  1. Steve is a janitor, but wishes to work for a tech company to design video games. One day, Steve is approached by a talent acquisition agent for Fazbear Entertainment named Brock. Having seen Steve's previous games, Brock offers him a job in creating four horror games for Fazbear Entertainment; the games would be based on accusations on the company as a way for them to rebrand and move on from them. Brock adds that Steve would be moved to a more spacious and luxurious home with personal servants to do his chores as an added bonus for his work, and also to prevent the game from being leaked. While Steve is excited about getting out of his dead-end job at the gas station, he rejects the offer as he is morally conflicted in creating games based off events that were most likely real.

  3. The next day, he receives a message from his dating app from an extremely beautiful woman named Victoria. She asks Steve to visit her house for a first date. He is surprised to find that the house is empty, and he hears a loud, high-pitched ringing coming from the smoke alarm despite not smelling any smoke. He reaches out to turn off the smoke alarm and passes out.
  4.
  5. He wakes up in the same house, but now the house is filled with furniture and pictures of Victoria. She says that they have been together for a while and have two children, Abigail and Avery. She encourages Steve to live in the moment and not worry about remembering the past. Due to a bad financial situation, Steve is looking for a better job. Brock appears and tells him his offer is still open, and Steve agrees to the deal. Fazbear Entertainment allows him to work at home.

  7. Steve finds himself haunted by visions and night terrors, but focuses on working on the games. He hears noises inside the walls, and the walls pulsate, occassionally releasing creatures that attack Steve. However, when he calls for Victoria, they disappear. Heavy snow forces Steve to stay in the house, which drives him crazy as he hears a high-pitched ringing in his head that keeps getting louder. He realizes that the ringing only stops when he works on the games.
  8.
  9. After finishing three games, Steve is tired. On the radio he tries to change the station from "DJ Dan, the music man", but Victoria tells him not to change the station. He tries anyway but only gets static. He attempts to leave the house, but the ringing in his head only gets louder the closer he reaches the door. He thinks it's the fire alarm and breaks it in a rage.
  10.
  11. The ringing had stopped, and Steve can hear now the sounds of gears grinding and wheels turning. The house looks different too, with tread marks across the floor, and trapdoors in the ceilings and walls, which he believes is where the creatures came out from. Steve hides in a closet and sees that Victoria and his children are actually animatronics. He tries to escape the house, but they corner him so he locks himself in the bedroom.
  12.
  13. DJ Dan plays on the radio, telling him that he is powerless and they he can't hide forever. He reminds him of how sad and lonely his previous life was, and that he was happy with Victoria and his children. Steve rebuts that they weren't real and that he had night terrors, but DJ Dan says they were only inspiration and that if he presses a button on the radio, he will let Steve create his own reality as he wants it to be. He presses the button, causing a loud ringing and for him to fall to the floor.

  15. Steve wakes up with Victoria in the doorway and goes up to hug her. He feels a happy bliss, before Victoria stabs him through the heart.
