Attacker(s): Marcus Antonio Royal

Description: Royal, a felon who had spent half his life behind bars, broke into Ann’s home and woke her up by hitting her in the head with a .38 revolver. He then choked her until she stopped breathing, before stomping on her head and neck. Two year later, a day after he was released from jail for a separate crime, he walked into Ethalya’s home and stabbed her to death, leaving her face down in a pool of blood, her wrists and ankles bound with duct tape. When Michael came to pick her up for church, Royal beat him as well, before fleeing. Michael died August 9, 2014 of a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).

Royal has a criminal record going back to when he was 14-years-old (1993) and broke into a 63-year-old woman’s home and sexually assaulted her.
