  1. Yo.
  2.
  3. I love reading pastebins, I loved BSG Annual 2019, but I suck at writing. Anywho, here goes, and I assume it will be lengthy.
  4.
  5. Let's start with the beginning, setup day. When we arrived and could enter the event rooms, I was surprised by how the rooms were and how much the hotel actually helped us set up shop. We quickly started unpacking the vans and cars and since we didn't have a real plan yet, how to setup the room. After setting up the room, which wasn't too long, we found out our internet wasn't what we were promised we'd get. I found out that the hotel actually unplugged one of their office PC's so that we could do our event, and they had 1 workstation less. Next to that, the hotel staff was unbelieveably helpful in helping us get better speeds. We did get better speeds, a bit less than expected, but definitely workable and didn't get any framedrops all event, so that was good.
  6.
  7. Stream:
  8. The stream was amazing. I spent too much time behind the tech desk, both doing shifts, teaching people how to do tech or audio, or chilling there because it's a cozy spot to talk to the tech people and look at runs at the same time. Perks of being head of tech 8-).
  9. Other than that, I did help setting u a lot of runs where I felt I was needed. CRTs are and will always be a pain to set up, especially with our current setup, and it doesn't help that wii's with composite cables also caused a lot of headaches. I was there for only 1 setup like that, but it caused our new senior tech Plumber and even Box a lot of headaches. But mostly, the stream was pretty smooth.
  10. One challenging thing was the SM ALTTP randomizer ralay race, which had 80 minutes of setup time. But a lot of the time was a time of being really tense. I was mostly running around and setting up all the tech, little desk at the other side of the room for the co-comms, and generally during it also coming up with some stream improvements. The biggest problem was Audio. I made a mixer scene file during the event, and found out some inputs/outputs were wrong, and it was really problematic to figure things out. Sniperwave was mostly in charge of it, and became crazy because of it, but TheOnlyJoey stepped in like a true god and definitely helped us out of some hot water.
  11.
  12. Plans for next BSGs: Iron out the tech side even MORE so I can chill more.
  13.
  14. My runs:
  15. TWW Rando was chill. Good/godly seed. 40 minutes under estimate, sorry schedule-team! I'd give my performance a 7 though. Shout outs to Quimito99 for co-comms.
  16.
  17. Lara Croft was alright. We might have PB'd, and had a really solid performance. Shout outs to Someone for being a girl who sucks at grapple jumping :upside_down_emoji:
  18.
  19. Goat Sim: Terrible. Had to totally re-do a map because I forgot !!2!! trophies, and got 5 minutes over my estimate. I'm happy getting Catified got met as an incentive.
  20.
  21. Katana Zero was so-so. The game is hella-fun, and I am not too bad at it, but that run, my emotions are weird. It was a little bit over my PB, but it was so awful. I feel like I can crank a 21 or 20 in All Stages. I did die too much to Psycho boss than I would have liked.
  22.
  23. DKC Tropical Freeze: This was the run I was looking forward the most. My first 3 worlds were really solid, but after world 5 I dropped too much spaghetti. At the end of the run, RDV got the run of his life, and I am happy for him. Unfortunately, he screamed too loudly in the microphone, so I had to throw off my headphones and do the final boss really tilted, and that was seeable from my performance. I would like to thank GreenSnowDog and RDV for being good competitors and Tinytim dropping some good knowledge bombs, but I really have mixed feelings about the complete picture. Both my fault and other factors.
  24.
  25. Ape Escape 2 was my last run on the last day, 2 hours of catching 297 monkeys, and that was really chill. Halfway through the run I got BadRNG a microphone (sorry audio guy) and ust had a lot of fun. The performance was really good, and even though my time was higher than I would have liked, but wasn't too bad. I am sad Monkey Football didn't happen, but you can't win it all.
  26.
  27. Kwirk: I didn't think I would actually contribute by the start of the event, but I got to play a little bit, and decided to sign up. I didn't do badly. TEAM PLUBER.
  28.
  29. Runs I co-commentated on:
  30. Yoshi's Crafted World with RDVvsTheWorld: Game is fun, soundtrack is terrible. I made sure someone on the couch would make weird noises and I even got to play a little bit.
  31.
  32. Portal 2 Single Player and Coop with Knipje and Firefox__: This was... an experience, positive. There was so much going on during the runs, and these boys are good at the game. I didn't contribute too much during SP. I was asked to talk about Crouchflight, but ehhhhh, idk. Coop I did speak a bit more, but my feeble brain couldn't come up with words in time. Still the effects of a small brain-bleeding in my speech center. Shout outs to YourEverydaySpeedrunner for being a silent co-comm :).
  33.
  34. Rayman 2 with RowanPlaysGames_: I am really happy for Rowan for the 2 minute PB, and the run was really comfy. Good atmosphere
  35.
  36. Heinki's Clustertruck run: I hardly contributed, at all. But I don't mind, Heinki is a wonderful performer by himself.
  37.
  38. OTHER
  39.
  40. On a final note, I wanted to squeeze Mort the Chicken in the marathon as a bonus run but alas.
  41.
  42. EVENT
  43. The event and the people were amazing. So much love from everyone, to everyone. Generally during my teaching or senior shifts, I would go to the fun room and hang out with people, playing in Thextera's Quick & Crash tournament, practice Kwirk, have meals with Tricrow, GSD, Sniperwave and some other peeps or go to the supermarket and totally do not run into people. Totally.
  44. I liked seeing how everyone became a cultist for Hotel-guy Michael and Barney the Dinosaur.
  45.
  46. One thing I would do better next year: Just fucking stay in the hotel next time. I was in an AirBNB next to the hotel, which was 50% cheaper. Or rather, I was supposed to. Instead, the Oak processionary invested the apartment and I was forced to get a different place to stay. Instead of the hotel, I chose for an AirBNB in a village next to Venray, a 15 minute drive, and I shared it with Someone. I totally didn't want anyone there that couldn't transport his own ass to the event except for Someone, but I definitely would say the hotel was more profitable for me, especially with over 30 scheduled hours in the stream room (thanks scheduling team). (jk I understand everything <3).
  47.
  48. Didn't say too much about the event unfortunately, because so much happened and most of it was great.
  49.
  50. Shout outs to the next people, and even more:
  51.
  52. Crrool, CptGMV, Frosty, Boxmeister: Thanks for doing so freaking much for BSG. While I mostly do my own tech-stuff with Box and Plumber (and Valyssa), you do the other stuff when I am not helping. Thank you!
  53.
  54. Boxmeister and Plumber: Thanks for being the daddies for BSG tech. Note for Plumber: We might have dropped you in the deep, but that's how you'll learn, and I really think you learned a lot about what we do. Don't ever think you were in the way buddy <3. @Box thanks for letting me crash in bed for the 24 hour shift
  55.
  56. Rezephos and Monimendezj: These fine folks made the new layouts and other graphical theming for BSG. I am happy I heard a lot of praise (and feedback) from other sides.
  57.
  58. Every volunteer: THANK YOU. I'm not naming all of you, but I do appreciate your help buddies!
  59.
  60. Relvoi, Distro, GreenSnowDog and Heinki: These 3 buddies from Germany and Luxembourg came from far, and haven't seen these buddies in over a year. I just appreciate buddies coming over. I'm defo rewatching the vods for Sploon and Halo when I get the chance. CTTT will definitely go on mute.
  61.
  62. Powderedmilk_: It was fun having you coming over for 2 days. We don't speak as much as before, but ye. I was bummed when you wanted to stay in the AirBNB, reconfirming me not wanting to have people that couldn't transport themselves. Fortunately Thex was there to save the day
  63.
  64. Thextera: We haven't spoken too much this event, but I appreciate you organizing a side-event, albeit coincidental. Quick & Crash was fun :D.
  65.
  66. RDV: Shout outs to McRonald! Crafted World was fun, sad you were tired for Ape 2 :x.
  67.
  68. Peck, soo many people...
  69.
  70. Speedhouse: Was fun seeing you memeboys again. Even though I didn't properly "hang" with you boys because of other stuff, I appreciated you boys and when can I join SpeedhouseTM #NLteam123
  71.
  72. Kinnin11: Never cease being amazing
  73.
  74. Sniperwave: I know now isn't the right moment to say, but take care of yourself, and take it easy. You definitely did a bit too much, and definitely get some rest.
  75.
  76. Tricrow & Tinytim: UKSG buddies! You guys are amazing, and never stop being amazing. Thanks for being such a positive vibe in the stream room.
  77.
  78. Rasschla: Making a video everyday, I knew you'd give up that quickly. But the 4 videos you did make, were amazing. Thanks!
  79.
  80. Rayman crew; We never made the picture :'(. Anyway, can't wait for the Rayman Marathon in November!
  81.
  82. WiredWicky: I know you were "just a volunteer", but thanks for not only being a cool lad, but also helping the event becoming much cooler. Helping around when extra hands/brains were needed, and the god-awful Captain Toad run and pokemon run ideas.
  83.
  84. BadRNG: Please come more often. Even though most people dislike you as a term, I liked having you on the couch.
  85.
  86. Shuri: I hope BSG Annual 2019 did help with the news you read that week. Stay amazing dude <3.
  87.
  88. Jelster64: I liked the reset meme. You know how to not let bad things happening to you get the better of you, and while the run wasn't up to your standards, twitch chat loved it :).
  89.
  90. Xita: Insert muscles emoji here
  91.
  92. Obviously everyone involved I didn't name: Thanks for being positive!
  93.
  94. Other people who greatly contributed: The pokemon lads (araya, jimb, hammer, wartab, flutz, dolany). Yume and Esch! Kiara and Janglestorm, Cucco! Linkameister; you were so different than I would have imagined you'd be in a good way! Siver mijn favoriete nederlandse vriend! Grump! Alaeus! I'm totally not looking at the schedule for names.
  95.
  96. Peace out.
