Reasoning: The final stand against Zero is made with a collective force of High Hop city. The group split off into waves in order to fight the tyrannical being known as Zero - though many were crushed in the aftermath, leaving those individuals battered, or otherwise mortally wounded. Mori confronts the very being who was responsible for the deaths of his comrades and friends, the individual who orchestrated the entirety of this war. Even so, within a blink of an eye, he is defeated and left bleeding out in the sand, left in a nigh-mortally wounded fashion. Unable to land even a single blow upon the focus of his pent-up anger and resentment, he's tossed aside as if he was trash.

 Many of his friends were brutally broken by Zero in the sequential battles, and Mori was forced to look onward as they laid crippled along the ground until he too, wound up in the same position. The stress and trauma of being left in a near-death state without so much as any resistance left Mori spiritually broken, as the amount of hardships and tribulations that had taken him this far had evidently amounted to nothing. Choking on his own blood, he attempts to cling to his life  despite the burden of weakness planted upon him as it became known to him that his city was moments away from being nuked, as well.

 Overall, he's acquired plenty of trauma and stress from the whole ordeal, and being nearly killed in a single blow is enough to shake even him. Among his comrades, he stands among the lower tier of fighters, barely effective as a support in the grand scheme of things.
