It shone through, he didn't know how or why, the weight of it felt a bit off, compared to the other models he had loaded in with. For a while, the serene neighborhood seemed quiet, too quiet.
'The others must still be loading in.' He thought to himself, trying to quickly pick his class and load out before the announcers voice counted down. Fayt hated this part, he knew it was all fake, the Holographic arena of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 being something only a select few users could actually take part in. the others loaded in one by one, Blackrose, Kips, Techdeck, and two noobs no one could find the player IDs for.
'Psh, Beta Testers.' Fayt thought to himself as the numbers glowed, shifted, and changed in front of him.
"Three!" The deep, growling voice shouted out, Kips had loaded in by the blue house, Blakerose by the big rigs open trailer, and Techdeck had loaded in in the back yard of the Orange house. Fayt thought to himself about how far gaming had come since Sony released a very affordable Holoarena to the public two years back for a few seconds while the countdown continued on. The force fields maintaining the Holographic immersion of Nuketown held up quite nicely.
"Two!"
Everyone's mind clicked into gamer mode, but something about the Full Immersion Holo-gaming seemed a bit off. A bit too real, Fayt shook the thought, in the corners of his sight were the displays for the weapon in hand, the ammo count to the lower right. to the lower left was the score count for both teams, on top of that was the timer for the match. Suddenly, the scent of fresh cut grass hit his nose.
The sounds of sprinklers clicking on.
The timed event of birds chirping, and the warmth of the sun made him lose all focus.
"One!"
The match had begun, and Fayts instinct kicked in, his thumbs uselessly maneuvering nothing.
"Right, I've got to use m y whole body." He reminded himself, dashing towards the blue houses backyard, he knew the perfect spot to hold, and hopefully, Kips didn't have the same thing.
