1. AUTHOR'S NOTE: So, after months of doing literally nothing with this fic, I have decided that a rewrite is in order. There are parts that deserve, if I'm being generous, a 7.5/10, and other parts that deserve a 3.5/10. With that information in mind, I haven't exactly been satisfied with it. The rewrite won't begin now, but it will happen. I'll leave this up for those who do, for whatever reason, seem to like this. The contents are that of Part 1 and the unreleased/unfinished Part 2.
2.
3. Hello!
4.
5. Welcome to the world of Pokémon!
6.
7. My name is Cheerilee! People call me the Pokémon Professor!
8.
9. This is what we call a “Pokemon”
10.
11. This world is widely inhabited by these creatures.
12.
13. We humans live alongside Pokémon, at times as friendly playmates, and at times as cooperative workmates!
14.
15. Sometimes, we even band together and battle others like us.
16.
17. But despite our closeness, we don’t know everything about Pokémon. In fact, there are many, many secrets surrounding Pokémon.
18.
19. To understand more about Pokémon, I’ve decided to undertake research, as well as share my findings with the classes I teach!
20.
21. Oh! I almost forgot! Sorry, I’m a bit new at this.
22.
23. What is your name?
24.
25. >Enter Name: Norman
26.
27. That’s… a perfectly average name for a boy like yourself!
28.
29. Now… this troublemaker here… He’s your friend, right?
30.
31. What might his name be?
32.
33. >Brad
34.
35. Brad, is it? That’s your friend’s name?
36.
37. All right, Norman, the time has come.
38.
39. Your very own tale of wonder and excitement is about to unfold.
40.
41. On your journey, you will make many wonderful memories.
42.
43. I’m sure that along the way you will come to learn many things as you experience trials and hardships.
44.
45. Now, come on, it’s your time to shine! Leap into the world of Pokémon!
46.
47. …………..
48.
49. >Day “Dreams Don’t Last Forever” in the world of Pokémon
50. >Be Norman Normal
51. >Man, what you would give for something new
52. >It’s been 17 years and you STILL don’t have a Pokémon to your name
53. >You’ve tried to get one, really you have
54. >But they all end with you getting mauled in some way shape or form
55. >It really doesn’t help that all of the other kids left on their journeys four years ago
56. >You didn’t really enjoy their company, most of them were jerks
57. >But it was better company than nothing
58. >”Nothing” is going to be replaced by “Something” today, you could feel it
59. >Donning your attire of choice, you make your way downstairs for breakfast
60. >If there is one good thing about being stuck in this house, it’s your mother’s amazing cooking
61. >Your pace quickened as the smell of pancakes wafted through the air
62. >”Norman! Your breakfast is ready!”
63. >Perfect timing, you just made it down the stairs
64. >”You seem excited” she notes, turning back to the stove when you grab the plate
65. Of course I am, why wouldn’t I be?
66. >You set the plate down before hoping onto the couch
67. Today’s the day, you know.
68. >”Oh do I? Last I recall, “The day” was last week as well”
69. Psh, shut up. It’s today, I just know it!
70. >”Tell me that when you catch a Pokémon, dear.” She quips
71. >You give a lighthearted chuckle in return, directing your attention to the food laid out in front of you
72. >It was “the day” every single time you raised enough money to buy a decent number of Pokéballs
73. >One can imagine how many times “the day” has ended in failure, with you being 17 and all.
74. >It’s amazing how you’ve managed to not lose hope throughout the years
75. >With silverware raised and a gluttonous look on your face, you prepare to gouge the soft, fluffy exterior of the pancakes with a mighty fork
76. >Then the doorbell rang
77.
78. >”Norman! Be a dear and get that for me, would you?”
79. >With a groan of dissatisfaction, you begrudgingly cease your murderous intents and follow your mother’s will
80. >Their time would come
81. >As you walked farther from the current object of your desires, you mind couldn’t help but wander
82. >Your mother has had friends come to the house before, but never this early
83. >With a click from the lock and a swing of the door, the guest is revealed to be…
84. >Nope
85. >Out of gut instinct, you slam the door in their face
86. >Which have worked, had they not predicted it ahead of time and jammed their foot in the door
87. >”Still as rude as you were when I left. What a shame, I thought you would have gotten some manner by now “Never”.”
88. My name is “Norman”, Sunset.
89. >”Like I care.”
90. >With no regard for your well-being or the door’s, she barges her way inside
91. >The heck that girl think she’s doing here?
92. >Your mother comes rushing by, and upon seeing Sunset, gave a warm smile
93. >”Sunset Shimmer, it’s been so long!” She started, giving her a hug as she got close
94. >To your mother, Sunset is the daughter she never had
95. >To you, she is everything wrong with the world
96. >Returning the hug, Sunset came off as pleasant as she could be.
97. >”I know! It’s been such a long time Ms. Normal.”
98. >The added cuddle was not necessary, Sunset
99. >They parted, walking into the living room and beginning to catch up
100. >You didn’t follow, opting to head to the stairs that lead to your room instead
101. >That is, until you caught the tiniest snippit of their conversation
102. >”Thanks… letting me stay… couple of months…”
103. >No
104. >No, you weren’t going to put up with that
105. >Your feet have never moved faster than they had in that moment when you ran out the door
106. >It was official, there was no other choice left for you
107. >If today wasn’t “the day”, you would make it be
108. >You had to, or else suffer the equivalent to eternal damnation
109.
110. >Route 1
111. >In the past, you had always come here with a smile on your face
112. >One that was filled with hope, determination
113. >Now... now you didn't.
114. >You still wore the same clothing you did back then
115. >A clenched hand holding a Pokéball at your side, just like before
116. >Yet even so, the situation had changed
117. >It was either catch it now, or face the consequences
118. >Even with this fact in mind, your legs shook with anticipation, but made no effort to move
119. >To be frank, you were nervous, and rightfully so
120. >Your thoughts lingered on the fact that you may not follow your dreams today
121. >The fact that you will suffer through ten kinds of hell should you fail.
122. >You intake a large gulp of air
123. >it was now, or never
124. >You take one step forward
125. >And another step
126. >Soon enough, you are walking, even if it felt as if there were anchors weighing down each and every movement you made
127. >Your journey is halted before you even reach the tall grass
128. >”WAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIT” called a loud, and desperate voice from the east
129. >You stop, turning your body in surprise from the outburst
130. >Only to be knocked right off your feet
131. >You hit the dirt, feeling your assailant struggle to get up
132. >Dust had risen in the air on impact, obscuring your vision just enough to conceal their identity
133. >They jump, continuing to make their escape as footsteps are heard approaching from the distance
134. >It took a second to process, but as soon as you did you gave a groan
135. >Today just had to be this bad, didn't it?
136. >You begin to sit up, rubbing your head as you try to adjust
137. >...Where did your Pokéball go?
138. >A weary curse came from some nearby bushes, distracting you from your thoughts
139. >"Damn... it..."
140. >A boy, seeming to be around your age with ocean blue hair, fell flat on his face upon arriving
141. >His clothes were ragged, his body lightly battered and bruised...
142. >And for some reason, slightly burnt as well
143. >Before you could even get up, whether to help him or ask questions, one, final thing occurred
144. >A ding
145. >You turn your head to look back, eyes widening and mouth slightly agape at what you saw
146. >The multicolored sphere that you once held now had a fading red glow on its button
147. >Then, you realized it
148. >You were saved
149.
150. >At first, you were in an unbreakable state of disbelief
151. >There was no way that it could've been that easy
152. >None
153. >You even hesitated to pick it up, feeling as if the monster inside would break out at any second
154. >But as soon as your hand made contact with the smooth, outer shell of the red and white cage
155. >As soon as you held it to eye level, coming to terms with reality
156. Dude...
157. >You broke into a rather large, unnerving grin
158. It really happened!
159. >Throwing your hands in the air and holding the sphere aloft, you became a madman
160. I FINALLY DID IT, AFTER SEVENTEEN YEARS I FINALLY DID IT!
161. >You held back down, your spirit seeming to burn with the intensity of multiple passions
162. >It was time
163. >You took a step back, preparing to launch the sphere forward to call out your new companion
164. Go! Pokéba-
165. >A tan hand grabs your wrist, and another grabs your waist
166. >You can feel every breath going down your neck
167. >...Suddenly, you don't feel as confident as before
168. >"Is that... what I think it is?"
169. Um... What do you think it is?
170. >"You should know." he drawls, seemingly seductive with his intents
171. >His loose arm snakes its way across your waist
172. >"Aren't you the one who caught it," he whispers in your ear, "Beautiful?"
173. >NOPENOPENOPENOPENOPE
174. >SUNSET IS BETTER THAN THIS
175. >RUN EVACUATION.AVI
176. >ABORT MISSION
177.
178. NO
179. >You rip yourself from his grasp, an easier task than you thought
180. >His expression of molestation slowly morphed into one of stark shock, followed by realization
181. >"Oh." he said, prepared to run as you reared your arm back
182. FUCK OFF
183. >He wanted your balls, you gave him only one
184. >The orb you threw ricocheted off his head, flying off into the distance
185. >As he recoiled in pain, your only thought is to make like a banana
and leave
186. >So that is exactly what you did, you got out of there
187. >Or at least, you would have
188. >After only taking a few steps, you remembered the entire reason you came here
189. >Looking back, you see it, sitting only a few feet away from the almost recovered blue-haired stranger
190. >Seventeen years
191. >You're not going to leave it behind
192. >Feet ran desperately across the ground for the third time that day
193. >"Wait, stop-"
194. >You don't hear him, bending down to grab the ball as you ran by, you shout the phrase you've only dreamed of saying before
195. GO! I CHOOSE YOU!
196. >And then it flew
197. >High up into the air it went, stopping for a brief moment to open up
198. >A red beam is released, and soon your monster is out on the field
199. >It is an Eevee
200. >Its coat is mattered, its breath, heavy
201. >You knew it must have been from its earlier chase, and part of you felt bad for sending it out
202. >The other part only desired sweet, sweet revenge
203. >"Listen to me," the boy states backing up a bit as he continuously fumbled to grab a ball from his belt, "It was an honest mistake, I swear-"
204. TACKLE!
205. >The Eevee's movements start out slow, beginning to build up its pace every second
206. >"Oh no," He says, when finally his hand manages to grab what he wants
207. >"Dickachu, intercept it!" he says, tossing it into the air
208. >Another beam of light, a yellow mouse leaps from its cage
209. >And lands on top of your fox, static coming out of its cheeks
210. >The Eevee falls from the newly gained weight, not able to support it
211. >You look up, mouthing the word "No" as you witness the outcome
212. >"Thundershock!" He says, ferocity in his voice
213. >And so it does
214. >You fall your knees, watching as your first Pokémon is electrocuted before you
215. >The adrenaline rush you felt from the entire experience, gone within an instant
216. >Now... now you just feel exhausted
217. >You close yours eyes and fall forward
218. >Trainer Norman has whited out
219.
220. >Your vision finally decides to make its comeback
221. >Just in time too, you were just about to wake up
222. >With a groan and a stretch, popping your back in the process, you sit up
223. >It's time for another day in the life of Normal No-
224. >...This isn't your room
225. >The walls around you are littered with various kinds of crap
226. >Guitars, hanging shelves with way too many Pokémon merchandise, posters...
227. >Where the hell are you?
228. >You hop off the bed, taking another, more detailed look around the room
229. >A nearby window gives you a rather nice, high view of the nearby scenery
230. >Yet, despite the admittedly excellent view, you are left perplexed
231. >Did you somehow switch houses while you were asleep?
232. >The rattle of a nearby doorknob snaps you out of your perplexity
233. >You turn around, seeing the door open and allowing a blue-haired individual to enter
234. >He seemed familiar to you, almost as if you met him already...
235. >When he turns to look at you, a smile on his face, your mind begins to jump-start
236. >As the memories begin to flood in your mind, you are left in a daze, acting almost as if you are a Stantler caught in headlights
237. >"Sweet, you're awake"
238. >A multicolored object is tossed your way before you can react
239. >You fumble, stuttering out a few words as your mind tries to process the current situation
240. >"Meet me outside. 'Gonna grab one or two things before we go."
241. Wait- what?
242. >"What, what?" He replies, rummaging through a nearby dresser, "It's pretty simple to figure out."
243. No, I mean... what?
244. >No seriously, you had no idea what was going on
245. >"Just do it, dude. I'm only going to be a second,"
246. But-
247. >He gives you no time for response, pushing you out of the room before you can even begin a second word
248. >The door locks behind you, and you are left standing there confused out of your mind
249. >Didn't... didn't he try to rape you yesterday?
250. >As the series of events that had occurred on that route replay in your head, you make your way to the nearby loveseat
251. >It's pretty comfortable, but not enough to throw you from your thoughts
252. >You are left to stare at the ball he had given you, not recalling what had been inside of it
253. >What exactly happened earlier?
254. >Is your memory faulty? He wouldn't be treating you like nothing happened if it did happen... right?
255. >For all you know, it might just be. You can barely remember a thing after the act itself
256. >You got mad, sent out the Pokémon, felt tired...
257. >You start to recline against the loveseat, its cushiony surface providing no comfort as you continued to think
258. >Maybe you could ask him yourself?
259. >...No, even if he doesn't seem harmful now he isn't all that trustworthy to begin with
260. >And it's not like anything else-
261. >...
262. >You quickly glance at the ball in your hand
263. >Maybe you coul-
264. >"I'm ready!" announces the teen as he throws a door open
265. >You instinctively slip the ball in your jacket pocket at the loud and sudden noise, as if to prevent it from being subjected by prying eyes
266. >You'll figure things out eventually, there's another problem to deal with for now.
267. >Looking over the back of the loveseat, you take a look at your enemy
268. >The only thing different about him now is his guitar case, accompanied by a navy blue bag that is slung alongside it.
269. >He leans over the back of the loveseat, turning his head to look you in the eye while a lighthearted is plastered on his face
270. >"Enjoy your stay at "El Casa De Brad?"
271. >"Brad", good to know
272. It was crap.
273. >He gives an amused chuckle while he stands back up straight, probably thinking it was a joke
274. >A little known fact: waking up in the house of a believed-to-be-rapist isn't exactly a dream vacation.
275. >Not only that, but you've been here for like, what, five minutes?
276. >"Well that's good to know. We aren't going to be here much longer."
277. >He grips the entrances doorknob and gives it a slight twist before continuing.
278. >"Mom and dad still don't know they forgot about my key."
279. ...Huh?
280. >He gives a slight wave of his hand as if to brush away the thought
281. >"It's nothing to worry about."
282. >The door opens up, revealing the outside and all of it's glory to the both of you.
283. >Instead of the bright, luminous rays of the morning sun, the dimmer glow of the midday light is what awaited on the other side.
284. >You honestly didn't think you were out that long.
285. >"Bradical."
286. >He makes his way past you, his hand brushing slightly against you before stopping just a few steps outside
287. >"5:43, we'll have just enough time if we hurry."
288. Enough time for what?
289. >With a twist of his body and a flash of a smirk, he replies as if it was the most obvious thing in the world
290. >"To get you your 'Dex, what else?"
291. >What.
292. "...'Dex?"
293. >There is no chance he means what you think he does
294. >None
295. >"Yeah, a 'Dex."
296. >His feet continue about the path as he readjusts himself
297. >"One of the Elite Six is handing them out to trainers at the library, today's the final day for it."
298. >That's Tauros crap
299. >You're not buying it, not one second
300. Thanks, but no thanks, Brad.
301. >You shove your hands in the pockets of your pants, beginning to trudge your way towards the direction you HOPE your house is
302. I already got what I wanted, and I need to pack before leaving on an adventure.
303. >"I thought you might say that, thanks for the Eevee by the way."
304. Yeah, sure, don't mention i-
305. >...Wait a second
306. >Your left hand darts to the jacket pocket you KNOW you put the Eevee in
307. >Empty
308. >...
309. >You remember the slight brush from when he walked by you
310. >That sneaky son of a bitch
311. >His feet hit the ground loud and hard as soon as he's realized you figured it out
312. >He has chosen his fate, and will not live to see the sunrise
313. >You'll make sure of that
314.
315. _____________________________________________________________________
316.
317. >You are now one of the Elite Six
318. >Most people refer to you as the Bearer of Magic, the Princess of the In-Between, the Student of the Sun
319. >Now, you are referred to as the girl rampaging near the library
320. >You're just worried! It's a natural reaction!
321. >...Alright, maybe tackling that one man wasn't the brightest of idea, but you've had worse!
322. >You've turned the entire town over and back in a desperate search, nothing has been found
323. >What would the Princess think if she found out you managed to screw up this badly!?
324. >*sluuurrrp*
325. >Your head snaps in the direction of your faithful assistant, Spike
326. >At first, he was very sweet during the ordeal
327. >Helping search, making many MANY attempts to calm you down- which worked for a while, and being the person you expected him to be
328. >Now? Now he's sitting down, slurping a smoothie with a bored expression on his face
329. SPIKE, NOW IS NOT THE TIME TO BE TAKINGS BREAKS
330. >"Twi, we both know there's nothing I can do at this point"
331. >Truth be told, he's right
332. >All of his methods of search, exhausted with nothing turning up
333. >That doesn't mean you were going to tolerate his insubordination
334. There is a child MISSING Spike, as the faithful assistant of the leader of the Elite Six, you are expected to help!
335. >"And I did!" he says, throwing his arms up into the sky, "You can't keep pushing me like this Twi, there's only so much a Smeargle can do!"
336. Yeah, but YOU'RE not a Smeargle, are you? Now get up, we need to keep looking
337. >He sets aside his delicious concoction, getting out of his seat and approaching you.
338. >"Twi, it's been hours, not a single thing has been found- your team is made up of Psychic Pokemon for heaven's sake!"
339. >He puts a hand on your shoulder
340. >"He's GONE Twilight, a trainer has caught him at this point."
341. You don't know that-
342. >"He's an EEVEE Twilight. Do you really think that there's going to be a trainer who wouldn't make an effort to catch it?"
343. >He takes one of your hands, embracing it with his own, giving a slight squeeze in reassurance
344. Buh-but there's still chance! He could still be out there and-and...
345. >You're fooling yourself and you know it
346. >A small trickle of water leaves your eyes
347. I.. I'm sorry Spike. It's just that they trusted me and I...
348. >You begin to sob, Spike starts to guide you back to the entrance of the library as your vision blurs
349. >" I know, I was there. It'll be okay Twilight, I'm sure Nox and Sol will forgive you."
350. I lost their child Spike, how could they ever forgive me for that?
351. >"They just will, I know it. They're your friends Twilight, and you of all people should know that friends never abandon eachother, even in the hardest times."
352. >The doors loudly creaks as it opens, Spike ushering you into the building with its comforting warmth.
353. >"Now come on, I'll make us some dinner."
354.
355. ___________________________________________________________
356.
357. >You are now Brad, and you hate everything
358. >In this momentary pause of time, you are left hanging in the middle of the air.
359. >The question of the day is, "Why?"
360. >Someone decided that it'd be an AMAZING idea to leave a perfectly good smoothie on some brick bordering.
361. >That very same bordering just so happened to be your escape path.
362. >You were so close too! The library is RIGHT THERE.
363. >Well, if you're going to crash, better make it cool
364. FRONT FLIP FOR STYLE!
365. >...Holy shit, you actually stuck the-
366. >"CRAP- NO-"
367. >Beanie Boy Wonder on the other hand isn't so lucky
368. >He ends up careening in the air the same way you did
369. >...In the same direction.
370. GAH-
371. >As your hit with his flailing body, the Eevee's Pokeball goes flying out of your hand
372. >Both you and the beanbag groan for a second, coming to full attention when the ball has finally been noticed a few feet away from you both
373. >Your assailant practically leapt off of the minute he saw it
374. >You grab his leg before he can get too far, causing him to fall to the ground yet again
375. >A dirty trick, yes, but a necessary one.
376. >You snatch the ball at your belt and prepare to throw
377. Get the ball, Dickachu!
378. >Just like that, your assholish, female companion is sent out of its prison
379. >At the same time, your face is met by the foot of the white brunette
380. >He makes another dash for it while you grip your face in pain
381. >Between two of your fingers, you can see your "trusted" partner clean her paws instead making any effort
