  1.
  2. samurai and knights: were the differences were greater than the differences.
  3. both samurai and knights were interesting warriors in medieval history. in both lands , problems in the government caused both lands to adopt a system of a new system called feudalism. in these conditions two warriors, the samurai and knights, rised up to help maintain balance. this leads many to believe that that they were similar, but because of their differences in their social status, there miliary ways, and there feelings of death and honor.
  4.
  5. One reason why the samurai and knights are not similar is because of their social statuses. While knights were the 2nd upin the feudal pyramid, samurai were they 3rd. This means they were looked at differently by their fellow citizens (doc a). Also the loyalties were different between the two, Were as a samurai’s allegiance was hereditary, a knight could break his father’s vow (doc b). All this meant that samurai had more social power, despite being eternally in debt to his master.
  6.
  7. Another reason why the samurai were different then the knights was there military training, as people became samurai at an earlier age than knights, and the fact that women could be samurai (doc c). Another reason was their armor, while knights had heavy, slow armor; samurai had light weight armor (doc d). This means that samurai were lighter and younger than knights.
  8.
  9. one final reason was that they viewed death and honor differently. knights, unlike samurai, showed more allegiance to their king then there master, whereas samurai acted only for his specific master. (doc e). knights also took a more religious look on death, were the samurais seemed to be more remorseful. in all, this means they thought differently (doc F), in addition to being physically different
  10. in all, samuri what samuri have in common with knights is dwarfed by their differences socially, military, and psychologically. this is important because although they were in similar economic times, they adapted to it diferen
