  1. Dearest Dwarven Damsel,
  2. I want to apologize for how long it has taken for me to correspond. My life in this corner of the world has been in many ways as busy and as hectic as where you are, and though I have read your many letters to me (quite fondly, even), I have had no spare time to return the favor. Just know that, as much as I wouldn't have expected it when we first met so long ago, I do look forward to hearing from you and appreciate every scrap of communication you have sent to me so consistently.
  3.
  4. My side of the world- what you like to call "home"- has been bleak as of late, but there have been many silver linings for me to latch onto in spite of the overwhelming darkness. People are finally starting to see clearly. Truths are revealing themselves to the world one person at a time, like flowering prostitutes. Knowledge is spreading. Outrage is growing. Righteous fury is in everyone's eye.
  5.
  6. It is good. I like it. For the first time in years, I actually feel something for humanity.
  7.
  8. But it all feels so hollow.
  9.
  10. Despite all of these well-earned and well-deserved awakenings throughout our once feeble town, I still find myself without anyone who speaks to me on the same level as you. In these long months spent on my own once more, I've come to realize that I've developed a strong relationship with you without ever realizing it, and that your absence has left a void in my life that I am certain was nonexistent prior to our first meeting. It's all too ironic that you mentioned my special hourglass in your third most recent letter; I watched those sands fall one night, and each one hammered home just how much more quickly my days would pass with you by my side.
  11.
  12. I await your return, Ginger Girl. Stay alive up there on that metaphorical mountain of yours. I want to see you again.
  13. Sincerely,
  14. Jan
  15.
  16. P.S.: Don't mind the person who brought this to you. He's an oddball, but I've found that he's relatively harmless and always means well. He's also strangely good at locating people. I'm sure this letter would never find you otherwise.
