- Red: Red is associated with anger, or jealousy. The shade of colour generally reflects the intensity of anger, where darker red shows more deep-seeded anger (livid, enraged, furious), while lighter red shows more irritation and aggravation. When mixed with undertones of dark greens, it represents "unjustified" jealousy.
- Pink: Pink is associated with emotions of the self, or heart. Normal shades of pink represent an interest in the person, usually in regards to their well-being. The lighter/whiter the shade of pink, the more intense the interest in the person becomes, where the brighter represents a romantic interest. Light shades of pink mixed with undertones of yellow tend to represent platonic love. In contrast, the darker shades of pink represent embarrassment.
- Orange: Orange is typically associated with "expectation". Normal shades of orange typically represent an uplifting and positive calm for current events, where brighter oranges tend to lean toward optimism and enthusiasm for the future. Darker oranges tend to drift from confusion and misunderstanding to being worried of what's on the horizon. Dark, dull orange, with undertones of dark yellow, represents the expectation of fear, especially in regards to future events.
- Yellow: Yellow is typically associated with happiness. Normal to lighter shades of yellow represent happiness, the strength of the emotion growing with the strength of the color. In contrast, darker, duller shades of yellow are associated with fear, slowly leading down from mild worry to complete and utter terror.
- Green: Green is associated with emotions of intrigue in others, both beings and objects. Normal to lighter shades represent an interest in something, the intensity of which increases with the brightening of the color. The brightest and most vivid shades of green are typically associated with obsession. Darker shades of green, however, are associated with envy. As it grows darker, the emotion grows stronger, and more malicious.
- Blue: Blue is typically associated with 'low emotions' - calm and sadness. Light, turquoise shades of blue are seen as a calm, until which they turn into normal blue. This normal shade is seen as a sort of "bridge color" between calm and sadness, most closely associated with the emotion of worry. As the blue starts to darken, it slowly transitions into sadness, drifting into deep depression as it grows darker.
- Purple: Purple a complex color and is typically seen as a color of wisdom, and curiosity. Normal to light shades are associated with the curiosity, mostly that involved in learning new subjects, and is thought, unlike the other colors, to grow with strength as it drifts from light to normal, rather than the usual normal to light. As the purple drifts into a darker, lower shade (where, in this case, the color stays 'bright' - far from blackening), it is seen to represent wisdom, the knowledge on a subject thought to be stronger the darker the color is. In contrast to this, as the color starts taking a different direction of darkness, starting to take on the color of black, it is thought to represent both cruelty, and arrogance.
- Brown: Brown is associated with security, and safety, especially in regards to emotion. When purposely withholding emotion, pigmentation tends to involuntarily become brown, at least in some way - either completely, or as an undertone.
- Black: Black is a mysterious color, thought to represent complete, total, and unadulterated negativity. It is also associated with death.
- White: White is a comforting color, thought to represent complete, total, and unadulterated positivity. It is also associated with life. However, white may be used to simply compliment other colors, either with emotional meaning or not.
