  13. # Intro
  14.
  15. This guide aims to provide tips and strategies for defeating Eden Prime in Eden's Gate: Resurrection (Savage).
  16.
  17. Eden Prime is the first fight in the Eden's Gate (Savage) series in Shadowbringers, available July 30th in Patch 5.05. 41. ## Mechanics ##
  42.
  43. Before starting the fight, assign positions based on the following macro:
  44.
  45. ```
  46. /p MT OT
  47. /p (R1) (R2)
  48. /p -
  49. /p x
  50. /p -
  51. /p (H1) (H2)
  52. /p M1 M2
  53. ```
  54.
  55. This will be used for executing the mechanics Vice and Virtue, Delta Attack, and Pure Beam. Place [these markers](https://i.imgur.com/uJ8wiOt.png) around the middle to make mechanics easier.
  56.
  57. **Vice and Virtue**
  58.
  59. Eden Prime will mark the tanks, healers, or DPS. The mechanic executed will depend on which role is marked and what phase it is.
  60.
  61. * **Vice of Apathy** - Targets DPS. AoE puddles will drop over all marked DPS at the end of cast. Stepping in these puddles will inflict heavy if not outright kill. Take the puddles out of the middle.
  62. * **Vice of Vanity** - Targets tanks. Line AoE tank busters on both tanks that hits twice. Mitigate.
  63. * **Vice of Thievery** - Targets healers. Marks both healers with prey. Prey inflicts a heavy bleed. These should be passed to tanks.
  64.
  65. At the beginning of Phase 3, Eden Prime will cast **Paradise Regained**. This changes the boss's attacks, specifically Vice and Virtue, Dimensional Shift phase, and Delta Attack. This wears off after a while, and the attacks return to normal.
  66.
  67. * **Vice of Pride** - Targets tanks. A line AoE that must be shared by four players. The player in front will take a physical vulnerability debuff. One of the melee should be in front.
  68. * **Vice of Sloth** - Targets DPS. Targets the DPS with an invisible stack marker that must be soaked with one other player.
  69. * **Vice of Greed** - Targets healers. Marks both healers with prey. Prey inflicts a light bleed, physical vulnerability debuff, and healing potency down debuff. These should be passed to ranged DPS.
  70.
  71. **Eden's Gravity**
  72.
  73. A heavy pure damage raidwide AoE that does a fixed percentage of player's HP.
  74.
  75. **Spear of Paradise**
  76.
  77. A multi-hit physical buster. The first hit inflicts a physical vulnerability debuff. The OT must provoke during the cast.
  78.
  79. **Eden's Flare**
  80.
  81. A donut AoE centered around Eden Prime.
  82.
  83. **Delta Attack**
  84.
  85. Eden Prime teleports to the middle, and executes three AoEs when the cast bar resolves. They are a large AoE around Eden, a + shaped AoE originating from Eden, and invisible circle AoEs around every player. Simple move out and go to your preassigned spots, with ranged going far and melee going close.
  86.
  87. **Paradise Regained** changes Delta Attack into a donut AoE centered around Eden Prime, a heavy magical AoE on both tanks, and an invisible stack marker on the party. The two tanks stand in front in their positions and all other party members stack on the rear.
  88.
  89. **Dimensional Shift**
  90.
  91. A heavy pure damage raidwide AoE that transitions into a Dimensional Shift phase, similar to Forsaken. Summons untargetable Pure Beam orbs around the arena at cardinal/intercardinal positions.
  92.
  93. **Paradise Regained** will summon four untargetable Pure Beam orbs at cardinal positions, as well as four Arcane Spheres at intercardinal positions that explode if not killed. The orbs will rotate their line AoEs. Note that the mechanic will still be as such after Paradise Regained falls off.
  94.
  95. **Paradise Lost**
  96.
  97. Targets the four furthest players with multiple AoEs that follow their position. Ranged should bait these outside.
  98.
  99. **Pure Beam**
  100.
  101. Commands Pure Beam orbs to shoot a line AoE at the closest player, inflicting a magic vulnerability debuff. Players should rotate clockwise and soak one line AoE each.
  102.
  103. **Paradise Regained** will summon four Pure Beam orbs at cardinal positions. These will shoot line AoEs at resolve after a while, then rotate in the direction indicated by the orb. Players must bait the line AoE such that they rotate outside of the centre. Note that the mechanic will still be as such after Paradise Regained falls off. Use [this cheatsheet](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/448209053743579186/605867271247757380/E1S_Shift_2.png) to figure out your required positions.
  104.
  105. **Pure Light**
  106.
  107. Eden teleports to a random intercardinal edge of the arena and shoots a lethal wide line AoE towards the centre of the arena. Players should get behind Eden ASAP.
  108.
  109. **Fragor Maximus**
  110.
  111. A heavy magic damage raidewide AoE that signals the start of Phase 2.
  112.
  113. **Paradisal Dive**
  114.
  115. Two proximity AoEs left and right of the centre. These will spawn the two adds, Guardian of Paradise. These must be picked up by the respective tank on either side. They can be stacked. They cast three skills:
  116.
  117. * **Mana Boost**: Must be interrupted. Probably kills tanks and the party if you don't.
  118. * **Mana Slice**: A tank cleave with no cast bar.
  119. * **Mana Burst**: A light raidwide magic AoE.
  120.
  121. **Eternal Breath**
  122.
  123. Heavy damage that occurs during the transition.
  124.
  125.

  183.
  184. ## Fight Strategy ##
  185.
  186. **Phase 1**
  187.
  188. + Eden begins the fight with an extremely heavy hitting raid buster that does a percentage of everyone's health. Mitigate with shields pre-pull and keep the MT healthy afterwards. Pure damage cannot be mitigated with % reductions.
  189. + The four DPS are targeted with AoE puddles. Ranged should spread out and put them to the sides of the arena, while melee can put them at max melee range at the flanks. All players should come in afterwards for the donut AoE, taking care not to hit any of the puddles.
  190. + Tanks will take a magic shared buster into a physical buster that needs to be tank swapped during the cast. Mitigate accordingly.
  191. + Tanks should then take the marks from healers at preassigned locations - preferably C and D to ensure the healers do not have to move. Tanks should go to the healer spot during the cast and stay until the cast bar is finished. This needs to be mitigated, as it will do heavy bleed damage.
  192. + Go behind the boss for Pure Light.
  193. + Return to the middle and spread out to your positions for Delta Attack, with ranged going far and melee staying close.
  194. + Heal up and mitigate Dimensional Light with shields.
  195. + The four ranged should move out to bait Paradise Lost. Move along the outside of the arena.
  196. + As Pure Beam finishes casting, all players must go to their preassigned orb (rotate slightly clockwise) and stand close to the orb on the outside. This will bait the beam into shooting outside, making sure each player is only targeted by one beam.
  197. + Go behind the boss for Pure Light.
  198. + Return to the middle and top all players for Dimensional Light and Fragor Maximus.
  199.
  200. **Phase 2**
  201.
  202. + Stack North to mitigate and heal through Paradisal Dive.
  203. + Each tank should pick up their respective add - simply pick up the add on their side. They should then stack them together in the middle and face them south.
  204. + They must then interrupt Mana Boost. This can be delayed slightly to lower incoming damage.
  205. + Heal and mitigate through Mana Slice and Mana Boosts, and burn the adds before they enrage.
  206. + Heal for Eternal Breath.
  207.
  208. **Phase 3**
  209.
  210. + Keep in mind that Vice and Vanity mechanics will change during this phase.
  211. + The entire party should stack at C and D on their respective side to share Vice of Pride. Make sure the tank is not in front.
  212. + Everyone should then stack on their waymark to share Vice of Sloth. Be careful not to get hit by two hits of either mechanic.
  213. + Tanks stay where they are and mitigate Delta Attack, while the rest of the party should stack south to share the AoE.
  214. + The rest of the party can stay stacked. This will ensure two DPS get Vice of Sloth's debuffs. Healers should keep them healthy through the poison DoT.
  215. + Mitigate and swap for Spear of Paradise, and mitigate Dimensional Shift with shields.
  216. + Phase 3 and 4 Pure Beam is the hardest mechanic in the fight. Four players must bait the rotating Pure Beam AoEs by being the closest to the orb, and placing the AoEs such that they rotate outside of the arena. Use [this cheatsheet](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/448209053743579186/605867271247757380/E1S_Shift_2.png) to figure out your required positions. Ranged and healers should rotate clockwise to determine their orb.
  217. + The party should burn the Arcane Spheres ASAP. However, melee should be careful not to accidentally bait any of the orbs.
  218. + Move behind for Pure Light, and mitigate for Dimensional Shift.
  219.
  220. **Phase 4**
  221.
  222. + Phase 4 is nothing new, but mixes up the mechanics to trick players.
  223. + Vice of Vanity into Spear of Paradise is the same as Phase 1.
  224. + For Vice of Apathy and Delta Attacks, the puddles must not be placed in any intercardinal position. Place the melee puddles on the flanks and the ranged puddles far east and far west. This will ensure there are safe spots for Delta Attack.
  225. + For Vice of Thievery, tanks will take heavy bleed damage as well as unmitigatable damage in the form of Dimensional Shift right after. Therefore, it is recommended to use invulnerabilities as Dimensional Shift hits to ensure no tanks die.
  226. + Mitigate for Dimensional Shift.
  227. + These orbs are to be handled in the same way as Phase 3.
  228. + The phase repeats until enrage.
  229.
  230. ## Role Specific Tips ##
  231.
  232. **Tank:**
  233.
  234. + There are multiple tank busters of varying types, but they all occur relatively close to each other. Use efficient mitigation to cover multiple busters.
  235. + Boss positioning will resolve itself most of the time, as the boss will jump to the middle for most mechanics. Just make sure to face the boss north (this isn't actually a meme now!)
  236. + Tank swap during the cast bar of Spear of Paradise.
  237. + Use heavy mitigation when picking up Vice of Thievery. For the one in Phase 4, it is recommended to use tank invulns.
  238. + Stack the adds up in Phase 2 and face them away from the party.
  239. + Dimensional Shift is probably the hardest hitting attack on tanks. Use active mitigation before and after Dimensional Shift and Eden's Gravity. The Blackest Night is the strongest skill for all of these, as it will mitigate the hit itself; other actives will only mitigate autos before and after.
  240. + Use tank party shields for Dimensional Shift. Use tank mitigations for most AoE abilities.
  241. + If you use your 120s CD right before Vice of Apathy hits, it will stay on for the first hit of Spear of Paradise.
  242.
  243. **Healer:**
  244.
  245. + There is a lot of heavy AoE damage in this fight, but there are usually periods in between to top everyone off.
  246. + Shield and mitigate the first Eden's Gravity with prepull shields and early heals like Assize and Earthly Star.
  247. + Top tanks after Vice of Vanity, as there is a double tank buster right after.
  248. + Healing tanks through Vice of Thievery can be an issue if they do not mitigate it properly. Make sure to keep them topped off through the bleed, as it lasts for quite a while.
  249. + If you top players off prior to Delta Attack, you can preposition for it.
  250. + Heal up after Delta Attack and Dimensional Shift, as there is heavy AoE damage after those two mechanics.
  251. + Shields are the only thing that work again Dimensional Shift and Eden's Gravity, so a Noct AST/SCH should mitigate accordingly.
  252. + Vice of Sloth ticks for less than Vice of Thievery, but ensure your DPS are topped off.
  253.
  254. **DPS:**
  255.
  256. + Melee can drop their Vice of Apathy puddles at max melee range, but be careful and inform your group beforehand. It is safer to back off a tiny bit. In the final phase, it is advised to back off a little, to the east and west.
  257. + Come in after Delta Attack to receive heals.
  258. + Use Feint on Spear of Paradise, Mana Slice and auto attacks. Use Addle on Fragor Maximus and Vice of Vanity.
  259. + Ranged should bait the Pure Beam orbs in Phase 3 and 4 accordingly, while melee must make sure they are not in the path of the orb. Keep the cheatsheet beside you for simplicity.
  260. + Higher DPS will allow you to skip the final Dimensional Shift phase in Phase 4 as well as finish the add phase faster.
