- • Ado begins the match without a color on her brush. Use shield special to set her brush to either red, blue, or yellow
- • Having color on your brush extends the reach of certain normals, changes the properties of your smash attacks, and, most importantly, determines the behavior of monsters summoned with her specials
- • When you select a color, a meter appears near your damage counter to represent how much of that color paint you have left. The meter is 20 units; using a normal brush attack drains 1 unit, smash attacks drain 10 units, and summons drain 20. There is no penalty for using an attack that costs more than your remaining meter. When the meter is empty, Ado's brush automatically becomes colorless
- • Paint regenerates at a rate of 2 units per second as long as you're not actively using that color, meaning it takes 10 seconds for a completely drained color to come back. If you completely drain a color, you'll have to wait to full 10 seconds to use it again, but if you switch off it beforehand you can switch back freely

- ADELEINE & RIBBON (Kirby)
- - Ribbon consistently floats near Adeleine instead of just appearing for flight and attacks like in Star Allies. When Adeleine performs an action that requires Ribbon's help, she quickly flies into position to do it. Ribbon can't actually be hit or interacted with by opponents at all
- - shield special: brings up a color wheel with options for red, blue, and yellow around Adeleine. selection controls are similar to the Monado Arts wheel. picking a color sets Adeleine's brush to it, which changes the behaviors of helpers summoned with neutral, side, and down specials. also changes the properties of her smash attacks?
- when Adeleine's brush is not set to a specific color, it's just the usual rainbow tip, and painted summons have their default color schemes. red summons are more aggressive than usual, blue summons are more defensive, and yellow summons have oddball effects. regular summons are the "basic" versions of the helpers with more balanced effects
- - uspec: fairy flight (Ribbon gives Adeleine a lift. Similar to Duck Hunt's up special.)
- - jab: panic paint (Adeleine's "signature move," the haphazard barrage of swings she does when all her paintings are taken out in KDL3/K64. weak, but fitting enough, actually a decent panic button; comes out fast and has deceptively long range due to paint flying off of Ado's brush)
- - ftilt: crystal shot (Ribbon fires a shard from the crystal shard gun. the shard flies somewhat slowly, but it has great range for a tilt and the attack itself has little lag on either end. only one shard can be out at a time)
- - usmash: paint out (explosion of paint from the tip of Ado's brush while she holds it above her, like Paint Kirby's attack)
- - dsmash: color splash (dumps a bucket of paint in front of Ado. large range, but somewhat slow to come out. leaves paint on the floor that has different effects based on the color)
- - utilt: rainbow arc
- - nair: fairy dance (little twirl with Ribbon. it's cute)
- Much like her boss battles in Kirby's Dream Land 3 and Kirby 64, Adeleine herself isn't terribly formidable, relying on her painted summons to do most of the work for her. Though her melee game is lacking, fortunately she's not nearly as pitiful as she was when she attempted to fight on her own in those games.

- - Shield Special: Color Change (switch brush color to either red, blue, or yellow. active color changes the behaviors of Ado's neutral, side, and down special summons. no color summons are balanced, red summons are more aggressive, blue summons are more supportive/defensive, and yellow summons have odd behavior. maybe also have minor
- ADELEINE & RIBBON (Kirby)
- - shieldspec: Color Change (Holds her brush up into the air as a color wheel-esque menu appears around her. The wheel consists of five colors: red, blue, cyan, yellow, and green. Controls are very similar to Shulk's Monado Arts wheel. Once you've made a selection, the tip of Adeleine's brush turns that color. With paint on her brush, any attacks involving it get a bit more range and power. More importantly, Adeleine's neutral, side, and down specials all have different behaviors depending on what color she is using. After selecting a color, a small meter separated into four segments appears near Adeleine's UI. This Paint Meter tracks how many times Adeleine can use her special moves before her paint is depleted. When a color has been depleted, it cannot be chosen from the wheel for ?? seconds.
- By using Shield Special again and choosing a second color, a Color Combo can be created. It's not really like mixing colors as you would expect, i.e. red and blue making purple, you'll just be using both color attacks simultaneously. Color Combo attack are, naturally, more potent than usual, but they have the drawback of taking more paint from the Paint Meter and triggering cooldown on two colors at once when used.)
- - nspec: Color Splash (Projectile attack. Properties of the projectile change drastically depending on what color Adeleine uses. Frame data is consistent. Depletes one segment of the Paint Meter.)
- - sspec: Color Dash (An attack involving movement in some fashion. Properties change drastically depending on what color Adeleine uses. Depletes one segment of the Paint Meter.)
- - dspec: Color Summon (Paints an enemy from the Kirby series to act as a temporary AI-controlled ally, like a watered-down Assist Trophy. What Adeleiene paints depends on what color she uses. Depletes the entire Paint Meter. The duration of the summon is based on how much of the meter was left when the move was used. An enemy summoned with all four segments will last much longer than one summoned with only one segment left.)
