- Sets R1 to Blammo
- Place AF Colorblocks 1 block north of Home.
- Interesting decision of going north after visiting Niccolo instead of West.
- Place AF Wheel 1 block east of Home
- -- Mission - Niccolo's Business Unusual --
- On screen 4 learned Super Slugger (Requires 5 Hammer Points and 5 Lunge Points).
- Place AF Flame 1 block south of Luon Highway
- -- Mission - The Flame of Hope --
- They told Inspector Boyd that they wouldn't help (it's a but though must moment, but it seems to have a longer amount of test). Bought Hammer (ATK 18) from the Gato Weapon Shop for 300 lucre and auto equipped it.
- Place AF Torch of Coral 1 block north of Luon Highway
- -- Mission - Summer Lovin' --
- After the first fight, change Square to Jump.
- In the cave, gets a TrueSpear from Sahagin (Slot 4, 12.5% Chance) which has an ATK of 39 at the first opportunity.
- Learned Ability Somersault (7 Jump Points, 12 Lunge Points) and Technique Lancer (4 Spear Points, 4 Lunge Points)
- Put Lancer on R1.
- Learned Technique Mighty Javelin (5 Spear Points, 5 Jump Points)
- Learned Technique Twister (6 Spear Points, 6 Spin Points)
- Get AF Jade Egg in Domina.
- Place AF Moon's Mirror 1 block south of Home.
- Place AF Jade Egg 1 block east of Luon Highway.
- Place AF Rusty Anchor 1 block south of Gato Grottoes.
- -- Mission - The Lost Princess --
- Puts Lancer on R2, then corrected to Mighty Javelin.
- Learned Technique Cyclone Racer (16 Spear Points, 10 Lunge Points, 12 Spin Points)
- Sided with Pearl instead of Elazul.
- -- Mission - Niccolo's Business Unusual 2 --
- We picked Greenbuns!
- Place AF Broken Doll 1 block east of Gato Grottoes.
- -- Mission - The Infernal Doll --
- Toto is a dick to dolls.
- --- END OF PART 1 ---
- --- BEGIN PART 2 ---
- Place AF Firefly Lamp 1 block south of Tower of Leires.
- Place AF Tome of Magic 1 block west of Lumina.
- Place AF Medallion 1 block north of Geo.
- -- Mission - Faeries' Light --
- Accidentally walked back into the west area once, but otherwise no big surprises.
- -- Mission - The Looking-Glass Tower --
- Tried to stop Pearl, the correct choice. Used both teleporters. Refused to work with Elazul. Took the gap and the one teleporter on the way back down. Showed Jewel Beast the corner. A lovely corner it was.
- -- Mission - Drowned Dreams --
- Accidentally walks out of the west side of town once near the beginning.
- Plant AF Sand Rose 1 block south of Polpota Harbor.
- -- Start - Reach for the Stars --
- Starts the mission in order to move Mephenese to the desert, which saves some time of having to manipulate days during The Lucky Clover, and some text during Alexandrite. Also, the text from the students is faster than the US version. Also, they actually stopped before agreeing to help out and having everybody scatter into the desert and officially start the mission.
- Player returns home, then immediately leaves, necessary to get Elazul to appear in Domina to begin The Lucky Clover. Told Elazul that the place is unsafe as well and sent Pearl to Home.
- Also had to do extra walking to not enter Geo on a Gnome day, because Esmerelda does not appear in school on a Gnome or Undine day.
- -- Mission - The Lucky Clover --
- No principal, no issues. Also instead of leaving the Cafe normally, they stayed the night to cut out one cutscene plus some travel time towards the Palance of Arts. Sent Esmerelda to school, who was immediately kidnapped (as usual). Plastered Jewel Beast's guts to the walls.
- --- END OF PART 2 ---
- --- BEGIN PART 3 ---
- -- Mission - Cosmo --
- Japanese version doesn't kick the player back into home before they head out to Mekiv Caverns. No surprises in the route. Also, Lady Blackpearl rocks. Since Bud and Lisa aren't at home yet, less dialogue at the end of the mission.
- -- Mission - Two Pearls --
- Player talks to Elazul once, then goes up and down the stairs for the other "visits" (4 sets of climbs/descents). Also, The Little Sorcerers is triggered. First usage of Mighty Javelin. Joins Elazul to fight Blackpearl.
- Heads Home first to trigger the next Elazul/Pearl appearance in Domina.
- -- Mission - The Little Sorcerers --
- Picks up Pearl before taking her into danger at the edge of town.
- -- Mission - Alexandrite --
- Player is not kicked back into Domina before heading off to Geo. Gathers the keys in the order of entrance, prinicipal office, and instrument shop. Since Reach for the Stars was slightly started, Mephalise is still in the desert, so less dialogue here.
- Place AF Frozen Heart 1 block west of Geo.
- -- Start - Can't Look Back --
- Only started to cause Reach for the Stars to fail. This prevents Enchanted Instruments 101 from triggering, which occurs if Reach for the Stars is completed. Also, Reach for the Stars needs to be either completed or failed to trigger Flourite.
- -- Mission - Flourite --
- Talks to Niccolo a lot to make it through the desert. 5 visits costs 1000 lucre. Jewel Beast dies again.
- Player returns Home to trigger Inspector Boyd's appearance in Domina, to prepare for the next mission.
- Setup begins for Teardrop Crystal. Player takes Pearl/Blackpearl, then talks to Elazul to get SwordOfFate (ATK 50, 1H Sword).
- --- END OF PART 3 ---
- --- BEGIN PART 4 ---
- Place AF Jumi's Staff 1 block north of the Jungle (2 blocks north of Geo).
- Place AF Trembling Spoon 1 block north of Bejeweled City.
- -- Mission - Teardrop Crystal --
- (Gems for the curious: Red: Ruby, Green: Emerald, Yellow: Topaz, Blue: Sapphire, Purple: Amethyst, Light Blue: Aquamarine, White: Diamond)
- 1st floor - circles around counterclockwise.
- Swaps weapon to SwordOfFate. Swaps X to Somersault.
- After the first Jewel Beast fight, player learned 3 techniques: Iai Strike (3 1H Sword Points, 3 Lunge Points), Cutting Bamboo (4 1H Sword Points, 4 Jump Points), and Maelstrom (6 1H Sword Points, 6 Spin Points)
- Swaps X to Defend. Puts Cutting Bamboo on R1. Puts Maelstrom on R2.
- First usage of Maelstrom in the Emerald room. In the Ruby room, learned Triple Tiger (8 1H Sword Points, 3 Somersault points). Guesses the combination on the 2nd try.
- 2nd floor - circles around counterclockwise.
- Puts Triple Tiger on L2. Uses Cutting Bamboo (for stun) and Triple Tiger on Jewel Beast to destroy it (during Triple Tiger, the boss was on blue and was taken down to red, meaning they suffered probably around 1200 damage, while only getting hit from 2 of the 3 hits on Triple Tiger). Learned the ability Counterattack (8 Defend Points) after Jewel Beast. Took 4 tries to get the combo after the fight, but managed to do it without having all the available gems (player didn't have Amethyst). Player learned Defensive Lunge (12 Defend Points, 8 Lunge Points) on the revisit to the Sapphire room.
- Player swaps out X to Defensive Lunge (in error) then swaps to Counterattack.
- 3rd floor - circles around Counterclockwise. During the Jewel Beast fight, player uses Cutting Bamboo/Triple Tiger combo. Blackpearl used Blazing Hammer (though too late to be of any use).
- Interesting note about the cutscene on the 3rd floor. While the text in both versions are without background boxes, the locations in the Japanese version much better indicates who's talking, because of its positioning. The US is mostly static, only going between a high position (indicating Ruben) vs a low position (one of the Clover sisters).
- Player initially tries the combo without having Diamond, but after one guess, stops, since they only got 1/4 (there's 7 gems, so only getting one means they only had at max 3/4, thus Diamond HAD to be one of the combo). Player learned Counterstrike (6 Counterattack points) in the Diamond room.
- Player swaps X to Counterstrike.
- Guessed the combo on the 3rd try after getting Diamond.
- Lord of Jewels 999 was actually able to block the 2nd and 3rd hits of Triple Tiger. Crazy. Player got their revenge for that though.
- Tried Triple Tiger on Lord of Jewels 1000, but only the 3rd hit connected. On the 2nd one, both the 2nd and 3rd hits connected, dealing massive damage, dying shortly after. Tears were shed, lives were saved! Remember to be thoughtful of all races. :)
- Place AF Stone Eye 1 block south of Lumina.
- Place AF Ancient Tablet 1 block south of Geo (1 block west of Lake Kilma).
- AF Pirate's Hook is left in the inventory as there are enough AFs on the field.
- Player enters and leaves Home to trigger the next mission.
- -- Mission - Cage of Dreams --
- Refuses to listen to Pokiehl, then heads off that screen and back before going into the workshop to skip Pokiehl's text. Rest is status quo.
- Place AF Sword of Mana west of Bejeweled City (2 blocks west of Home).
- -- Mission - Legend of Mana --
- Welcome to the sanctuary of mana. Also, Basalisks (the monsters that jump and try to squish you) are annoying as hell.
- Mana Goddess dies quickly with a Triple Tiger and a few Counterstrikes.
- Good run!
