  3. Gameplay:

  5. General:
  6. * Open doors from a distance with items to let you shoot at stuff,
  7. * you can retreat through grass to get free surprise attacks, since you don't trample it. You can also use them as donuts, especially when you can shoot through them.
  8.  
  9. Plan:
  10.  
  11. Attempt to identify what scroll is a scroll of upgrade (preferably without using it)
  12.  
  13. At the EARLIEST POSSIBLE OPPORTUNITY, enchant bow with a SCROLL OF ENCHANTMENT (go to an alchemy pot and mix a scroll of upgrade with two runestones. The scroll of upgrade doesn't have to be identified).
  14. * Enchanting the bow eases huntress's earlygame (sewers especially) significantly, esp. with enchants listed in (1) and (2).
  15. * Using a scroll of enchant drastically decreases the likelyhood you end up with a group 4/5/6 enchant
  16. * only two combinations exist where one is forced to choose a group 5 or 6 enchant (shocking/lucky/blocking and shocking/blocking/lucky), and there are many combinations.

  18. choose enchants by the following metric (lower number group=higher priority enchant).
  19. 1. Grim
  20. 2. Unstable/Blazing/Elastic
  21. 3. Blooming/Corrupting/Kinetic/Chilling
  22. 4. Vampiric/Projecting/Lucky
  23. 5. Shocking
  24. 6. Blocking
  25. * If you select Blooming, you are investing in the warden subclass and should attempt to pair it with warden synergies.
  26. * The other enchants are better for the sniper subclass.
  27. * You might want to reconsider re-enchanting the bow later if you end up with an enchantment from group 4 or higher.
  28.  
  29. Actively seek out the following items, all of these drastically make the game easier to win and pair well with each other:
  30. * Shurikens
  31. - pairs well with group 1/2 enchants when combined with flurry (speed bow) or snapshot (unaugmented bow)
  32. * Ring of Haste
  33. - when combined with bow, allows huntress to avoid virtually all melee combat if desired.
  34. * Ring of Furor
  35. - Sniper esp. with group 1/2 enchants (Grim,Blazing,Unstable,Elastic) and Chilling.
  36. - pretty amusing when you can turn the bow into an enchant-proccing machine that also happens to deal good damage.
  37. * Ring of Sharpshooting
  38. - pairs especially well with Sniper
  39. -> if a reliable method of kiting/gaining distance from enemies is obtained or if the bow's enchant is kinetic/grim, augment bow for damage upon subclassing.
  40. -> soups up darts and thrown weapons to laughable extents, and prevents all +0 missile weapons from breaking at +13.
  41. -> it boosts the bow as well, but not to the same extent as other missile weapons.
  42. * Sandals of Nature, Wand of Regrowth for warden
  43. - improves access to grass and seeds
  44. - wand of regrowth makes warden op when you get to three shot charges (instant seed use op)
  45.  
  46. These items are also good with huntress:
  47. * Chains
  48. * Hourglass
  49. * Darts (blinding v good against warlocks, displacing useful for distancing)
  50. * Ring of Accuracy (don't upgrade though)

  53. Upon subclassing:
  54. * Sniper is a very synergy-focused subclass and
  55. - is extremely powerful once it gets one of its several powerful synergies.
  56. - Its best enchants are readibly accessable extremely early in the game by use of scroll of enchantment
  57. - This makes it much easier to set up powerful runs compared to warden.
  58. - Augmenting bow for speed directly increases its overall damage output couresty of sniper's ranged armor pierce mechanic and lets it proc enchants more reliably. Flurry can proc enchants during all of its three hits.
  59. - Augmenting bow for damage in conjunction with damage-based enchants (kinetic/grim esp, but corrupting also good), reliable distancing methods (chains/haste/wand of blast wave), and ring of sharpshooting+thrown weapons or just an upgraded boomerang turns huntress into a sniping machine
  60. - Leaving the bow unaugmented gives access to Snapshot, letting the sniper work effectively with other reliable ranged sources such as crossbow, and it also works well with wand-based strategies especially with shurikens available.

  62. * Warden is more reliant on the environment, rewarding smart placement in grass with virtual invisibility allowing setups with seeds and free attacks as well as giving bonus armor to improve survivability drastically. She does have her share of strong builds and setups, however, though note that they are very focused:
  63. - Wand of Regrowth is a really, really powerful tool with Warden:
  64. -> Grass in general gives the Warden a huge advantage when she can see her enemies without them seeing her in return.
  65. -> three charge shots give the Lotus, which allows the Warden to use her seeds instantly (allowing for instant setups with swifthistl and icecap while also allowing her to instantly make use of stormvine and blindweed to incapacity opponents) and boosts the durability of her darts even further.
  66. - Boots of Nature give the Warden more seeds to work with, and their earthroot effect is appreciated since warden's earthroot effect no longer actually gives her herbal armor.
  67. - Blooming weapons can produce grass. Blooming bow is even better. Elastic weapons/bow are also pretty neat to have.
