- yep the math checks out
- sheet of paper = 0.1mm
- 1 km = 1000mm
- 1 light year = 9.461e+12 (km)
- 0.1*2^100 = 1.2676506e+23 (km)
- or 13,399,077,414.518043518 light years
- or 13,399,077,415 light years (rounded)
- or 13,399,077 light millennia (rounded)
- or 13.399 BILLION LIGHT YEARS (rounded)
- FYI universe is estimated to be 13.772 billion years old
- whilst its widely accepted rate of expansion in the first X fraction seconds of the universe acts weirdly, but after that weird rate of expansion standard laws physics apply & nothing can move faster than the speed of light, so in all probability this sheet of paper folded a hundred times would be wider than the known universe (assuming we dont employ higher dimension physics)
