  1. Ok I actually just found some very old post on reddit talking about paladin. It actually happens to be a gold mine of knowledge on information about theorycraft. So some things I already knew about along with things that explain what I know and why it happens that I didn't understand.
  2. SoR (seal of righteousness) more times than not is a better DPS seal than SoC (seal of command) This is because of two factors one of which I knew. It has true damage scaling with the weapon speed so if you're using a 3.5 or faster weapon it will scale more damage with it's 100% activation rate and damage based on your attack speed coeficcient. I did not know that the damage is considered a second melee swing that does physical damage. This means procc based weapons and trinkets are amazing with SoR as is the ability to get extra life or mana from JoW or JoL.
  3.
  4. SoTC is broken and, intentinoally. The judgement scaling is only proffitable after 25 seconds of combat up time or roughly 11 swings of SoR or 3 activations of SoC.
  5.
  6. SoC is PPM of 7. Combat active time is a hidden value we cannot measure thus you need to scale it off of weapon damage and, get the least amount of swings per minute to game getting a proc each mob.
  7.
  8. Protection tree cannibalizes itself. The +Deffense talents, The +Parry talents, and anything similar cause your protection stuff to stop working. It's all based on yourself being critically hit or blocking. If you can be missed by the mob (10 more deffense than their level apropriate attack) Parry Dodge or glancing blow then you cannot block or be criticaled (you are inable to be crit by most enemies if you can be missed by them) so redoubt and reckoning can be turned off. Holy shield can be stopped along with BoSanct. We cannot force the buffs to be gained by setting down. So it's really only viable post 50 and not so much by talent activations but by very specific high mana and external damage source based gear.
  9.
  10. Holy post 21 points requires a bit of equipment to gain value but, ironically it's obtainable very low. Getting as many of healing items as possible while not crippling your intellect entirely is a good way to be more efficient without needing to critically heal by being able to use Holy light rank 2 or 3 (it's always a 2.5 cast time so we can get really damn cheap on this yay for paladin) or FoL any rank (yay).
  11.
  12. Ret's value is ironically 13 points in. The seal of command and persuit of justice talents. Delving deeper into ret will improve your efficiency in awkward ways. 5% flat damage, 10% holy damage aura, 5% critical, 15% damage after a crit 10 seconds, and lastly one of the ironically best talents 5% parry which may as well be 5% chance to take 0 damage and swing again imediately. However the % damage increase after a critical the flat 5% damage and likely the 10% holy damage aura are not obtainable if you play a holy ret hybrid but, you can still get SoC and the movement speed from persuit along with 5% crit from conviction.
  13.
  14. While after learning all of this I still don't know how to go about building presently to level. SoR with proc weapons and items (enchants like fiery are astonishingly good). Which requires nothing at all from ret just gains benefits from the passives i mentioned. Holy offers nothing but QoL in dungeons and open world for the 0 pushback talent. by the 50+ range it will be exceptionally more noticeable mostly due to dungeon drop equipment that actually does things besides just stats.
  15.
  16. So in the end i can shoot for my present build of holy into prot 30/21/0 (blessing of sanctuary pvp talents and all healing efficiency presently this doesn't do much but quality of life in the world and healing dungeons later 50+ i can aoe grind but will need the gear that i probably won't have untill late 60s)
  17. 21/0/30 This is a deep ret getting all of the useful talents but getting the mana return on critical heals and 2 minute CD forced critical heal while opting out of 5% critical heal chance
  18. 30/0/21 You get the movement speed critical chance and holy damage aura while getting all of the neccesary healing efficiency talents to be able to do both with moderate efficiency
  19. 5/8/rest deep ret only can swing a 2 hander and then heal when not in combat maximizes efficency of damage but absolutely tanks your ability to recover mana or health you will drink frequently but probably have 12-18S kill speeds if not better involving some external damage sources
