Traversing the Sewers with Natsuki and Yuri!

>Yuri has come up with a pretty strange but exciting idea to spend the evening
>Venturing through the sewers!
>Monika is busy with something school-related and Sayori is sick, so it looks like it's just you, Yuri, and Natsuki
>The three of you were out getting ice-cream before she brought up the idea
>Natsuki seemed grossed about but intrigued, and you seemed excited as well, which pleased Yuri
>Once you had settled that that was gonna be the plan, you finished your ice creams and followed Yuri out and to the edge of the city to an area that used to be populated, but was now grown over like some Vietnam jungle
>You squeezed through some tight areas and traversed through some thick mud, but eventually you found yourselves arriving at the giant concrete hole that was the sewer opening
>You, Yuri, and Natsuki stand before it as if it were the entrance to a final boss or something
>Natsuki cups her hands around her mouth and screams as loud as she possibly can into the tunnel
>HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
>Yuri jumps and looks noticeably terrified
>Even you're surprised by how much sound could come out of such a small girl
>Once the echo dies down Natsuki turns and gives a prideful look with her eyes closed
>You can't help but laugh, and Yuri forces a smile but still seems to a bit unsettled
>Strangely enough, when you begin to venture into the darkness your demeanors switch
>Now Yuri seems in positive spirits while you and Natsuki grow unsettled
>Once the sewer really starts getting dark, Yuri grabs the backpack that was slung over her shoulder and pulls out three flashlights
>You're surprised but pleased to find that she was prepared, and was probably wanting to do this even before you, her, and Natsuki had decided to hang out
>Yuri seems to take the lead while you and Natsuki tail closely behind
>Natsuki seems shook, so she grabs ahold of your arm
>It surprises you so you look down at her
>I'm j-just holding on because I'm c-cold, dummy
>You nod and say, "uh-huh, sure"
>Natsuki slaps your torso with the back of her hand and stares ahead into the darkness
>Yuri looks behind at you two and seems heart-warmed to find that Natsuki is holding onto you
>Natsuki begins to say something, probably to defend herself from unspoken accusations, but goes quiet
>It's silent for a few minutes as you follow Yuri and twist through paths before you ask "you sure you know where you're goin, Yuri!"
>She seems to brighten up and say's "Pretty sure!"
>Her lack of confidence seems to bother Natsuki, who lets out a irritated groan, but you have faith in her, being that it seems like she's been here quite a few times before
>You trudge on for a bit longer before Yuri begins whistling
>It's only a half a moment before you realize she's saying Mr. Sandman!
>It sounds oddly pretty being echoed in the sewer, and even Natsuki seems to appreciate the sound of it
>You're surprised how well the acoustics of the sewer are, expecting everything to be obscured in reverb, but it's actually got a nice quality to it
>You head on for another few moments, taking in the cryptic but fascinating scenery before Yuri stops in her tracks, which leads you t and Natsuki to stop. Natsuki coughs and says
>W-what? What's wrong?
>I could've sworn that we were here before
>Natsuki's eyes roll up to your own and they look about as wide as plates
>Ohhhh, no no no.
>Yuri gives an apologetic smile
>It's okay! I've been here plenty of times, we'll be alright. Just give me a few minutes to think things over
>Natsuki sighs and takes a seat somewhere where the concrete is dry, and you and Yuri sit by each of her side
>Natsuki digs into her pocket and pulls out a yellow Gameboy with Spongebob's face plastered onto the back
>She begins playing Super Mario World and she's somewhere on fifth world in the "Forest of Illusions"
>The Gameboy isn't a console that has a lot of volume power, but Natsuki has the volume all the way so it's just loud enough that theres a faint echo of the game's corny MIDI flutes
>You watch her chase through the level and are actually pretty impressed with how she paces herself through the level
>Eventually she finds a level where she grabs a key and puts it in the key hole
>The level complete's and a new path opens which circles back to an older level
>she says under her breath
>what the fuck?
>you burst into laughter at this and she looks up at you, her face bunched up into an angry snarl
>shut up, anon
>you continue laughing and she finds herself smiling as she replays the level
>Yuri looks lost in thought but seems to be smiling at the situation as well
>Eventually Yuri looks up and seems to have a confident expression on her face
>Alright, I know just where to go
>Natsuki shuts the gameboy with a clap sound that echoes through the sewers, and then she stands up
>She waits for you to stand up and once you've brushed yourself off, she grabs onto your arm again
>She could say something about how she's just doing it because she's cold or scared, but you can tell she's really doing it just because she likes holding onto you
>You can also tell she probably doesn't feel ashamed of it either since she's in the dark of the sewers with her best friends
>It looks like your journey is coming to an end, but you feel okay with this, and enjoy the moment while it lasts
>It's quiet for the last five minutes until you reach the end and walk back out into the light of the waking world
