- +cabadejo __ It's all about "perception and expectation management". He has a SUPER AWESOME photo of the alleged "ISS". And any budding astronomer will want to take the same kind of photo.
- But they take one look at his telescope and think _"what I have won't be able to do it"._
- And if they realise it was taken with some other telescope they will see "4,700 images" of which 30 were selected (why did he use such a crappy webcam? Imagine how much better if he had instead used an HD camera!).
- That sure sounds like a lot of hard work for such a crappy overall image!
- By claiming to have made a composite out of THIRTY images if he is asked to prove his claim he can show us 30 blurry white images and say that he "pieced it all together".
- The expectation "they" are trying to manage is that when you look through a telescope you won't actually SEE the "ISS" in all of its glory. You'll just see a "bright flash".
- The "ISS" apparently can be seen for a few seconds to a few minutes at a time.
- It would be beyond the ability of most people to be able to track it and photograph it successfully (even as a bright flash).
- People give up and content themselves with that the "professionals" have done.
- Those who stick at will find they just can't manage to take a photo with any details.
- Meanwhile "astronomy magazines" complain about the flood of "ISS" photos being sent in. And so what is the point of trying to take a photo?
- It's hard work. You have only a brief window of opportunity. And if you cannot do something better than what has already (allegedly) been done then no one will be interested.
