  125.
  126. Hand of Maybe:
  127. [You do so. Inside, there are several oaken crates lined up against the left wall, and a variety of odd little fires attached to glass orbs and golden tubes and other mysterious nonsense on the right, though a single tube of flexible material extends from the stuff to the centerpiece of the room. In said center is an elderly man with a long gray beard, sitting in the lotus position. He holds the tube's end, which is some odd rectangular object with a tube of magetear protruding from it, and occasionally brings it to his mouth. He doesn't look at you, or even open his eyes.]
  128.
  129. Crystal:
  130. Oh, hey, a cosmorod. Cosmohookah?
  131.
  132. Hand of Maybe:
  133. [As if in response, but not really, as that's impossible, the man blows out a puff of the very same smoke with its cosmic sheen that you just saw earlier.]
  134.
  135. TwinBuilder:
  136. 420blazeit etc.
  137. So... What to do with this stuff.
  138.
  139. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:
  140. Jack it.
  141.
  142. TwinBuilder:
  143. Ask for some?
  144.
  145. Emerald:
  146. Brilliant idea
  147.
  148. TwinBuilder:
  149. Ask for some.
  150.
  151. Emerald:
  152. that was sarcasm
  153.
  154. Hand of Maybe:
  155. [The man's eyes open a few seconds after you ask. You can't tell whether they're a brilliant honey-gold, or a piercing red.]
  156.
  157. Emerald:
  158. but yeah, lets see what happens
  159.
  160. Hand of Maybe:
  161. **Almaerapha: Allow me to be forthright with you. You shouldn’t be here. That you are is some undefinable *glitch* in this world.**
  162.
  163. Emerald:
  164. >Fuck
  165.
  166. Hand of Maybe:
  167. [He chuckles a bit.]
  168. **Almaerapha: That sounds like something you'd say.**
  169. **Almaerapha: ... Hmm. Then again, even if it is just some grand theatre--a stage--you should not be here. **
  170.
  171. Emerald:
  172. >is the glitch anything serious? Or can I ignore it and do stuff anyways?
  173.
  174. Hand of Maybe:
  175. **Almaerapha: It was a figure of speech, young one.**
  176.
  177. TwinBuilder:
  178. And you *should* be here?
  179.
  180. Hand of Maybe:
  181. [> "And you *should* be here?"]
  182. **Almaerapha: I should *be* wherever I so desire to be, I think. You have not come here of choice, however.**
  183.
  184. TwinBuilder:
  185. How did you get Here, then?
  186. You just desired to be Here, and then you showed up?
  187.
  188. Hand of Maybe:
  189. [> "How did you get Here, then?"]
  190. [> "You just desired to be Here, and then you showed up?"]
  191. **Almaerapha: Sure. That works.**
  192.
  193. Emerald:
  194. >"How did *I* get Here? Do you know how I "glitched" the world?"
  195.
  196. TwinBuilder:
  197. Fair enough.
  198.
  199. Hand of Maybe:
  200. [> "How did I get Here? Do you know how I "glitched" the world?"]
  201. **Almaerapha: Contractually obligated not to tell you, again.**
  202.
  203. TwinBuilder:
  204. Do you know how I can escape?
  205.
  206. Hand of Maybe:
  207. [> "Do you know how I can escape?"]
  208.
  209. TwinBuilder:
  210. And also, I believe I asked a question earlier. Could I have some highly illegal(?) space drugs.
  211.
  212. Hand of Maybe:
  213. [He points at you with his free hand.]
  214. **Almaerapha: You have a sixth of the key, do you not?**
  215. [> "And also, I believe I asked a question earlier. Could I have some highly illegal(?) space drugs."]
  216. **Almaerapha: Sure. Have at it. If you overdose, I'm going to kill somebody.**
  217.
  218. Emerald:
  219. >"...can you tell me what you're contractually obligated not to say?"
  220. >"and yes, we have a rune thingy"
  221.
  222. TwinBuilder:
  223. I think I get it. And thanks.
  224.
  225. Hand of Maybe:
  226. [>"...can you tell me what you're contractually obligated not to say?"]
  227. [>"and yes, we have a rune thingy"]
  228. **Almaerapha: No, and ∂. Ahem. Hurts my throat to say that.**
  229. [Now what?]
  230.
  231. Emerald:
  232. >"Can you tell us everything that you aren't contractually obligated not to say?"
  233.
  234. Hand of Maybe:
  235. [>"Can you tell us everything that you aren't contractually obligated not to say?"]
  236. [Almaerapha raises his left arm. Near the wrist, there is some sort of silver device with a golden crystal set in it half-*fused* to the limb.]
  237. **Almaerapha: Everything I know beyond that would probably kill you.**
  238.
  239. TwinBuilder:
  240. Then at least tell us where we can find the next fragment of the ring.
  241.
  242. Hand of Maybe:
  243. [Without speaking, he casually points a thumb behind his back, at the opposite curtain to that through which you entered.]
  244.
  245. TwinBuilder:
  246. Got it.
  247. > Be sure to take some drugs.
  248.
  249. Hand of Maybe:
  250. [Take them as in take them into your inventory, or take them as in smoke some magetear right now.]
  251.
  252. TwinBuilder:
  253. Into our inventory.
  254.
  255. Hand of Maybe:
  256. [Your inventory is full.]
  257.
  258. TwinBuilder:
  259. What? No it isn't.
  260. I think you're ignoring some extra pouches.
  261.
  262. Hand of Maybe:
  263. [You feel an *excruciating* pain in your right wrist.]
  264.
  265. Emerald:
  266. >We can always put it in the Hazel Box
  267.
  268. TwinBuilder:
  269. ...Check inventory.
  270.
  271. Hand of Maybe:
  272. __Inventory.__
  273. | [Thaumium Knife] | [Quill] | [Four Empty Books w/ TLoL Page] |
  274. | [2 Bottles of Ink] | [Blank Papers] | [Hazel Box] |
  275. | [Voidmetal Plate Armor] | [Bloodstained Crimson Robes] | [Vial of Water] |
  276. Wearing: Mage’s Cloak.
  277. Fragments of the Ring: ∂.
  278.
  279. TwinBuilder:
  280. Fuck. That didn't work.
  281.
  282. SplitSuns:
  283. what happened
  284.
  285. TwinBuilder:
  286. I tried using the logogram to give us extra inventory space.
  287. *Tried.*
  288.
  289. SplitSuns:
  290. is something in our right wrist now
  291.
  292. TwinBuilder:
  293. That's where the logogram is.
  294.
  295. SplitSuns:
  296. WHEEEE
  297. ignore me
  298.
  299. TwinBuilder:
  300. Try putting the drugs in the Hazel Box, sure.
  301.
  302. Bomber57:
  303. Well we just marathon used it for what I assume to be the first time moments ago, or rather two days ago.
  304.
  305. Emerald:
  306. >tap where the logogram is with our other hand
  307.
  308. Bomber57:
  309. Still, we should probably let it rest for a while.
  310.
  311. Hand of Maybe:
  312. [You place the Magetear Smoking Kit into the largest compartment of the Hazel Box. You also poke the Logogram of Lives with your left index finger. Nothing happens.]
  313.
  314. TwinBuilder:
  315. Be sure to thank Almaerapha once again, and move on.
  316.
  317. Hand of Maybe:
  318. [You turn to thank the man, and he nods, the familiar symbol inscribed deeply upon his forehead in cosmic ink glinting as he does. Then, you blink, and he is gone.]
  319. [You proceed onward.]
  320.
  321. SplitSuns:
  322. what's our goal exactly?
  323. sorry i need to brush up on my lore here
  324.
  325. TwinBuilder:
  326. It seems to be to collect a bunch of symbols known as the 'fragments of the Ring.'
  327. We're doing that by wandering around and doing random shit.
  328.
  329. SplitSuns:
  330. nice
  331.
  332. TwinBuilder:
  333. > Examine new surroundings, if possible?
  334.
  335. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:
  336. WHY AM I ON DND
  337.
  338. Hand of Maybe:
  339. [You expect to come out on the other side of the tent on the wall, but you are now within a stone chamber. Turning back, you see that there is no opening in the wall behind you. There is a wodden ladder on the far end of the wall, leading upwards, and some sort of chest in the corner of the room.]
  340.
  341. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:
  342. > Open chest.
  343.
  344. Emerald:
  345. >whistle Legend of Zelda Opening Chest theme
  346.
  347. Hand of Maybe:
  348. [Inside, there are several things. Some gears, balls of crumpled paper, split ink, a bloodstained glass bottle, a broken dagger blade, and some sort of odd eyepatch.]
  349.
  350. Emerald:
  351. >examine eyepatch
  352. >aaargh, matey
  353.
  354. Hand of Maybe:
  355. [CONJURER'S ARTIFICE: An eyepatch with two central lenses on it, each for a pupil of an eye, placed in a manner reminiscent of the dark lens of a pair of glasses once worn by a particular Thief of Light. One is composed of a thick aubergine crystal, and allows one to see the aura in the world around them. The other, a green lens, permits one to sight the intrinsic aura of living beings. This thing is literally not going to function at higher than fifty percent capacity unless you have polycoria.]
  356.
  357. Emerald:
  358. >put it on anyways
  359.
  360. TwinBuilder:
  361. Good thing we have polycoria.
  362.
  363. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:
  364. Yep.
  365.
  366. Emerald:
  367. Mmhmm
  368.
  369. TwinBuilder:
  370. Put it on.
  371.
  372. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:
  373. Diagnosed with it as a child.
  374.
  375. Hand of Maybe:
  376. [You do so.]
  377.
  378. Emerald:
  379. Streak of luck, that
  380.
  381. Hand of Maybe:
  382. [You *distinctly* recall creating that thing on your control run into some war or other.]
  383.
  384. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:
  385. > See if there's any writing on the paper.
  386.
  387. Emerald:
  388. >check to see if any clothes we're carrying has pockets
  389.
  390. Hand of Maybe:
  391. [Your inventory is full, and you have no usable pockets at present. And, there is indeed writing on the paper.]
  392.
  393. TwinBuilder:
  394. Read it.
  395.
  396. Hand of Maybe:

  465. That's Bill. There's no way that isn't Bill.
  466.
  467. Bomber57:
  468. I'd be more surprised if it wasn't Bill.
  469.
  470. TwinBuilder:
  471. Moreover, I think that's Bill from when Erelye summoned him in Limbo that one time.

  479. Emerald:
  480. I like how we're basically using the book as places to keep pages we find
  481.
  482. TwinBuilder:
  483. Head up the wooden ladder.
  484.
  485. Hand of Maybe:
  486. [You ascend.]
  487. [The room above is packed with large objects, them being two large stone tablets about the height of the ceiling, and one large white hemisphere of a holographic projector. At least, you think.]
  488.
  489. Emerald:
  490. >walk over to one of the tablets and examine it
  491.
  492. Hand of Maybe:
  493. [Do you examine the tablet on the left side of the room, or the tablet on the right side of the room?]
  494.
  495. Emerald:
  496. >left
  497. >the left one, right?
  498.
  499. Hand of Maybe:
  500. [You examine the left tablet.]
  501.
  502. Emerald:
  503. >haha, wordplay. I'm hilarious
  504.
  505. Hand of Maybe:
  506. [There is a small inscription at the bottom of the tablet. The vast majority of the thing, however, depicts a *massive* emaciated arm and spidery hand, reaching for the skies above, each finger terminating in a claw. If you had to guess, you'd say it looked like it was made of some sort of deep red carapace, or bone. There is a large eyeball in the palm of the hand, with a black iris, and a shimmering cosmic pupil, radiating with kaleidoscopic light.]

  551. Hand of Maybe:

  553.
  554. Crystal:
  555. Activate the projector, then.
  556.
  557. Hand of Maybe:
  558. [You do so. Immediately, the thing projects the image of a large stone ring broken up into six segments. Then, it lowers itself to your level, separating and flattening into a six-segmented line. Below the first segment, six touch-interfaceable symbols appear. μ, /, ∂, ∞, ∑, and √.]
  559.
  560. Crystal:
  561. Hm. Select the third.
  562.
  563. Hand of Maybe:
  564. [You do so.]
  565. [It lights up, and moves in midair wherever you take your finger.]
  566.
  567. Crystal:
  568. Hm.... I think we shouldn't close this projector.
  569. Is there anything else we can interact with in the projection.
  570.
  571. Hand of Maybe:
  572. [You appear to be able to slot symbols in the segments of the line, but that's about it.]

  585. See which has the del.
  586.
  587. Hand of Maybe:
  588. [You do so. It's the first one. That's the only symbol on the thing, however.]
  589.
  590. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:
  591. Wait, it's probably on an image Erelye sent me
  592. Oh god I'm going to have to dig through all of that

  597. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:

  600. Crystal:
  601. Alright, so place the del in the first segment.
  602.

  610. Hand of Maybe:

  613. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:

  616. Crystal:

  628. Crystal:
  629. Oh.
  630. Infinity symbol in last slot, perhaps.
  631.
  632. Hand of Maybe:

A lowercase gamma appears in the center of the ring for about half of a second before the entire thing shuts down with a crack. The projector core has shattered, and something is floating out of the shards.]

  736. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:
  737. ...
  738. Oh my god.

  742.
  743. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:
  744. Yeah, that's a really big blunder Erelye.
  745.
  746. Hand of Maybe:

  748.
  749. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:
  750. FUCK
  751.
  752. Emerald:
  753. There was that door at the other end of the hallway, a while beyond the tablets
  754.
  755. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:

  757. SORRY TWIN

  765. TwinBuilder:
  766. He's trying to cover up the fact that there's actually a door there.
  767.
  768. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:
  769. Yep.
  770. Must be hard when you realise you failed as a GM.
  771.
  772. Hand of Maybe:
  773. [The pain grows even more, and your head throbs. You *think* you see the eyes of the two hands on the tablets blink, but you're sure you're imagining it.]
  774.
  775. TwinBuilder:
  776. Take some thybital, perhaps?
  777.
  778. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:
  779. Dude just give us the fucking door
  780.
  781. TwinBuilder:
  782. That should stop the pain.
  783.
  784. Hand of Maybe:
  785. [You're missing something.]
  786.
  787. TwinBuilder:
  788. Look at the hands on the tablets.
  789.
  790. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:
  791. If you don't give us the door to walk through that was already there then you are a SHITTY GM and should be ASHAMED
  792.
  793. Hand of Maybe:
  794. [They're still the same as they were when you first examined them. Get this--the tablets are *three-dimensional*, however, and have a back side you can't see by just looking at their front.]
  795.
  796. Emerald:
  797. >go to the back of the tablets
  798.
  799. TwinBuilder:
  800. Spooky.
  801.
  802. Hand of Maybe:
  803. [You do so.]

  805. Emerald:

  807. >examine tablet on the left back
  808.
  809. Hand of Maybe:
  810. [The back of the two tablets seems to depict a single scene, split in half down the middle.]
  811.
  812. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:
  813. And the scene is?
  814.
  815. Hand of Maybe:
  816. [It appears to be a man in yellow and red robes with a long black beard and dark skin *stitching* masses of blue and red leaking black and white blood together.]
  817.
  818. Emerald:
  819. >note that that's creepy
  820.
  821. Hand of Maybe:
  822. [As you observe it, noting its creepiness, you suddenly fall through the ceiling.]
  823.
  824. Crystal:

  832.
  833. Emerald:
  834. ~~obviously we use the painkiller. In midair. You know, a syringe.~~
  835.
  836. Hand of Maybe:
  837. [Whilst you flail about wildly, you smack face-first into a cold, stone floor.]
  838.
  839. JOE:
  840. ~~maybe *don't* do that~~
  841. ~~you might lose the syringe~~

  855.
  856. JOE:
  857. >~~Ouw now! my nobe muth be powesd by powawul weing!~~

  871.
  872. Hand of Maybe:
  873. [You appear to be on the roof of an *incredibly* tall tower. There is no way downstairs. In the center of the floor, there is a stone ring, separated into four segments. The fourth is entirely shattered into dust, however.]
  874.
  875. JOE:
  876. [backhi]
  877.
  878. Hand of Maybe:
  879. [Peering over the edge, you see only the shadows.]
  880.
  881. JOE:
  882. [wait so if I say "you are a god of unmatched and infinite power" long enough, that becomes true?]
  883.
  884. TwinBuilder:
  885. Is there anything interesting about the four segments?
  886.
  887. Emerald:
  888. >ignore JOE being weird and trying to break things
  889.
  890. Hand of Maybe:
  891. [Besides the fourth being destroyed? They seem entirely unremarkable. At least, in *looking* at them alone. With your good/bad eye, depending on how you look at it, and the Conjurer's Artifice, you see the things pulsating with auric energies.]
  892.
  893. Emerald:
  894. I have a stupid idea
  895. Take one of the pieces of paper, and, using mage tear as ink, replicate the symbols and draw the logogram as the missing fourth rune
  896.
  897. Hand of Maybe:
  898. [There are no runes upon the segments.]
  899.
  900. Emerald:
  901. >symbols
  902.
  903. Hand of Maybe:
  904. [You're going to have to be more clear than that. Do you mean to say that you draw the six symbols from the projector on the paper, and then the Logogram of Lives?]
  905.
  906. Emerald:
  907. The symbols on the ground
  908.
  909. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:
  910. Is each segment pulsating with the same energies?
  911.
  912. Hand of Maybe:
  913. [Each is, yes. Save for the destroyed one.]
  914.
  915. Emerald:
  916. (Sorry for being vague, I'm eating dinner)
  917.
  918. Hand of Maybe:
  919. [There are no symbols on the ground.]
  920.
  921. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:
  922. Does the dust have auric energies?
  923.
  924. Emerald:
  925. ..I'm an idiot
  926.
  927. Hand of Maybe:
  928. [The dust does not appear to radiate any, no.]
  929.
  930. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:
  931. Yo, Erelye?
  932. Are you sure it's destroyed?
  933.
  934. Emerald:
  935. >examine the auric energy, closing the eye that can't see the energy
  936.
  937. Hand of Maybe:
  938. [I don't think you want to do that, ConsumerOfAll.]
  939.
  940. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:
  941. Are you sure?
  942.
  943. Hand of Maybe:
  944. [I mean, be my guest.]
  945.
  946. TwinBuilder:
  947. We honestly probably shouldn't do that.
  948.
  949. Hand of Maybe:
  950. [You examine the energy. It's sort of aubergine and light violet, writhing intensely.]
  951.
  952. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:
  953. Okay yeah no fuck that shit
  954.
  955. Emerald:
  956. ~~obviously we have to inject ourselves with the stuff of nightmares~~
  957.
  958. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:
  959. Is the roof separated into four segments as well or something, or is the ring the only point of interest?
  960.
  961. Hand of Maybe:
  962. [Only the ring.]
  963.
  964. Emerald:
  965. Sweep the dust away with our foot
  966.
  967. Hand of Maybe:
  968. [You do so.]
  969. [Immediately, the three remaining segments of the ring levitate into the air.]
  970.
  971. TwinBuilder:
  972. Try peering over the edge using the Conjurer's Artifice.
  973. OH OK
  974.
  975. Emerald:
  976. Alright that just happened
  977. Fear me! I do the right thing occasionally!
  978.
  979. Hand of Maybe:
  980. [They twist about, orbiting a particular space in the air in a spherical path. You think--wisely--to remove the Conjurer's Artifice from your face just as a pinprick of *unbearable* golden light pours forth from the center of the thing. A word appears on each fragment of the ring, and pure energy flows forth from the former pinprick, forming a physical entity. It screeches intensely at you, throwing you back a good meter with the sheer force.]
  981. [This energy looks familiar. One number comes to mind.]
  982. [953.]
  983.
  984. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:
  985. Oh shit.
  986.
  987. Hand of Maybe:
  988. ((/AFK for dinner. Coming back to finish this. Cliffhanger, et cetera, *be there.*))
  989.
  990. TwinBuilder:
  991. Got it.
  992.
  993. Emerald:
  994. Oh good
  995. We should probably strategize
  996. Do you think we can absorb the energy into the Logogram?
  997.
  998. TwinBuilder:
  999. Probably not?
  1000.
  1001. theedgeofstevensknife:
1002. okay i rolled "hive delight"
1003. even though it's technically supposed to be thought up, huh
  1004. uh
  1005.
  1006. TwinBuilder:
  1007. *oh*, duh
  1008. that's a good idea

  1023. Emerald:

  1026. TwinBuilder:
  1027. 'dimension 953' was a concept introduced in DTG0

  1121.
  1122. JOE:

  1127.
  1128. Hand of Maybe:
1129. [It doesn't. And, you haven't been able to use it thus far in this place, but the pain of failure has been growing *steadily* weaker.]
  1130.
  1131. TwinBuilder:
1132. Realize that the 'IMMORTAL' was actually a typo. It should say 'MORTAL.' Not sure how we missed that, honestly.
  1133.
  1134. JOE:
1135. [what abilitys do we have then, besides logogram]
  1136.
  1137. Emerald:
  1138. A knife
  1139. That's what
  1140.
  1141. Hand of Maybe:
1142. [The Shibboleth points out that the word "MORTAL" is actually Shendevian for "GODLESS INFINITE DEATHBEAST," and crackles with arcane energy.]
  1143.
  1144. JOE:
  1145. ruuuunnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
1146. is something we should probably dooooooooooooooooooo
  1147.
  1148. TwinBuilder:
1149. I point out that the phrase 'GODLESS INFINITE DEATHBEAST' is slang for 'utter weakling' in Shendevian.
  1150.
  1151. Emerald:
1152. >tell the elemental it might want to go to the doctor, that energy doesn't look healthy
  1153.
  1154. Crystal:
1155. Oh my god, this thing does the arguing-with-the-GM thing right back at us. Incredible.
  1156.
  1157. Hand of Maybe:
1158. [The Shibboleth laughs in your face, and slaps you with an open Shendevian textbook displaying that GODLESS INFINITE DEATHBEAST means godless infinite deathbeast.]
  1159.
  1160. JOE:
1161. I also point out that this entire conversation is *obviously* in doydoyish
  1162.
  1163. TwinBuilder:
  1164. That's third edition.
  1165.
  1166. Hand of Maybe:

  1181. Hand of Maybe:
  1182. [Ninety-seventh.]
  1183.
  1184. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:

  1204.
  1205. Emerald:
  1206. Kek
  1207.
  1208. JOE:
1209. in this case, what was previously refered to as GODLESS INFINITE DEATHBEAST means Dumb Weak Guy in doydoyish
  1210.
  1211. Crystal:
1212. Well, you see, textbooks often don't display the true meaning of the language.
  1213.
  1214. Hand of Maybe:
  1215. [4,000 damage.]
  1216.
  1217. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:

  1220. Crystal:
1221. As used by the person on the street.
  1222.
  1223. Emerald:
  1224. Alright, screw this
  1225.
  1226. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:
  1227. Therefore it *does*.
  1228.
  1229. Emerald:
1230. Pull out knife and stab Elemental in face
  1231.
  1232. JOE:
1233. there is no doydoyish way to say "i'm not talking in doydoyish".
  1234.
  1235. Hand of Maybe:
1236. [The Shibboleth points out that Doydoyish isn't a real language, and that you just made it up.]
  1237.
  1238. JOE:
1239. [actually its been a thing a long time]
  1240.
  1241. TwinBuilder:
1242. I point out that Shendevian isn't a real language, and he just made it up.
  1243.
  1244. JOE:
1245. [i use it all the time]
  1246.
  1247. TwinBuilder:
1248. We've been arguing with fake words this entire time.
  1249.
  1250. Emerald:
1251. It doesn't realize that doydoyish was merely a distraction, and now has several stab wounds
  1252.
  1253. JOE:
  1254. [in real life anyway]
  1255.
  1256. Hand of Maybe:
1257. [The Shibboleth agrees, and sews your mouth shut.]
  1258.
  1259. theedgeofstevensknife:
1260. I cut off the "IM" from "IMMORTAL" manually.
  1261.
  1262. Hand of Maybe:
  1263. [How?]
  1264.
  1265. TwinBuilder:
1266. I unzip my mouth with the zipper that was always on it.
  1267.
  1268. theedgeofstevensknife:
  1269. with a knife
  1270.
  1271. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:
  1272. I sew the Shibboleth's mouth shut.
  1273.
  1274. Hand of Maybe:
1275. [There was never a zipper.]
  1276.
  1277. TwinBuilder:
  1278. There were never stitches.
  1279.
  1280. Emerald:
  1281. Of course there was
  1282.
  1283. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:
  1284. Equal punishment.
  1285.
  1286. Hand of Maybe:
1287. [The Shibboleth doesn't have a mouth, and your knife just broke.]
  1288.
  1289. theedgeofstevensknife:
1290. ah damn, we lost our eleventh knife.
1291. good thing we still have 10
  1292.
  1293. Emerald:
1294. Time for the twelfth, I guess
  1295.
  1296. JOE:
1297. think the following thoughts very hard: "there was never a zipper" means "you are now the owner of all my power, and indistructible besides" in doydoyish
  1298.
  1299. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:
1300. Do you know what our knife was?
  1301. Shibboleth.
  1302.
  1303. JOE:
  1304. so 'Nightmare's Attendant - Today at 6:26 PM
1305. [There was never a zipper.]'
  1306. means
  1307. Nightmare's Attendant - Today at 6:26 PM
1308. [you are now the owner of all my power, and indistructible besides]
  1309.
  1310. Hand of Maybe:
1311. [The Shibboleth buys the rights to Doydoyish, and changes the words in your sentence to mean "vicious cybermonkeys attack me."]
  1312.
  1313. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:
  1314. So Shibboleth just broke.
  1315.
  1316. JOE:
  1317. I explain that i technically don't own doydoyish
  1318.
  1319. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:
  1320. Oops.
  1321.
  1322. JOE:
  1323. [mentaly explain]
  1324.
  1325. theedgeofstevensknife:
  1326. >Fake a screenshot wherein we win.
  1327.
  1328. Hand of Maybe:
1329. [The Shibboleth reveals it was never the knife. You were.]
1330. [And you fake the screenshot, sure. Nothing happens.]
  1331.
  1332. theedgeofstevensknife:
  1333. damn
  1334.
  1335. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:
1336. How can we own ourself?
  1337.
  1338. Hand of Maybe:
  1339. [You don't.]
  1340.
  1341. JOE:
1342. I just have permission to use it, which was given to me by a being who is no longer exist, but did not give me permission to let other people use it.
  1343.
  1344. Hand of Maybe:
1345. [The Shibboleth owns you now.]
  1346.
  1347. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:
1348. So we're not our knife.
  1349.
  1350. theedgeofstevensknife:
1351. okay so does that mean there are 10 more of us now
  1352.
  1353. Emerald:
1354. I argue that since we were the knife, we must have broken, and since we are here, unbroken, the knife never broke, so we still have the knife
  1355.
  1356. Crystal:
1357. Ah, but you see, we were never ourself! We were the Shibboleth, and thus it breaks as originally planned.
  1358.
  1359. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:
1360. Unless us and the Shibboleth are the same person!
  1361.
  1362. Hand of Maybe:
1363. [The Shibboleth takes 3 damage at Crystal's words.]
  1364.
  1365. JOE:
1366. which means nobody else can buy rights to doydoyish or otherwise control its meaning.
  1367. only me
1368. and the real me at that
  1369.
  1370. theedgeofstevensknife:
  1371. >Pull out another knife.
  1372.
  1373. TwinBuilder:
1374. I think the Shibboleth should know that the word 'BULLSHIT' in the phrase 'IMMORTAL ENERGY BULLSHIT' implies that the energy is incredibly obtuse, difficult, and just plain fucking stupid. Therefore, it is nigh-impossible to control.
  1375.
  1376. JOE:
1377. because the nolongerexistsbeing is meta
  1378.
  1379. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:
1380. Since we're the Shibboleth, the Shibboleth commits suicide.
  1381.
  1382. TwinBuilder:
1383. The Shibboleth's immortal energy turns into a tower of fecal matter.
  1384. Immortal fecal matter.
  1385. It is his prison.
  1386.
  1387. Hand of Maybe:
1388. ((Please calm down with the posting. I can't keep up. Kek.))
  1389.
  1390. Emerald:
  1391. These are interesting fights
  1392.
  1393. JOE:
1394. [so in summery, my statments are 'nobody else can control doydoyish and i can't change that']
  1395.
  1396. theedgeofstevensknife:
1397. we are like 10 steps past that right now
  1398.
  1399. Hand of Maybe:
1400. [The Shibboleth kills all nine other non-you you knives. Doydoyish no longer exists, by which the Shibboleth means it never did. The Shibboleth laugh's at Twin's weak brain, and revels in the fact that you apparently do not know the true meaning of BULLSHIT.]
  1401.
  1402. JOE:
1403. I [as in JOE] phone a guy of infinite power and ask him to invent hsiyodyod for me
1404. it works exactly like i thought doydoyish did
  1405. the guy then unexists
  1406. because OPscale
  1407.
  1408. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:
1409. But you aren't fighting the Shibboleth!
  1410. Cinavi Kanera is!
  1411.
  1412. Hand of Maybe:
1413. [The Shibboleth agrees, on the condition that you fight for him in eternal servitude, as a pro-Shibboleth entity [PS].]
  1414.
  1415. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:
  1416. And we're Cinavi Kanera!
  1417.
  1418. Hand of Maybe:
1419. [No, you aren't. The Shibboleth points out you are *controlling* her.]
  1420.
  1421. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:
  1422. fuck
  1423.
  1424. theedgeofstevensknife:
1425. No, we're controlling the Shibboleth.
  1426. Obviously.
1427. We just went over this
  1428.
  1429. Hand of Maybe:
  1430. [Alright.]
  1431. [...]
1432. [Your name is the CREATIVITY SHIBBOLETH.]
  1433.
  1434. TwinBuilder:
  1435. what the fuck
  1436.
  1437. theedgeofstevensknife:
  1438. i can't believe that fucking worked
  1439.
  1440. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:
1441. > We want to die.
  1442.
  1443. Crystal:
  1444. Examine self.
  1445.
  1446. TwinBuilder:
  1447. What? No we don't.
  1448.
  1449. Hand of Maybe:
  1450. [> Examine self.]
  1451.
  1452. theedgeofstevensknife:
  1453. Yes we do
  1454.
  1455. TwinBuilder:
1456. We want to help Cinavi Kanera in their quest to find the Fragments of the Ring in any way that we possibly can. We want to be her ally, just like how Rubble was.
  1457. Obviously.
  1458.
  1459. JOE:
1460. once thats done,we want to kick self in throat until ded.
  1461. OBVIOUSLY
  1462.
  1463. theedgeofstevensknife:
1464. that seems like a hard sell
  1465.
  1466. JOE:
1467. but only once thats done
  1468.
  1469. Hand of Maybe:
1470. [You are a mass of pure, unlimited Dimension 953 energy supercharged with godmodding energies, and designated a form by the FRAGMENTS OF OSTROTIUM. You point out to yourself that Cinavi Kanera is a horrible person, a servant of the Lord-Archmage Effiruin, and an overall complicit accomplice of his genocides, and refuse to help her.]
  1471.
  1472. Emerald:
1473. We want blood. But we don't particularly care how we get it. So, when Cinavi Kanera cuts herself with her knife and puts the blood in a cup, we will drink it peacefully
  1474.
  1475. Hand of Maybe:
1476. [You no longer want blood, actually.]
  1477.
  1478. JOE:
1479. in that case, kick self in throat til ded
  1480.
  1481. Hand of Maybe:
1482. [You just want to crush this puny elf into paste.]
  1483.
  1484. JOE:
1485. you have no meaning in life
1486. since you don't want blood
  1487. and everything is blood
  1488.
  1489. Hand of Maybe:
  1490. [Nah.]
  1491.
  1492. TwinBuilder:
  1493. What? No you don't.
  1494.
  1495. JOE:
1496. blood is the power of vengence
  1497.
  1498. TwinBuilder:
1499. You want to crush *this* puny elf into paste.
  1500. *Points to Erelye*
  1501.
  1502. Hand of Maybe:
  1503. [Who?]
  1504.
  1505. JOE:
1506. the power of blood is all
  1507. Vengence of night
  1508.
  1509. TwinBuilder:
  1510. The one controlling you.
  1511.
  1512. Emerald:
  1513. You know, Erelye
  1514.
  1515. TwinBuilder:
1516. Once you kill him, you can be truly free.
  1517.
  1518. Hand of Maybe:
1519. [Do you mean the Nightmare's Attendant? He's not an elf.]
  1520.
  1521. Emerald:
1522. With him in control, you are never free
  1523.
  1524. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:
1525. Kalare Vanarus Erelye, of course.
  1526.
  1527. Hand of Maybe:
  1528. [Who?]
  1529.
  1530. Emerald:
1531. Do you want to be a slave forever, a slave to the Nightmare's Attendant?
  1532.
  1533. Hand of Maybe:
  1534. [Yes.]
  1535.
  1536. Emerald:
  1537. Why?
  1538.
  1539. Crystal:
  1540. Why?
  1541.
  1542. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:
1543. You know, Kalare Vanarus Erelye?
  1544.
  1545. Hand of Maybe:
  1546. [Oland.]
  1547.

2099. I tell the Shibboleth that it is simultaneously made of creativity, and of Godmodding energy. As this is true, based on what happened when we took over said Shibboleth the first time, I point out DTG 1, and 2, specifically the Godmodders actions. As the Godmodder uses Godmodding energy, I point out that what nearly everything the Godmodder did was uncreative, which means it can be assumed Godmodding energy is uncreative. As the Shibboleth is simultaneously made of conflicting materials, it explodes
  2100.
  2101. TwinBuilder:
2102. Grab an Orbiter Fragment and throw it over the edge, into the infinite darkness below.
  2103.
  2104. Hand of Maybe:
2105. [The Shibboleth agrees, but makes the two conflicting energies coexist through a peace treaty. And, which Orbiter Fragment?]
  2106.
  2107. TwinBuilder:
  2108. ENERGY.
  2109.
  2110. Emerald:
  2111. Dang
  2112.
  2113. Hand of Maybe:
2114. [You do that. You hear a crack far, far below.]
  2115.
  2116. Emerald:
2117. I hoped that would worm
  2118. Work
  2119.
  2120. TwinBuilder:
2121. Any noticable change in the Shibboleth?
  2122.
  2123. Hand of Maybe:
2124. [It collapses into liquid, yes.]
  2125.
  2126. TwinBuilder:
  2127. ...
  2128.
  2129. Emerald:
  2130. Alright then
  2131.
  2132. TwinBuilder:
  2133. `A WINRAR IS YOU`
  2134.
  2135. Emerald:
2136. Scoop up some liquid Shibboleth into the empty bottle we got from the chest earlier
  2137.
  2138. Hand of Maybe:
2139. [The other two orbiters fall to the floor of the tower, and break into chunks.]
2140. [You scoop up some of the Shibboleth, as well.]
  2141.
  2142. Crystal:
2143. Liquid creativity... Yeah. We can use this.
  2144.
  2145. Emerald:
  2146. >examine recently gained liquid
  2147.
  2148. Hand of Maybe:
2149. [Bottle of Shibboleth: A bottle filled with a curious golden energy, like honey, but also goldenrod, like some sort of finality. You're not quite sure why--the center of the liquid begins to pulse with a shadowy nothingness.]
  2150.
  2151. Emerald:
2152. Take out a blank piece of paper, scoop some liquid Shibboleth into an empty synringe (so we have a syringe and a bottle full), and gran the Stuff of Nightmares. Drip a drop of liquid Shibboleth into the paper, and then a drop of the Stuff of Nightmares on top of it
  2153.
  2154. Crystal:
  2155. Oop. Best not.
2156. Why are you doing that.
  2157.
  2158. Hand of Maybe:
2159. ((BRB. Wait like five minutes here, please.))
  2160.
  2161. Emerald:
  2162. Science!
  2163.
  2164. Crystal:
2165. Let's not science while we could be killed by the monstrous products, please.
  2166.
  2167. Emerald:
2168. Plus it might be useful to see how they interact, we might be able to use combined Creativity and Nightmares somewhere else
  2169.
  2170. Crystal:
2171. Especially if it's creativity plus nightmares.
  2172.
  2173. Emerald:
2174. Anywhere we test we can be killed by it. Better here where we know we won't be ambushed
2175. That is the most suicidial logic I have ever written
  2176.
  2177. Bomber57:
  2178. Yeah so don't.

  2185.
  2186. TwinBuilder:
  2187. I'd rather we *don't* get killed.
  2188. Leave the stuff alone.

  2202.
  2203. TwinBuilder:
  2204. Any exits?
  2205.
  2206. Hand of Maybe:
2207. [On the tower? Still no. The bottle's internals continue to throb with dark energies.]
  2208.
  2209. Emerald:
2210. >examine the segments now that Twin threw one of them off the edge
  2211.
  2212. Hand of Maybe:
2213. [As was aforementioned, the remaining segments fell to the floor after, and cracked into chunks of stone.]
  2214.
  2215. Crystal:
2216. Oh. Uh. Back away from the bottle.
2217. Place it on the floor and back away.
2218. Also, examine the area for any sign of a mu.
  2219.
  2220. Hand of Maybe:
2221. [You do so. The throbbing only grows, soon engulfing the entirety of the bottle's liquid.]
2222. [There is no μ around.]
  2223.
  2224. Emerald:
  2225. >interesting

  2227. TwinBuilder:
  2228. Put on the Artifice.
2229. Or just, use it, I guess.
  2230.
  2231. Hand of Maybe:
2232. [The top of the bottle, near the neck, starts to crack. Looking at the thing under the Conjurer's Artifice, however, you note that said cracks throb with a peculiar red you haven't seen in a *while* now.]
2233. [... At least, that's what you liken it to.]
  2234.
  2235. TwinBuilder:
2236. Throw it over the edge. Now.
  2237. Anyone disagree with me?
  2238.
  2239. Crystal:
  2240. !9 disagreements. Absolutely none.
  2241.
  2242. Emerald:
  2243. ~~but Science!~~
  2244.
  2245. Hand of Maybe:
2246. [You pick up the bottle, and throw it over the edge.]
2247. [It shatters in midair, and a dark gas pours out, slowly coalescing into a humanoid form.]
  2248.
  2249. BIG. STRONG. TREMENDOUS.:
2250. When did you last see the red?
  2251.
  2252. Hand of Maybe:
2253. [The night before your failed assassination attempt. On the screen of your communicator.]
2254. [The shadows in the corners of your vision creep inwards on you for just a second, before receding. The coalescing gas rises to reach you on eye level.]

  2294. That is pretty bad.
2295. Well, there *is* a floor at the bottom...
  2296.
  2297. Crystal:
2298. Are there any other exits...
  2299.
  2300. TwinBuilder:
2301. Use the logogram to push back the darkness, revealing a clearly obvious ladder.
  2302.
  2303. Hand of Maybe:
2304. [You should probably clarify that you can face it *physically*. Just probably not emotionally. And, in any case, your Logogram pings painfully against your wrist.]
  2305.
  2306. TwinBuilder:
2307. I know what you meant.
  2308.
  2309. Hand of Maybe:

  2601. [What do you do?]
  2602.
  2603. Emerald:
  2604. >go into the vents
2605. >keep close watch on the enviroment's aura to make sure nothing changes that would indicate gas
  2606.
  2607. Hand of Maybe:
2608. [Arcane aura is entirely different from poison gas in the vents, afraid. But you climb into the vents nonetheless, just as the security camera rematerializes.]
  2609.
  2610. Emerald:
  2611. >convenient
  2612. >move forward
  2613.
  2614. Hand of Maybe:
  2615. [Left, or right.]
  2616.
  2617. TwinBuilder:
2618. Do you actually *know* where you're going.
  2619.
  2620. Hand of Maybe:
  2621. [Sort of.]
2622. [The goal *would've* been to rendezvous at the tower-top, but you're not exactly certain how viable that is right now.]
  2623.
  2624. Emerald:
  2625. >lets go left
  2626.
  2627. TwinBuilder:
  2628. Go left, sure.
  2629.
  2630. Hand of Maybe:
2631. [You head left. There are three potential drop-downs into the halls from here, as well as one way *up*.]
  2632.
  2633. TwinBuilder:
  2634. Try going up.
  2635.
  2636. Hand of Maybe:
2637. [You go up. There's one way forward, and then three ways *out* into the side of the hall through ventilation plates.]
  2638.
  2639. Emerald:
  2640. >onward!
  2641. >aka forward
  2642.
  2643. TwinBuilder:
  2644. Go out.
  2645. eh
  2646. go forward
  2647.
  2648. Hand of Maybe:
2649. [As well as a way up through a moving fan, but you're not exactly fond of that plan. And, forward.]
  2650. [Left, or right.]
  2651.
  2652. Emerald:
2653. >wait, what if we destabilize the fan?
  2654.
  2655. TwinBuilder:
2656. couldn't you destabilize the fan?
  2657.
  2658. Emerald:
  2659. >could that work?
  2660.
  2661. Hand of Maybe:
  2662. [Want to find out?]
  2663.
  2664. TwinBuilder:
  2665. well
2666. does our matter destabilizer need to recharge in between uses.
  2667.
  2668. Hand of Maybe:
  2669. [Not really.]
  2670.
  2671. Emerald:
2672. >is it ranged or melee?
  2673.
  2674. Hand of Maybe:
  2675. [Melee.]
  2676.
  2677. TwinBuilder:
  2678. then it's worth a shot?
  2679.
  2680. Emerald:
2681. >What is the interior of the vent composed of?
  2682.
  2683. Hand of Maybe:
  2684. [Corotite.]
  2685.
  2686. Emerald:
2687. >is it a bunch of separate connected plates, or is it completely smooth?
  2688.
  2689. Hand of Maybe:
  2690. [Separate plates.]
  2691.
  2692. Emerald:
2693. >what are the plates connected by?
  2694.
  2695. Hand of Maybe:
2696. [If your study of the building's schematics are anything to go by, sealant hydrogel.]
  2697.
  2698. Emerald:
2699. >as well as, what direction is the fan turning? Are you likely to be pulled in or pushed away?
  2700.
  2701. Hand of Maybe:
  2702. [Pulled in.]
  2703.
  2704. Emerald:
2705. >how thick is the connections of hydrogel?
  2706.
  2707. Hand of Maybe:
  2708. [A few centimeters.]
  2709.
  2710. TwinBuilder:
2711. okay, can you *see* the direction the path leads if you were to head through the fan.
  2712.
  2713. Hand of Maybe:
2714. [As far as you can see, *directly* up, as far as your vision goes.]
  2715.
  2716. Emerald:
2717. >can you fit your fingers in there, if there was a gap?
  2718.
  2719. Hand of Maybe:
  2720. [*A* finger.]
  2721.
  2722. TwinBuilder:
2723. you can't see the exit, then.
  2724.
  2725. Emerald:
  2726. >what about your feet?
  2727.
  2728. Hand of Maybe:
  2729. [No, and no.]
  2730.
  2731. Emerald:
  2732. (imma say probably not)
  2733.
  2734. TwinBuilder:
  2735. I don't think it's worth it
  2736.
  2737. Emerald:
  2738. Hmm
  2739.
  2740. TwinBuilder:
2741. if they corner us they'll just shoot us and we'll be trapped by the fan
  2742.
  2743. Emerald:
2744. "But sequence breaking is fun!"
2745. >Just go forward for now
  2746.
  2747. Hand of Maybe:
  2748. [Left, or right, then.]
  2749.
  2750. Emerald:
2751. I was planning on destabilizing the hydrogel seals in order to create handholds, and then eventually get close enough to destabilize the fan
  2752. >right
2753. we went left last time
  2754.
  2755. Hand of Maybe:
2756. [Right has two drop-downs, and one duct directly downward.]
  2757.
  2758. TwinBuilder:
  2759. downward?
  2760.
  2761. Hand of Maybe:
2762. [To the vents a floor down, yes.]
  2763.
  2764. TwinBuilder:
2765. can you see where the dropdowns lead
  2766.
  2767. Emerald:
2768. I'm going to say don't go for the direct downward, that'll make plenty of noise
  2769.
  2770. Hand of Maybe:
2771. [The first one is a hall currently bearing host to a line of armored soldiers. The second is an empty hall. You think the third might actually be the armory, judging by the sounds of the defense drones.]
  2772.
  2773. Emerald:
  2774. (gtg. Continue, comrade!)
2775. (nm, my mom is being nice)
  2776.
  2777. Hand of Maybe:
2778. [By third, you mean the vent directly down and upon the drop-down, of course.]
  2779.
  2780. Emerald:
2781. Voting for the first one
  2782.
  2783. Hand of Maybe:
2784. [The line of armored soldiers.]
  2785.
  2786. Emerald:
2787. If we wait, we have less of a possibility of being caught in the middle of doing things
  2788. of course
2789. they would report the sector being clear or whatever
  2790.
  2791. Hand of Maybe:
2792. [Which path do you take? Or do you look left instead?]
  2793.
  2794. Emerald:
2795. Twin? You have an opinion?
  2796.
  2797. TwinBuilder:
  2798. hm.
2799. the defense drones would shoot on sight, right?
  2800.
  2801. Hand of Maybe:
  2802. [Probably.]
  2803.
  2804. Emerald:
2805. Soldiers remains for my vote
  2806.
  2807. TwinBuilder:
2808. is there any way we could take a superweapon from there and use it to beat the crap out of anything
  2809.
  2810. Hand of Maybe:
2811. [If there's anything *left*? Possibly. If you can defeat the drones.]
  2812.
  2813. Emerald:
2814. >come to think of it, does our scimitar have any special properties?
  2815.
  2816. Hand of Maybe:
2817. [Arrivederci can pierce bound armor, and act as a channel for nigh-unlimited cosmic energy. The only problem is *acquiring* said nigh-unlimited cosmic energy.]
  2818.
  2819. Emerald:
2820. (although it should be remembered that this is a flashback, we're supposed to fail eventually)
  2821.
  2822. TwinBuilder:
2823. try the left path instead.
  2824.
  2825. Hand of Maybe:
2826. [There's one upward duct, and that's it, leftward. No fan, either.]
  2827.
  2828. TwinBuilder:
  2829. Try that instead.
2830. Our goal was to get to the roof, right?
  2831.
  2832. Emerald:
  2833. >do that
  2834. >going up!
  2835.
  2836. Hand of Maybe:
  2837. [You go up.]
  2838. [Left, right, or forward?]
  2839.
  2840. TwinBuilder:
  2841. forward.
  2842.
  2843. Hand of Maybe:
2844. [Two empty halls you can drop into.]
  2845.
  2846. Emerald:
2847. >examine them using aura to see differences
  2848.
  2849. Hand of Maybe:
2850. [No auric readings on either, likely due to lack of arcana. But, one appears to have a janitor droid scuttling across the floor in it.]
  2851.
  2852. Emerald:
2853. >drop into the one without a droid
2854. >the droid probably has cameras
  2855.
  2856. Hand of Maybe:
2857. [You leap down into the empty hall. There are blast doors to your left and right.]
  2858.
  2859. Emerald:
2860. >remember how much we fucked up and panic for a second, then recover
  2861.
  2862. Hand of Maybe:
2863. [And an elevator right in front of you.]
  2864.
  2865. TwinBuilder:
2866. Is the elevator in use.
  2867.
  2868. Hand of Maybe:
2869. [Oh, and you momentarily panic, as well. That's a thing.]
  2870. [And, no.]
  2871.
  2872. TwinBuilder:
2873. Step inside, at least to see your options floor-wise.
  2874.
  2875. Emerald:
  2876. >boop the elevators button
  2877. >cancel
  2878.
  2879. Hand of Maybe:
2880. [You appear to be on floor three. You can go anywhere up or down, up to floor thirteen.]
  2881.
  2882. Emerald:
2883. so the elevator is on the floor we are currently on?
  2884.
  2885. TwinBuilder:
  2886. Floor thirteen it is.
  2887.
  2888. Hand of Maybe:
  2889. [It is.]
  2890.
  2891. Emerald:
2892. I suggest going to floor 12, to be safe
  2893.
  2894. Hand of Maybe:
  2895. [Thirteen, or twelve.]
  2896.
  2897. TwinBuilder:
  2898. 12, sure
  2899.
  2900. Hand of Maybe:
2901. [The Hanged Man it is.]
  2902.
  2903. Emerald:
2904. come to think of it, A said 13 when asked for cryptic advice
  2905.
  2906. TwinBuilder:
2907. Better The Hanged Man than Death.
  2908.
  2909. Hand of Maybe:
2910. [You head up to floor twelve.]
  2911.
  2912. Emerald:
2913. That name is even harder to spell than Erelye is
  2914.
  2915. TwinBuilder:
2916. wait, death is about rebirth and shit
2917. maybe we should have chosen that
2918. IS IT TOO LATE TO RECONSIDER
  2919.
  2920. Emerald:
2921. we're still in the elevator, we can press thirteen and hold the "close door" button
  2922.
  2923. Hand of Maybe:
2924. [The door opens up, and immediately reveals five soldiers, laughing amongst each other with rifles, one *just* about to call the elevator.]
  2925.
  2926. Emerald:
  2927. >fuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuck
  2928.
  2929. Hand of Maybe:
2930. [You all stare at each other for a second.]
  2931.
  2932. Emerald:
  2933. >fuck
  2934. >shit
  2935. >we fucked up
  2936.
  2937. TwinBuilder:
2938. Kill them all in a single strike.
  2939.
  2940. Emerald:
  2941. (ONE PAUUUUUUUNCH)
  2942.
  2943. TwinBuilder:
2944. Or at least, knock them all unconscious or something. Ideally, before they have time to react.
  2945.
  2946. Hand of Maybe:
2947. [You decapitate three of them with one slice of Arrivederci, and twitchily impale the other two. You're *really* freaking out, now.]
  2948.
  2949. TwinBuilder:
2950. what do your surroundings look like.
  2951.
  2952. Emerald:
  2953. >...that is a very sharp blade
  2954.
  2955. Hand of Maybe:
  2956. [Only the finest.]
2957. [No doors to your left, but there's a service staircase. Right has two doors.]
  2958.
  2959. Emerald:
  2960. >wow, nice wordplay there, Nightmare's Attendant
2961. Go up the service staircase?
  2962.
  2963. TwinBuilder:
2964. *maybe* use the elevator to head to floor thirteen?
  2965.
  2966. Emerald:
2967. elevator leaves the same response that just happened
2968. With stairs we can listen at the door
  2969.
  2970. TwinBuilder:
  2971. fair
  2972.
  2973. Emerald:
2974. Or, you know, we took my advice last time and failed
  2975.
  2976. TwinBuilder:
  2977. hmmmm <:Thonk:291442234199375872>
  2978. try floor 13
  2979.
  2980. Hand of Maybe:
2981. [Floor thirteen it is. You pop out in a straight hall forward, with two doors on either side. There is a staircase upward at the end of the hall.]
  2982.
  2983. Emerald:
2984. >look into the rooms from the doors, if possible
  2985.
  2986. Hand of Maybe:
2987. [Janitor's closet, meeting room, empty, and storage.]
  2988.
  2989. TwinBuilder:
  2990. Check storage.
  2991.
  2992. Emerald:
2993. >....we probably should have done something with those dead bodies
  2994.
  2995. Hand of Maybe:
2996. [There's some rations, a couple fuel cells, and some twisted wires.]
  2997.
  2998. Emerald:
2999. >could we impale a fuel cell and use the scimitar as a conduit?
  3000.
  3001. Hand of Maybe:
3002. [These fuel cells appear to be dual-ion cells, for starships. Unfortunately not cosmic energy.]
  3003.
  3004. Emerald:
  3005. >fuck
3006. >we don't need rations, and they would weigh us down
  3007.
  3008. TwinBuilder:
3009. Take some rations, just in case...?
  3010.
  3011. Emerald:
3012. Wow, I responded to you, *before you posted*
3013. that takes some serious ninja
  3014.
  3015. TwinBuilder:
3016. Take them, I doubt they weigh much.
  3017.
  3018. Emerald:
  3019. k
  3020.
  3021. TwinBuilder:
3022. Then go to the staircase.
  3023.
  3024. Emerald:
  3025. >take one or two
  3026.
  3027. TwinBuilder:
  3028. Two.
  3029.
  3030. Hand of Maybe:
3031. [You grab two packets of the fancy new hipster Dried Pumpkin Spice Muffin Military Rations -- Just Apply Water©.]
  3032.
  3033. Emerald:
3034. >...realize we don't have water, and wonder if spit would work
  3035.
  3036. Hand of Maybe:
  3037. [Probably.]
  3038.
  3039. Emerald:
  3040. >go to staircase
  3041.
  3042. Hand of Maybe:
3043. [You do so. Head upward?]
  3044.
  3045. Emerald:
  3046. >yesy
  3047.
  3048. Hand of Maybe:
3049. [You head up to the next floor, and the next floor, and the next floor, waiting out what appears to be troop movements on the second of the three. You are now on floor sixteen of seventeen.]
  3050.
  3051. TwinBuilder:
  3052. Anything of interest here?
  3053.
  3054. Emerald:
3055. >do the stairs keep going up?
  3056.
  3057. Hand of Maybe:
3058. [The stairs end here. There are two elevators on the left wall, and two locked doors on the right.]
  3059.
  3060. Emerald:
3061. >check what's inside locked doors. ~~with violence~~ using the windows in the door, if they have any
  3062.
  3063. Hand of Maybe:
  3064. [There are no windows.]
  3065.
  3066. Emerald:
3067. >stick scimitar in lock and twisty twist
3068. >I doubt the door is more durable than our scimitar is sharp
  3069.
  3070. Hand of Maybe:
3071. [You instantly break a perfectly good nanolock.]
  3072.
  3073. Emerald:
  3074. >yay
  3075. >push open door
  3076.
  3077. Hand of Maybe:
3078. [Oh, no. These are hydraulic doors. They're still sealed.]
  3079.
  3080. Emerald:
3081. >slash at the hinges of door with scimitar
  3082. >sharpy sharp!
3083. (...I've had too much caffeine today)
  3084.
  3085. Hand of Maybe:
3086. [Hydraulic doors are broken into two segments. A top and a bottom. When the activator is properly interfaced with, both pieces slide into either the ceiling, or the floor. There are no hinges.]
  3087.
  3088. TwinBuilder:
3089. How do you properly interface with the activator?
  3090.
  3091. Emerald:
3092. >damn you, overeliance on violence!
  3093.
  3094. Hand of Maybe:
3095. [Well, you just broke it.]
  3096.
  3097. Emerald:
3098. >go to the other door
  3099.
  3100. TwinBuilder:
  3101. Nice.
  3102.
  3103. Hand of Maybe:
3104. [You go to the second door.]
  3105.
  3106. Emerald:
  3107. >interface with it
  3108. (gtg)
  3109.
  3110. Hand of Maybe:
3111. [You place your hand on the scanner. The door opens, but immediately, alarms go off downstairs, the fortress intercom informing security that suspect #002 is presently on floor sixteen.]
  3112.
  3113. Emerald:
  3114. (carry on Twin!)
  3115.
  3116. TwinBuilder:
  3117. Oh, wow. Thanks. :mspa:

3123. (carry on after my horrendous mistake!)
  3124.
  3125. TwinBuilder:
3126. Quickly check what's inside the door.
  3127.
  3128. Hand of Maybe:
3129. [Looks to be thirteen triple-voidmetal plated elite guards with Aeon Pulsars.]
  3130.
  3131. TwinBuilder:
  3132. NICE. RUN.
  3133.
  3134. Hand of Maybe:
  3135. [Where to?]
  3136.
  3137. TwinBuilder:
  3138. An elevator.
  3139.
  3140. Hand of Maybe:
  3141. [Left, or right elevator.]
  3142.
  3143. TwinBuilder:
  3144. Left.
  3145.
  3146. Hand of Maybe:
3147. [You take the left. This one can immediately go up to the roof.]

  3153.
  3154. Hand of Maybe:
3155. [You ascend. You're on a collision course, alright. Probably to death.]
  3156.
  3157. TwinBuilder:
  3158. Of course.
  3159.
  3160. Hand of Maybe:
  3161. [You reach the roof.]

  3164. Examine surroundings.
  3165.
  3166. Hand of Maybe:
3167. [The circular tower-top is bereft of parapets. There is a ring split into four segments carved into the center of the floor.]
  3168.
  3169. TwinBuilder:
  3170. ...
  3171. Examine it.
  3172.
  3173. Hand of Maybe:
3174. [It has no defining features. A meaningless decorative carving, you're almost certain.]
3175. [Also of note is that *Vivia is not here*.]
  3176.
  3177. TwinBuilder:
  3178. Then where *is* she.
  3179. He.
  3180. They.
  3181.
  3182. Hand of Maybe:
  3183. [She.]
  3184.
  3185. TwinBuilder:
  3186. She.
  3187.
  3188. Hand of Maybe:
3189. [Good question. She *should* be here.]
  3190.
  3191. TwinBuilder:
3192. Any way of getting in touch with her?
  3193.
  3194. Hand of Maybe:
3195. [Not *on* you. Security could've tracked communications, so you removed them from yourselves before entry.]
  3196.
  3197. TwinBuilder:
3198. ~~On a whim, speak the words 'IMMORTAL ENERGY BULLSHIT' aloud.~~
  3199.
  3200. Hand of Maybe:
3201. [You're about to, but then the elevator doors behind you open up again.]
  3202.
  3203. TwinBuilder:
  3204. Hide behind the elevator
  3205.
  3206. Hand of Maybe:
  3207. [You do so.]
  3208.
  3209. TwinBuilder:
  3210. see who comes out.
  3211.
  3212. Hand of Maybe:
3213. [You watch as the thirteen elite soldiers spread out over the tower-top.]
  3214.
  3215. TwinBuilder:
  3216. fuck.
  3217.
  3218. Hand of Maybe:
3219. [Their captain speaks aloud through a digitized voice modulator in their helmet.]
3220. **"Set pulsars to stun. The Ciryatur Amnati wants her *alive*.**
  3221.
  3222. TwinBuilder:
3223. Is there any possible way out?
  3224.
  3225. Hand of Maybe:
3226. [You could always jump off the edge, into the plains of pointed rock spires.]
3227. [Probably several hundred feet below, of course.]
  3228.
  3229. TwinBuilder:
3230. Yeah... That doesn't seem like a very good idea.
3231. But would death be preferable to *this*.
  3232.
  3233. Hand of Maybe:
3234. [Well, you should ask yourself if it's better than being taken to Amnati and the fucking Lord-Archmage YVORVEV, yes.]
  3235.
  3236. TwinBuilder:
  3237. ...Fuck it.
3238. There's no one around to tell me if this is a bad idea.
  3239.
  3240. Hand of Maybe:
3241. [And then comes the second question.]
  3242.
  3243. Bomber57:
  3244. Is there?
  3245.
  3246. TwinBuilder:
  3247. thank based bomber
  3248.
  3249. Bomber57:
3250. I had another bad idea but I'd like to hear yours first, Twin.
  3251.
  3252. Hand of Maybe:
3253. [*Can you make yourself do it?*]
  3254.
  3255. TwinBuilder:
3256. Wh... What happens if we're sent to YVORVEV?
  3257.
  3258. Hand of Maybe:
3259. [Well, I'm sure you can just *imagine* the punishments such a twisted being with the *Imperial Archives* has in mind for a failed assassin of one of his most loyal lieutenants.]
3260. [Then again, you could escape.]
  3261.
  3262. TwinBuilder:
  3263. How.
  3264.
  3265. Crystal:
3266. What I would personally suggest is using the Matter Destabilizer on the floor below us.
  3267.
  3268. Hand of Maybe:
3269. [You know a couple high-security imperial prison/labor camps like the back of your hand. Like the one on Orlicar. And, floor's too massive.]
  3270.
  3271. TwinBuilder:
  3272. Orlicar...
3273. ...Sounds like a plan to me.
  3274.
  3275. Bomber57:
3276. Clearly we use the thaumium knife to segment a part of the floor from the rest and then destabilize the segment.
  3277.
  3278. Hand of Maybe:
3279. [Thaumium Knife? You don't have one of those.]
  3280.
  3281. Bomber57:
  3282. Oh riiight. Hah.
  3283.
  3284. TwinBuilder:
3285. ((According to the timeline, in 730 PV, Cinavi was captured after attempting to kill Ciryatur Amnati. Then, in 731 PV, she was sent to a labor camp on Orlicar V by YVORVEV.))
3286. ((This is that. This has to happen.))
  3287.
  3288. Bomber57:
3289. ((Ah. Well I suppose there really is no way out.))
  3290.
  3291. TwinBuilder:
  3292. ((Unfortunately.))
3293. Surrender yourself. Escaping from Orlicar could work, if you know it as well as you claim to.
  3294.
  3295. Hand of Maybe:
3296. [You step out and drop your weapons, right in front of the elite soldiers. You can almost see the captain smiling under his helmet. His modulator emits more digitized voice.]
3297. **"Welp, that got her out. You may kill when ready."**
  3298.
  3299. TwinBuilder:
  3300. WHAT.
  3301. FUCK. FUCK. FUCK.
  3302. I, UH,
  3303.
  3304. Hand of Maybe:
3305. [Four of the guards' Aeon Pulsars ignite with lethal bright blue sparks.]
  3306.
  3307. Bomber57:
  3308. a.
  3309.
  3310. TwinBuilder:
  3311. DODGE
  3312.
  3313. Arcade Serpent:
  3314. Hah
  3315.
  3316. Hand of Maybe:
3317. [You narrowly dodge the blades. One of the soldiers in the back fries the elevator's wiring.]
  3318.
  3319. TwinBuilder:
3320. Is there *any way they'd take you alive.*
  3321.
  3322. Hand of Maybe:
  3323. [Is there?]
  3324.
  3325. TwinBuilder:
  3326. I DON 'T K N O W
  3327.
  3328. Arcade Serpent:
3329. Grab the captain in a chokehold and threaten/ransom the rest of them?
  3330.
  3331. TwinBuilder:
  3332. ask to be imprisoned??
  3333.
  3334. Hand of Maybe:
3335. [The captain is presently wearing three layers of full-body voidmetal plate armor, as are the rest of these guys, so good luck with that.]
3336. [And you dropped your weapons.]
  3337.
  3338. Arcade Serpent:
  3339. Where
  3340.
  3341. Hand of Maybe:
3342. [On the floor. Then you dodged. Now there's three guards between you and them.]
  3343.
  3344. TwinBuilder:
  3345. What about the ring??
  3346.
  3347. Arcade Serpent:
3348. Do a super evasive slide between the guards' legs to get weapons?
  3349.
  3350. TwinBuilder:
3351. We could still yell 'IMMORTAL ENERGY BULLSHIT'
3352. Unless that only works in nightmareland
  3353.
  3354. Hand of Maybe:
3355. [The advancing guards back you against the edge.]
  3356.
  3357. TwinBuilder:
3358. Yell it. If you're going to die anyway, at least try.
  3359.
  3360. Hand of Maybe:
  3361. [> "IMMORTAL ENERGY BULLSHIT."]
  3362. [...]
  3363. [...]
  3364. [Nothing happens.]
  3365.
  3366. Arcade Serpent:
  3367. rip
  3368.
  3369. TwinBuilder:
3370. WELL AT LEAST WE TRIED
  3371.
  3372. Arcade Serpent:
  3373. hopefully...
  3374. they're DISTACTED
  3375.
  3376. Hand of Maybe:
  3377. [Not really.]
  3378.
  3379. Arcade Serpent:
3380. Is there anything at all to grab onto on the outside edge of the tower thing.
  3381.
  3382. Hand of Maybe:
3383. [Not for *about* fifty feet.]
3384. [If you can grab on to something at *those* velocities, then you'll probably break your arms and fall. Or something of the sort.]
  3385.
  3386. TwinBuilder:
3387. Do you have any hidden powers that you've been holding out on
  3388.
  3389. Arcade Serpent:
3390. Use all of your remaining strength to grab weakest/nearest guard and throw both of yourselves off tower, using them to break fall? Maybe you'll survive with every bone broken.
  3391.
  3392. Hand of Maybe:
3393. [No. Believe me, if you did, you wouldn't be having this conversation.]
  3394.
  3395. Bomber57:
3396. Recall a psychological trick from an ancient order in a distant galactic sector. Wave your hand and state in a suggestive yet commanding manner that you will be imprisoned rather than killed. ((I dunno man I'm on my last legs here))
  3397.
  3398. Arcade Serpent:
  3399. > use the midichlorians
  3400.
  3401. Hand of Maybe:
3402. [You... you attempt to Jedi mind trick the elite guards.]
3403. [One of the guys in the back *actually* laughs at the pathetic attempt.]
  3404.
  3405. Bomber57:
3406. Well it was worth a shot.
  3407.
  3408. Arcade Serpent:
3409. Deliver a speech about how they'll be upsetting the timeline and causing a paradox by killing you, or something.
  3410.
  3411. Crystal:
3412. What if... this is just another part of the dream.
  3413.
  3414. TwinBuilder:
3415. This is a flashback in which we recall what happened, so
  3416.
  3417. Hand of Maybe:
3418. **Captain: Paradoxes? Timelines? We are soldiers. We don't even know what that means.**
  3419.
  3420. Crystal:
3421. And them trying to kill you is a distortion in the memory.
  3422.
  3423. Arcade Serpent:
3424. Huh. Dumber than I thought.
  3425.
  3426. TwinBuilder:
  3427. ...That's *cartoonishly* dumb.
  3428.
  3429. Arcade Serpent:
  3430. Something something Kanaya quote
  3431. Your Sparing Human Intellects
  3432.
  3433. Hand of Maybe:
3434. [You can't tell whether they're lying or not.]
  3435.
  3436. TwinBuilder:
  3437. Yeah, figures.
3438. They just don't care. They want us dead.
3439. We *are* an assassin, right?
  3440.
  3441. Hand of Maybe:
3442. [Well, it isn't exactly your *job*.]
3443. [You just needed to ensure that fucking *Calcri Amnati* didn't acquire the Sixth Secret.]
  3444.
  3445. Arcade Serpent:
3446. Ask for a last meal before they kill you. That's probably an elven / whatever custom too. Maybe.
  3447.
  3448. Hand of Maybe:
3449. [Where do you think you are. *Rivendell?* This is the Grayholdian Empire, my friend.]
  3450.
  3451. TwinBuilder:
  3452. ...The Sixth Secret?
  3453.
  3454. Arcade Serpent:
3455. ......bite off their heads in a similar manner to Hearts Boxcars
  3456.
  3457. Hand of Maybe:
3458. [You know how it goes. Movement, Immortality, Beginnings, Luck, Endings, and then Death. The first six Secrets.]
  3459.
  3460. Crystal:
  3461. Oh, hey.
  3462.
  3463. Hand of Maybe:
3464. [You don't know what the Seventh Secret is, and the **Emissary** won't tell you.]
  3465.
  3466. TwinBuilder:
3467. You're *sure* these secrets can't, like, get you out of this situation?
  3468.
  3469. Hand of Maybe:
3470. [He's going to figure it out either way. That's why you had to kill him. Which... you failed at.]
  3471.
  3472. TwinBuilder:
3473. Could you bargain with them?
3474. Ask to *not* be immediately killed in exchange for something else?
  3475.
  3476. Hand of Maybe:
3477. [I mean. They look like they're under strict orders to kill you.]
  3478.
  3479. Arcade Serpent:
  3480. So, how's that head-devouring project going
  3481.
  3482. Hand of Maybe:
3483. [You'd break your jaw on their armor.]
3484. [And, you know. Your mouth isn't big enough.]
  3485.
  3486. Arcade Serpent:
3487. No unhinging your jaw yet? Rookie.
  3488.
  3489. Hand of Maybe:
  3490. [Fair.]
  3491.
  3492. TwinBuilder:
  3493. I wonder...
  3494. μ
3495. maybe mutter that, or something
3496. unless the solution is 🎲
  3497.
  3498. Hand of Maybe:
  3499. [What do you do?]
  3500.
  3501. Arcade Serpent:
3502. Mutter μ. If that doesn't have any effect, feint like you're jumping and then youth roll to grab your weapons.
  3503.
  3504. TwinBuilder:
  3505. ^
  3506.
  3507. Hand of Maybe:
3508. [μ has no effect whatsoever. You're not even entirely sure why you just said that.]
  3509.
  3510. TwinBuilder:
  3511. "Neither am I."
  3512.
  3513. Hand of Maybe:
3514. [You then attempt to roll to grab your weapons. You are stabbed twice in the chest by two of the guards, once in the arm, and kicked back to the edge. You can *feel* the electricity and aeonic poisons coursing through your body.]
  3515.
  3516. Arcade Serpent:
  3517. Welp.
  3518. Jump.
  3519. Maybe you'll live.
  3520.
  3521. Hand of Maybe:
  3522. [Are you sure?]
  3523.
  3524. Arcade Serpent:
  3525. Not.
  3526.
  3527. TwinBuilder:
3528. Ideally, utter some kind of one-liner and black out into unconsciousness.
  3529.
  3530. Arcade Serpent:
  3531. Hate to...
  3532. Hate to cut and...
  3533. Hate to cut...
  3534. Dammit
  3535. ........
  3536.
  3537. Hand of Maybe:
3538. [Oh, no. You misunderstand me. The poisons keep you *awake*. So you can feel every last drop of your granted agony.]
  3539.
  3540. Arcade Serpent:
3541. HATE TO CUT ALL YOUR HEADS OFF LIKE THAT REAL RUDE OF ME
  3542.
  3543. TwinBuilder:
  3544. Oh. Fun.
3545. Ask what they did with Vivia, seeing as they've probably neutralized her at this point?
3546. Idk, I'm out of options other than jumping.
  3547.
  3548. Hand of Maybe:
  3549. **"... Who?"**
  3550.
  3551. TwinBuilder:
  3552. ...
  3553.
  3554. Arcade Serpent:
  3555. Maybe not.
  3556.
  3557. TwinBuilder:
  3558. Say nothing.
3559. oh god I thought of an awful plan
  3560. an awful awful plan
  3561.
  3562. Arcade Serpent:
3563. the Vivia ruse was a
  3564.
  3565. TwinBuilder:
  3566. it's gonna suck
  3567.
  3568. Arcade Serpent:
  3569. DISTACTION
  3570.
  3571. TwinBuilder:
3572. we tell them who vivia is and in return they imprison us rather than kill us
  3573.
  3574. Arcade Serpent:
  3575. do they care
  3576.
  3577. Hand of Maybe:
3578. **"Do you not even know your own team, kid. The guy you came in with was Almaerapha of Akkath."**
  3579.
  3580. TwinBuilder:
  3581. ...
  3582.
  3583. Arcade Serpent:
3584. while he's talking, do a backflip towards weapons
  3585.
  3586. TwinBuilder:
3587. No, wait. I want to hear this.
  3588.
  3589. Hand of Maybe:
  3590. [They say nothing more.]
  3591.
  3592. TwinBuilder:
  3593. Fuck
3594. Try to recall who Almaerapha is.
  3595.
  3596. Hand of Maybe:
  3597. [You... have no idea.]
  3598.
  3599. Arcade Serpent:
  3600. Well shit
  3601.
  3602. TwinBuilder:
3603. Ask them what they're talking about.
  3604.
  3605. Hand of Maybe:
3606. **"Don't you understand, kid? The Fifteen Secrets compel us to remove your flesh in the name of 5082 RS-KM, for the glory of YVORVEV. As was prophesized, your arrival was heralded by the red-gold scholar."**
  3607.
  3608. Arcade Serpent:
3609. I like this captain. He wastes time talking before killing us.
  3610.
  3611. Hand of Maybe:
3612. **"Submit your life at once."**
  3613.
  3614. Arcade Serpent:
3615. Maybe we can keep him talking.
3616. Not for much longer probably.
  3617.
  3618. TwinBuilder:
3619. We obviously *don't* understand. The... red-gold scholar?
  3620. (keep him talking)
  3621.
  3622. Hand of Maybe:
3623. **"Almaerapha, numbnuts. 06, 07, 08, close in on her."**
  3624.
  3625. TwinBuilder:
3626. okay it's now OR NEVER
  3627.
  3628. Hand of Maybe:
3629. [The guards in the back casually toss your weapons over the edge.]
  3630.
  3631. TwinBuilder:
  3632. ... :)
  3633.
  3634. Arcade Serpent:
3635. Jump and grab weapons in midair. Use any melee/sharp weapon as a tool to stick into the tower edge and hang.
  3636.
  3637. Hand of Maybe:
3638. [The guards in the back are about halfway across the tower floor from here.]
  3639.
  3640. Arcade Serpent:
3641. Snatch a guard's weapon with all your GRIP STRENGTH and jump before the others shoot you? Then execute the plan.
  3642.
  3643. TwinBuilder:
  3644. Alternatively, die.
  3645. XIII and all that.
  3646.
  3647. Hand of Maybe:
3648. [You attempt to snatch a guard's weapon. He stabs you twice in the chest.]
  3649.
  3650. TwinBuilder:
  3651. Yeah, that's what I thought.
  3652.
  3653. Hand of Maybe:
  3654. [*Somehow*, you're still alive.]
  3655.
  3656. TwinBuilder:
3657. I'm *loving* this mental image of Cinavi bleeding out on the roof.
  3658. This is fine.
3659. This is very very fine.
  3660. `[screaming internally]`
  3661. wait a minute.
3662. "Allow me to be forthright with you. You shouldn't be here."
3663. is that because we're dead
  3664. :onlyhalfjoking:
  3665.
  3666. Hand of Maybe:
3667. [The captain chuckles hoarsely, before speaking. You liken his voice now to a demonic screech.]
3668. **"HFYNRG BLFI ORUV GL GSV ULINOVHH TLW LU ZYZWWLM LI KVIRHS."**
  3669.
  3670. TwinBuilder:
3671. ...There's nothing else we can do.
  3672. Submit.
  3673.
  3674. Hand of Maybe:
  3675. [How so?]
  3676.
  3677. Arcade Serpent:
3678. > lie on the ground and just stubbornly refuse to die
  3679.
  3680. TwinBuilder:
3681. Yeah, I was thinking just lie motionless so they can do what they will??
  3682.
  3683. Bomber57:
3684. > also give a taunting smile because you just simply refuse to die
  3685.
  3686. Arcade Serpent:
  3687. > But it refused.
  3688.
  3689. Hand of Maybe:
3690. **"BLF NRHFMWVIHGZMW, FMRMGVOORTVMG NVZGHZXP. R DZMG MLG BLFI ORUV. WRV. NZPV GSV WVXRHRLM. HGLK YVRMT ZM RWRLG ZMW IVZORAV DSZG R'N GSRMPRMT. LMV OLHG OLEVI HGZMWH LEVI GSV XZFOWILM LU GSV RMUVIML. WLVH GSRH NVZM SVI OLHG OLEV DROO VMW RM SVOO? *R XLFOWM'G HGLK OZFTSRMT.*"**
  3691.
  3692. TwinBuilder:
3693. Will jumping into the spikes appease you?
  3694.
  3695. Arcade Serpent:
  3696. Are you dead yet?
  3697.
  3698. Hand of Maybe:
3699. **"SZRO ZYIZCZH, TLW LU GSV ZYBHH"**
  3700. [You're not dead yet.]
  3701.
  3702. TwinBuilder:
  3703. Jump.
  3704. Into the abyss.
  3705.
  3706. Hand of Maybe:
3707. [You weakly crawl to the very edge, and force yourself over, aeonically-corrupted blood spilling everywhere.]
3708. [With one last weary shove, you jump.]
3709. [Reality shatters like a windowpane, and you land face-first on the top of another tower, but the same one, a smoke-forged spectre looking at you concernedly.]
  3710. **HSZWV LU ERERZ: XRMZER?**
  3711.
  3712. Crystal:
3713. Knew it. Still part of the nightmare.
  3714.
  3715. Arcade Serpent:
  3716. "Ere"
  3717. Erelye confirmed
  3718. Ererz new Erelye misspelling
  3719.
  3720. Crystal:
  3721. So...
  3722.
  3723. TwinBuilder:
  3724. I... I remember now.
  3725. Explain what you saw?
  3726.
  3727. Hand of Maybe:
  3728. [Do you?]
  3729.
  3730. TwinBuilder:
3731. are you asking 'do i remember'
  3732. or 'do i explain'
  3733.
  3734. Hand of Maybe:

  3736.
  3737. TwinBuilder:
  3738. I don't see why not.
  3739.
  3740. Hand of Maybe:
3741. [You recount your visions. At the end of it, Vivia chuckles thoughtfully.]
3742. **HSZWV LU ERERZ: Gszg'h mlg irtsg, rh rg? Wrwm'g blf nzpv rg fk gl gsv ivmwvaelfh, zmw gib gl qfnk, yfg gsvm xlfowm'g nzpv blfihvou wl rg, hl gsv nrorgzib gllp xfhglwb lu blf. Ls, blf'ev yvvm gsilfts *gll* nfxs, Xrmzer... gll nfxs.**
  3743.
  3744. TwinBuilder:
3745. That makes more sense than jumping through reality, hah.
  3746.
  3747. Hand of Maybe:
3748. [The shade raises a hand, smiling at you. White light crackles within, and a single symbol appears.]
  3749. [μ.]
  3750.
  3751. TwinBuilder:
  3752. Take it.
3753. And be sure to say thank you.
  3754.
  3755. Hand of Maybe:
3756. [She presses it into your hand, and nods at the thanks. Then, the shade places a hand upon your shoulder.]
3757. **HSZWV LU ERERZ: Hvv blf hllm?**
  3758.
  3759. Crystal:
  3760. Nod. "See you soon."
  3761.
  3762. Hand of Maybe:
3763. [You blink, and, second filled slot on the stone ring in your head all the while, you're lying on the ground in eternal blackness, shadow dripping upon you from a hole above.]
3764. [You appear to have fallen through a layer of the nightmare.]
3765. **END OF PART 2: IN MEMORIAM.**
