  1. so even so much as a weird interface/battle tutorial (including prelude cutscenes and w/e) stuff where it's actually referring to "you" as in garamonde himself, not the "player" like this

  3. "You venture through this seemingly empty valley, when suddenly...!"
  4. "The bushes in front of you are shaking. What will you do?"
  5. [o] Get closer
  6. [] Run away
  7. [] Wait

  9. "You decided to get closer to the bushes to see what's in them. But then...!"
  10. "Two hostile creatures jump out of the bushes as you approach!"

  12. Enemy 1: Hey, who are you supposed to be?
  13. Enemy 2: Yeah, are you lost? Or are you supposed to be some kind of hero that's gonna try to get past us?

  15. Garamonde:
  16. [] I'm just a lost traveler...
  17. [] Hero...? Are you the bad guys or something?
  18. [o] Um... Can you tell me where I am?
  19.  
  20. Enemy 1: Hey! We asked you questions first! Who are you and are you gonna try to get in our way?!
  21. Enemy 2: Something tells me this guy's gonna be trouble!

  23. Garamonde:
  24. [o] If you're up to no good, then yes, I'm going to try to stop you.
  25. [] I just want to know what's going on...
  26. [] N-No... I don't have any intentions of interfering with whatever it is you're doing...

  28. Enemy 1: Oh yeah?
  29. Enemy 2: Thought so!
  30. Enemy 1: We'd like to see you try to take on both of us!

  32. "The hostile creatures are attacking you! What will you do?"
  33. [] Fight
  34. [] Run away
  35. [] Do nothing

  37. Garamonde: *sees options and looks puzzled, ignoring the choices* Um... How would doing nothing help me here?

  39. Enemy 1: Oh, trust me, that would be the BEST thing for you to do.
  40. Enemy 2: Other than, you know, just running away.
  41. Enemy 1: So what'll it be, fancypants? Are you gonna try to play hero or will you be smart and do what's good for you?
  42. Enemy 2: Yeah, we're pretty nice guys. At least compared to, you know, our buddies further down here. So we're giving you one more chance to mind your own business. Choose wisely, pal!

  44. *Garamonde hears a voice in his head, pointing out his measly 10 health vs. both his enemies' 50 health*
  45. "Sometimes, the bravest thing a hero can do is to simply run away when they are clearly outmatched."
  46. Garamonde: Wh... Huh...? Who said that?

  48. *both enemies look around*
  49. Enemy 1: ...What?
  50. Enemy 2: Uh, dude, are you nuts?

  52. Garamonde: No... I just heard a voice talking to me, saying I should run away.
  53.  
  54. *both enemies look at eachother*
  55. Enemy 1: Yup, this guy's crazy.
  56. Enemy 2: Yeah, you're a weirdo. But at least you've got the right idea. Take your weirdness somewhere else before we decide to beat some sense into you!

  58. "The hostile creatures are giving you another chance to escape. What will you do?"
  59. [o] Try to fight anyway
  60. [] Run away
  61. [] Sit still

  63. Enemy 1: Really? As weak as you are? You really aren't very smart, are you?
  64. Enemy 2: Either that or he's completely lost his marbles. Or both.
  65. Enemy 1: Oh well, doesn't matter. Let's get him!

  67. "FIGHT! Enemy attacks first!"

  69. "Enemy 1 attacks you! You took 4 damage!"

  71. *voice clip* Garamonde: Oof!
  72. Enemy 1: Heh! How did that feel?

  74. "Enemy 2 attacks you! You took 5 damage!"

  76. *voice clip* Garamonde: Ow!!!
  77. Enemy 2: Yeah! Take that!!!
  78. *Garamonde is at 1 health*

  80. Enemy 2: We got him on the ropes, bro!
  81. Enemy 1: You don't look so good, buddy. Are you SURE you don't wanna run away and save yourself a humiliating and painful defeat?

  83. "Your enemies are sparing you one last time. What will you do?"
  84. [] Keep trying to fight
  85. [o] Run away

  87. Enemy 1: That's right! Now you get it!
  88. Enemy 2: And don't come back, or we won't be so nice to you next time!

  90. *this scene could take any direction but this version specifically is probably a more likely one to occur, once the player realizes they can't win this forced fight and don't want to risk getting a game over. the story will progress similarly at some point regardless of outcome, but with changes corresponding to the choices made before and during the fight*
