>The Hens go hiking with Mike the next day after his stories.

>Mike was by no means the most in shape man in the world but give him enough time and he can catch up...
>The worried thoughts are broken by Haddock who is residing in Mike's back pack gloating about the quality and speed of his ship
>Any and all horror of Mike's apparent Freakishness are usually broken when Haddock is seen.
>The image of the darling fox just having the time of his life and actually bragging about Mike's progress kind of eases up any feelings of doubt that Mike might be some kind of crazy thing.
>Besides, he still moved at the same pace and wheezed and bitched all the same...it just helps to hear Haddock laugh when Mike starts catching up...
>Haddock refers to it as his crow's nest
>Now really enjoys getting out "Like the land lubbers"
>Swallowing pride from both foxes They add many pirate, sea themed pins and cloth to the now reinforced bag
>But the piece the loves the most is three trifold hats
>One for him
>One for Faz
>One for the best shipright this side of the Pacific

>They even added a little fruit/snack bag to he wont get scurvy
>Its hard to think bad things when haddock is so happy being Mike's Barrelman while eating fruit he speared on his hook
>On the hiking trips he pretends he's on the open sea
>Added salt to a Fan Spray Bottle to really get immersed
>Faz packed some expensive salon jerky as a little surprise
>His joy is almost radiant
>He takes in the beautiful view of the forest and nearby lake while peeling the orange impaled on his hook
>He's lucky to have the best crew in the world
>Haddock has a new favorite hobby with his joy rides
>Its become almost like his Movie night
>Dried fish, lemonade, and crackers are packed and ready
>The drive started to get murky the closer they got to the trail
>The engine hums' are cut off and a small {POTSU-POTSU} can be heard
>It starts to rain
>All he lets out is a small whimper knowing his ship cant leave dock
>Mike asks for a handful of time
>Packs haddock up in the can and grabs the back up umbrella
>Tells everyone to stay in the car
>The rain picks up but this is one of the few great joys the little fox has
>A short 20M trip on the trail is very well appreciated by Haddock
>He returns to the car soaked with a cheerful haddock enjoying the rain with his tonged out
>The car ride is mostly silent except for one small exchange
>"Thanks matty for bravn the storm for M-m-me"

>If there's any open palms he will ask just to sit and watch it with him on the staircase
>Storms no longer scare him like it once did
>The sound of poring rain give him dreams of sleeping in the crews quarters docked in Port
>On light spring showers he will go to his Hairless shipwright asking to walk in the warm rain
>He never refuses
