  1. Varis was born the first child to a reclusive wizard couple within a secluded forest far from civilization. His childhood was filled with lessons and lectures on all manner of subjects. Religion, the Arcane, history, and herbalism. As the years went by Varis and his family grew larger. Younger children were born until the family numbered six. Mother and Father. Varis the eldest. The twin sisters Ilanis and Jarsali. The second son Fivin. And the youngest daughter Mai.

  3. The family lived in seclusion for years. Varis focusing on his studies into his first century. Fascinated with the study of Divination and Seers. Being able to foresee and see what once was interest Varis. Now an adult at this age Varis bid his family farewell as he setout into the world to begin his own life.

  5. He made his way to the nearest town with a library and rented a house in a poorer district of the city to keep expenses low. He worked part time for a local herbalist aiding with the mixing of potions and salves. Using his wages to purchase books from various venders and traveling merchants. He became a recluse. Uninterested with the outside world.

  7. One day however, a merchant’s wares caught Varis’ eyes. An item he had read about in one of his books. A device used to focus the power of a Seer to better hone their gifts. The questionable merchant claimed he received it from a band of traveling adventurers and was selling it. Paying much more then he should have, Varis returned home and continued his research. Years passed focused on the object in question.

  9. Though the work was worth it as Varis was able to unlock its power. Blood was needed to activate its powers. A prick of his finger and a few drops of blood activated the item. Varis brought it to his eyes to try and utilize it only for the device to explode. Varis awoke hours later with a headache. His research nearly killed him. He was destroyed. Years of work wasted. That night in his meditations he saw flashes. Visions of what could happen and what will happen. He thought it only a figment of his tired and fatigued mind showing him what he wanted.

  11. The day continued as normal, until Varis was nearly run through by a fleeing thief. As the thief’s blade drew close Varis saw it. Two splits in time. One where he died, another where he didn’t. Acting as the surviving self-did Varis was able to dodge the blade and escape with his life. His research was a success! Varis had gotten the device to work. But without a functioning relic he couldn’t continue his research.

  13. Varis gathered his supplies, sold his home and the belongings he couldn’t carry and purchased supplies to venture out in search of more of these relics. Hoping they would help further his research and refine his divination abilities.
