Minecraft 1.20.1 Prominence II v2.3.0 Fabric Quickstart Guide

Interested in joining Polar-Star's Minecraft 1.20.1 Prominence II v2.3.0 Minecraft server? Well here's a whole "How to" guide for setup!
The server is completely open to anyone to join, but there is a whitelist. If you'd like to join, please shoot me a message with any Minecraft usernames you'd like to be whitelisted and I would be happy to do so. Feel free to invite anyone you want!
Join the Discord server to get access to the Minecraft chat to talk with your fellow users on the server! We would be more than happy to help you if you're having problems installing the modpack. You'll also be up to date on any server maintenance or events that may occur.

This section is specifically about the Prism Launcher, if you have a different launcher you'd like to use, feel free to do so. It is still recommended to install at least the first optional pack of mods near the bottom however.
1. Download Prism Launcher and install/unzip it to a secure location.

2. After initial set up, log into your Microsoft account by clicking the "Manage accounts" button at the top.

3. Click "Add Instance" at the top, and in the new window on the left go to "Modrinth" and search for "Prominence II [FABRIC]", if you're reading this in the far off future, make sure in the bottom right corner it says "Prominence II [FABRIC] 2.3.0" to get the correct version.

4. Once installed, just double click and you're ready to go.
(OPTIONAL BUT RECOMMENDED): Before you launch the game, right click on your new Prominence II install and click "Edit..." one it opens, click on "Settings" and check the little box that says "Memory". It is highly recommended that you use 6144MB+ to play the mod-pack, but lower values still may work. The minimum requirement to run the mod-pack is 4096MB. Next I also highly recommend swapping out your Java installation with either GraalVM or Eclipse Adoptium HotSpot, both Java 17. If you want to use GraalVM there's a little bit more of a set up, you will have to provide your own arguments. You can get a good idea of what to do here, specifically on the sections "Client G1GC" and "GraalVM EE Java Arguments".

It is also highly recommended that you install some extra mods. Specifically included in this pack is the "Simple Voice Chat" mod, which is not required, but will greatly enhance your experience in the server. Don't be surprised if someone walks up to you staring at you not doing anything, they're probably trying to chat in game.
Below is three optional packs of client side mods. They are NOT required to join the server but I strongly advise installing the first pack. The first is what I consider "essential" and recommend everyone downloads it, the second is a lot more subjective, and the last is a controller mod if you're playing on something like a Steam Deck or just using a standard controller.

Just drop these in the mods folder, which you can easily access in the instance window from earlier, and on the left side click "Mods" and then in the bottom right click "View Folder", you can dump any files you need right in there.

5. Once the game is open, you will likely be prompted to download a few extra mods. Just follow the on screen prompts, download the necessary mods, and put them in the respective mod folder of the modpack. Once that's done and you're rebooted, click on the "Multiplayer" tab and add the server to your list or direct connect using the IP "hotmilk.space:25566".
