Zuhl: Prince Heinel, we have received a secret telegram from His Majesty, the Emperor.

ハイネル
「皇帝陛下から? で、何と?」
Heinel: From the Emperor? What does it say?

ズール
「ボルテスV打倒の鍵は、日本伊豆半島…
天城山中のファルコン秘密研究所にあり、と」
Zuhl: It says that the key to defeating Voltes V lies in Japan’s Izu Peninsula... Within the secret Falcon Laboratory at Mount Amagi.

ハイネル
「ボルテスV打倒の鍵…
何故に皇帝陛下がそのようなことを
ご存知なのだ?」
Heinel: The key to defeating Voltes V... But how could His Highness know such a thing?

ズール
「電文によりますと、ボルテスVの開発者である
剛健太郎がボアザン本星に囚われており、
彼奴から聞き出したそうです」
Zuhl: According to the telegram, he obtained the information from Kentaro Go, the creator of Voltes V, who is held captive on Planet Boazan.

ハイネル
「ボルテスを作り出した男が、
皇帝陛下の手の内に…!?
いつの間にそのようなことが?」
Heinel: The man who created Voltes is within His Highness’s custody...!? How long has this been so?

ズール
「詳細はわかりかねます」
Zuhl: That I do not know, my lord.

ハイネル
「………」
Heinel: ...

ズール
「どうなさいますか?」
Zuhl: What shall we do?

ハイネル
「余自らその研究所を調べる。
皇帝陛下からのありがたき情報とは言え、
いささか気になることがあるのでな」
Heinel: I will investigate this laboratory personally. While I am grateful to the Emperor for gifting us with this information, I cannot help but feel something is a foul.

「…ははっ」
Zuhl: ...Of course, my lord.

「岡、試作機の搬出は終わった。
後はデータだけ…吸い出しは5分で終わる」
Dr. Hamaguchi: I’ve finished taking out the prototype, Oka. All that remains is the data... The download should be completed in 5 minutes.

岡長官
「うむ。
それにしても、懐かしい…私達の[ボアザン星]対策の
研究が始められた所だからな」
Chief Oka: Very good. However, I must say... I have a sense of nostalgia, coming back to the place where we began crafting our countermeasures against [Planet Boazan].

浜口博士
「[一年戦争]の後だったな、剛博士と出会ったのは…」
Dr. Hamaguchi: It was after the [One Year War] that we met Dr. Go...

岡長官
「ああ、たった4人だったな。
剛博士、奥さんの光代博士…」
Chief Oka: Yes, back when there was only the four of us. Dr. Go, along with his wife, Dr. Mitsuyo...

浜口博士
「それに、ワシとあんた。
来たるべき地球の危機にいかに立ち向かうか、
必死になったものだ」
Dr. Hamaguchi: And the both of us as well. We were desperate to find a way to fight against the danger that would come to Earth.

岡長官
「それも、剛博士がいたからこそ
出来たことだった」
Chief Oka: And it was only because of Dr. Go that it was possible to do so.

浜口博士
「うむ。その最初の芽が
今やビッグファルコンになり、
ボルテスV になって、地球を守るまでになった」
Dr. Hamaguchi: Yes. What we started then has given rise to the Big Falcon, and Voltes V, which protect the Earth today.

岡長官
「しかし、剛博士は行方知れず、
光代博士も亡くなってしまった…」
Chief Oka: But now, Dr. Go is nowhere to be found, and Dr. Mitsuyo has passed away...

Dr. Hamaguchi: ...

岡長官
「なあ、浜口。
剛博士は生きているのだろうか?」
Chief Oka: Say, Hamaguchi... Do you believe Dr. Go is still alive?

「わからんが、
今はウルトラマグコンの制御方法を
見つけ出すことの方が大事だ」
Dr. Hamaguchi: I don’t know. What’s important now is discovering a means to use the Ultra Magcon.

「わかっておる」
Chief Oka: You’re right.

(A machine drills up from the ground nearby.)

「!」
Dr. Hamaguchi: !

岡長官
「侵入者だ!」
Chief Oka: An intruder!

浜口博士
「むうっ!?」
Dr. Hamaguchi: Wha—!?

岡長官
「ドリル型メカ!?
地中を掘って来たのか!?」
Chief Oka: A drill type mecha!? It dug a hole through the ground!

ハイネル
「動くな、その二人!
みだりに手向かえば、生命はない!」
Heinel: Both of you, halt! Make one unnecessary movement and your lives are forfeit!

浜口博士
「プリンス・ハイネル!」
Dr. Hamaguchi: Prince Heinel!

ハイネル
「余を知っておるのか。何者だ?」
Heinel: You know of me. Who are you?

岡長官
「地球連邦軍極東方面軍司令、岡だ」
Chief Oka: Oka, Commander of the Earth Federation’s Far Eastern Forces.

浜口博士
「ビッグファルコンの責任者、浜口だ」
Dr. Hamaguchi: I am the supervisor of the Big Falcon, Hamaguchi.

ハイネル
「ハーッハハハハハ!
面白い、実に面白いぞ! 地球の運命を握る者同士、
このようにして顔を合わせるとはな!」
Heinel: Mwahahahaha! How entertaining, yes, quite entertaining! To see the men who burden the Earth’s fate in such a sorry state!

「何故だ!?
何故、お前がこの研究所の所在を知っている!?」
Dr. Hamaguchi: But how!? How did you know about this laboratory!?

ハイネル
「ボルテスVの開発者、剛健太郎からの情報だ」
Heinel: It was told to us by the creator of Voltes V, Kentaro Go.

浜口博士
「ご、剛!? 剛と言ったのか!?」
Dr. Hamaguchi: G-Go!? Did you say it was from Go!?

岡長官
「ば、馬鹿な!」
Chief Oka: Th-That’s absurd!

ハイネル
「ボアザン星に囚われの身になっている剛から
聞いたとて、何の不思議がある?
ハーッハハハハハ!」
Heinel: What is absurd about extracting information from a Boazanian prisoner? Mwahahahaha!

浜口博士
「い、生きているのか!?
剛博士が!?」
Dr. Hamaguchi: Th-Then he’s alive!? Dr. Go lives!?

ハイネル
「それ故に、余がここにいる」
Heinel: I would not be here otherwise.

岡長官
「しかし何故、剛博士がボアザン星に…!?」
Chief Oka: But how did Boazan capture him...!?

ハイネル
「貴様らを捕らえてしまえば、ここの秘密などいらん!
ボルテスV も我が軍門に降ることになる!」
Heinel: It doesn’t matter. Once I capture you, I’ll have no need of any secrets here! Then, Voltes V will fall to my forces!

岡長官
「やらせん!
甲賀流手裏剣、受けてみよ!」
Chief Oka: Not if I have anything to say about it! Eat my Koga-ryu Shurikens!

(Oka throws shurikens at Heinel.)

ハイネル
「ぬうっ!? 面妖な武器を!」
Heinel: Ngh!? What manner of weapon is this!?

浜口博士
「岡! 起爆スイッチだ!」
Dr. Hamaguchi: Oka! Flip the detonation switch!

岡長官
「おう!」
Chief Oka: Right!

ハイネル
「おのれ、ここの秘密もろとも自爆する気か!」
Hienel: You peasants would destroy yourselves along with your secrets!?

岡長官
「浜口、こっちの非常出口へ!」
Chief Oka: Hamaguchi, the emergency exit is this way!

浜口博士
「わかった!」
Dr. Hamaguchi: Right!

(Oka and Hamaguchi escape.)

ハイネル
(ええい、逃がしたか…!
だが、ここが消し飛ぶのであれば、
我らにとって好都合…)
Heinel: (Blast, they’ve escaped...! Although, having this place destroyed is not en entirely unfavorable outcome...)

ハイネル
(確かめたいことがあったが、やむを得ん。
すぐさまボルテスV との決着を付けてくれる…!)
Heinel: (I would have liked to investigate, but there’s nothing to be done now. I will have to settle things with Voltes V myself...!)


(Scene changes to a forest. An explosion is heard as the laboratory is turned to smithereens.)


岡長官
「研究所…!」
Chief Oka: The laboratory...!

浜口博士
「残念だが、
あそこの秘密を敵に知られるよりはいい。
試作機を運び出せたのが不幸中の幸いだった」
Dr. Hamaguchi: Losing it regrettable, but it’s better than allowing the enemy to learn of the secrets hidden there. We should just be happy to have gotten out with the prototype.

岡長官
「しかし、剛博士がボアザン星で
囚われの身になっているとは…」
Chief Oka: But to think Dr. Go was being held prisoner by the Boazanians...

浜口博士
「あれほどの人物が我々を裏切るとは思えん。
強制的に自白させられたか…」
Dr. Hamaguchi: I can’t believe that a man of his caliber would ever betray us. He must have been forced to confess...

岡長官
「だとしても、
このことは剛兄弟には言わん方が良かろう」
Chief Oka: Either way, I believe it would be best if we didn’t tell the Go brothers about this.

浜口博士
「同感だ。
事実かどうかもはっきりさせねばならん」
Dr. Hamaguchi: I agree. We must first find out the truth for certain before we say anything.

「凄いな、この艦の
ホログラフィックカモフラージュは。
電磁波全てを透過するとはな」
Hyuuma: This ship’s holographic camouflage is something else. It can even completely penetrate electromagnetic waves.

シマ
「我々はペルシダーモードと呼んでいます」
Shima: We refer to it as Pellucidar Mode.

キョウ
「ドリルは付いてねえけどな」
Kyo: It doesn’t come with a drill though.

伊奈帆
「ドリルが付いているのは鉄モグラだよ。
ペルシダーは地底世界の名前」
Inaho: It’s the iron mole that has the drill. Pellucidar is the name of the subterranean world.

キョウ
「さすがは伊奈帆、いいツッコミだ。
ただ、そういう名前の地底戦車も…」
Kyo: You’ve got the straight man routine down pat, Inaho. Although, a subterranean tank with a name like that would also be—

ユキ
「何の話?」
Yuki: What are you talking about?

火麻
「ドリルガオーのことか?」
Hyuuma: You mean the Drill Gao?

キョウ
「ああ、内輪の話。気にしないでくれ」
Kyo: Ah, it’s sort of an inside joke. Don’t worry about it.

韻子
「伊奈帆とキョウって、
この前から急に仲良くなったよね」
Inko: You and Inaho really became fast friends just before this, huh?

キョウ
「こういう話に付き合える仲間は貴重ってこと」
Kyo: It’s just nice to have someone to talk about these kinds of things with.

キョウ
「それにしても、キラ達の世界じゃ、
似たようなステルスでミラージュコロイドってのが
あるらしいし、考えることは同じなんだな」
Kyo: Back on topic, I seem to recall there being a stealth system called the Mirage Colloid in Kira’s world. I’m guessing they had the same idea as we did.

「大半が戦いのために発展した
技術というのが悲しいけどね」
Banjo: It’s just unfortunate that most of this technology is developed with combat in mind.

火麻
「まったくだ」
Hyuuma: Gotta agree there.

凱
「参謀、護を連れて来た」
Guy: I’ve brought Mamoru with me, Staff Officer.

護
「うわっはあ! 凄いね、この艦!」
Mamoru: Whoa-ho! This ship is super cool!

火麻
「俺と同じ反応だな。
で、どうだ? [ゾンダー]の気配は?」
Hyuuma: I know what you mean. So, feel like there’s any [Zonders] around?

護
「苫小牧だよね?
さすがにあんなに遠いと、感じ方もすっごく弱いよ」
Mamoru: You mean in Tomakomai, right? It’s kind of far, but I do feel something weak from there.

火麻
「そうか。
護はちょっと前まで北海道に住んでたんだったな」
Hyuuma: I see. It wasn’t that long ago you lived in Hokkaido, was it, Mamoru?

(…無事でいてくれよ、父さん…スワン…)
Guy: (...Father...Swan... Please be safe...)

火麻
「さて、全員揃った所で今回の作戦を説明する。
粒子加速装置イゾルデには、東西南北4つの門がある」
Hyuuma: Alright, now that we’re all here, I’ll explain the mission. There are 4 gates leading to the Isolde Particle Accelerator Facility, from the north, east, south, and west.

火麻
「犯人に気付かれぬようそれぞれの門から侵入し、
内部に囚われているであろう博士達を助け出す」
Hyuuma: We’re going to sneak in through these gates while trying not to attract the attention of the criminals and rescue the doctor and Miss Swan, who we believe to be captured there.

万丈
「そうなると、使える機体は限られますね」
Banjo: Then that will limit the machines we can use.

火麻
「北は凱、南はボルフォッグ、東は氷竜と炎竜、
西は界塚ユキ准尉達のカタフラクトに頼む」
Hyuuma: Guy will enter through the north, Volfogg through the south, HyoRyu and EnRyu to the east, and the west will be left up to Warrant Officer Yuki Kaizuka and her team’s Kataphraktos.

ユキ
「了解です」
Yuki: Understood.

火麻
「本命は凱の北門だ。
他の門では敵の注意を引くだけでいい」
Hyuuma: What we’re really placing our money on is Guy at the north gate. Everyone at the other gates just need to draw the enemy’s attention.

凱
「任せてくれ」
Guy: Leave it to me.

火麻
「まもなく現着だ。総員準備にかかれ!」
Hyuuma: We’ll be there soon. All hands, prepare for the operation!

『イゾルデの門』
Episode 48
The Gates of Isolde


(Scene begins on the map screen of the Isolde Particle Accelerator Facility. The Oceanus is on the map.)

(The Isolde Particle Accelerator Facility is basically built into the ground, with little of the facility on the surface, so the map is mostly forest. You can’t really tell looking at the map screen, but most of the following scene takes place underground. It’s in Episode 11 of GaoGaiGar if you want to look it up.)

ミナト
「各機、所定の位置につきました」
Minato:  All units are in position.

シマ
「まだ相手に気付かれていないようだな」
Shima: Our opponent still seems unaware.

火麻
「護、ゾンダーを感じるか?」
Hyuuma: Do you feel any Zonders, Mamoru?

護
「うん。でも、何だかよくわからない…。
いつもと違う感じがする」
Mamoru: Yeah. But, something’s off... It feels different this time.

火麻
「移動する気配は?」
Hyuuma: Any signs of movement?

護
「今のところ、ないみたいだけど」
Mamoru: Not right now, I don’t think.

凱
「こちら凱。イゾルデ北ゲート前。
参謀、帯電した空気がイオン化しているようだ。
北スロープ一帯、オゾン臭がする」
Guy: This is Guy. I’m in front of Isolde’s north gate. Staff Officer, the electricity in the air appears to be ionizing. The entire north slope reeks of ozone.

火麻
「粒子加速用の電磁場が暴走しているんだ。
おそらく、突入後は交信が不可能になるだろう」
Hyuuma: Looks like the particle accelerator has gone out of control. We probably won’t be able to communicate once you go inside.

火麻
「各機は予定通り、それぞれのゲートより、
敵の気を引いてくれ。突入開始!」
Hyuuma: All units, proceed with the plan and distract the enemy at the gates. Commence infiltration!

凱
「了か…」
Guy: Rog—

火麻
「ちっ!
もう通信が切れやがった!」
Hyuuma: Tch! The line’s already been cut!

(Swan and Leo are towards the center of the map.)

スワン
「うう…」
Swan: Uuuh...

スワン
「はっ!?ここは!?
う、動けまセン!」
Swan: Ah!? Where am I!? I-I can’t move!

麗雄
「気が付いたかね?」
Leo: Woken up, have you?

スワン
「博士!? ここはいったい…!?」
Swan: Doctor!? Where on Earth are we...!?

麗雄
「どうやらイゾルデの中心部のようだが…
ゾンダー化されておる。
我々は囚われてしまったようだ」
Leo: It appears to be the center of Isolde... In the middle of being Zonderized. Apparently, we’ve been captured.

スワン
「そんな…」
Swan: Oh no...

麗雄
「心配はいらん。
凱達がきっと助けに来てくれる」
Leo: Don’t fret. Guy and the others will surely come to rescue us.

(At the West Gate.)

ユキ
「何、この中…?」
Yuki: What’s with this place...?

伊奈帆
「機械と生物が融合しているように見える。
[GGG]からもらったデータを鑑みて、
犯人はゾンダーで間違いないようだ」
Inaho: Metal and organic matter look to be combining here. Based on the data provided by [GGG], this is certainly the work of Zonders.

ユキ
「じゃあ、獅子王博士達は…」
Yuki: But then Dr. Shishioh and Miss Swan...

韻子
「伊奈帆! あれ!」
Inko: Inaho! Over there!

プリマーダ
「ふふ…。
あら、侵入者は不細工な玩具だったのねえ…」
Primarda: Hmhm... Well well, so the intruders were nothing more than clumsy looking toys...

伊奈帆
「あれがゾンダー…」
Inaho: So that’s a Zonder...

プリマーダ
「でも、その無骨な外見、嫌いじゃないわよ」
Primarda: Then again, I don’t necessarily hate a rugged look.

ユキ
「何なの、あいつ!」
Yuki: What’s with her!?

プリマーダ
「さあ、おいでなさい。
あなた達を待つ地底の地獄へ…」
Primarda: Now, come along then. To the hell that awaits you...

ユキ
「逃げた!?
追うわよ、ナオ君!」
Yuki: She’s running!? Nao, we’re going after her!

(At the East Gate.)

ポロネズ
「よくおいでくださいました。
ふふふ…」
Polonaise: How kind of you to drop in. Hmhmhm...

氷竜
「生体反応、電磁反応が等分に検出されている。
お前は生物なのか?それとも、ロボット…」
HyoRyu: I’m detecting both organic and electrical readings from him equally. Are you some kind of life-form? Or are you a robot...?

ポロネズ
「ふふ…そのどちらでもありません。
高度な生機融合体とでもいうところですかねえ」
Polonaise: Hmhm... I am neither one nor the other, good sir. Perhaps it would be best to call me a sophisticated human-machine hybrid.

ポロネズ
「いずれにしても地球人の作ったガラクタなどに
私を解析することは不可能でしょう」
Polonaise: Not that it really matters, since the ability to analyze me is well beyond a worthless piece of manmade junk like yourself.

「おのれ、言わせておけば!」
EnRyu: We’ll make you eat those words!

(At the North Gate.)

ピッツァ
「よく来たな、サイボーグ」
Pizza: Good of you to come, cyborg.

凱
「こいつは人間じゃあない! お前はゾンダーか!?
いや、宇宙人…ゾンダリアン!」
Guy: You aren’t human! So does that make you a Zonder!? Or an alien...? No, a Zonderian!

ピッツァ
「いかにも…。
機界四天王の一人、ピッツァと覚えていただこう。
この地は我らの物となった! 侵入者は抹殺する!」
Pizza: Indeed... I am one of the Four Machine Kings, but you may call me Pizza if you like. However, I believe this place belongs to us now! And all intruders must be eliminated!

「させるかっ!!
ウィル・ナイフッ!!」
Guy: I’d like to see you try!! Will Knife!!

ピッツァ
「どうした、サイボーグ! お前の力はそんなものか!
あの黒いロボットに融合しなければ、
何も出来ないようだな!」
Pizza: What’s wrong, cyborg!? Surely that’s not the best you can do! It seems you’re quite powerless if you can’t fuse yourself with that black robot!

凱
「ガオガイガーにならなくても、
貴様一人くらい!」
Guy: I don’t need the help of GaoGaiGar! I’ll take you out myself!

(Smack.)

ピッツァ
「くっ…やるな、サイボーグ!」
Pizza: Ugh... Not bad, cyborg!

凱
「待てっ!」
Guy: Get back here!

(At the South Gate.)

「ウリリリリリィイイィ!」
Pinchernone: WRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!

ペンチノン
「このゾンダーメタルプラントが完成すれば、
あの不可解な紛い物ゾンダーなど利用せずとも
この星のゾンダー化は容易い」
Pinchernone: Once the Zonder Metal Plant is complete, we can easily Zonderize the entire planet without needing to use those absurd imitation Zonders!

「ウリリリリリィイイィ!」
Pinchernone: WRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!

ボルフォッグ
「させません!」
Volfogg: I will not allow that!

(Volfogg attacks.)

「ギアアアッ!?
貴様は…紫のロボット…!」
Pinchernone: Gyaaa!? You’re...that purple robot...!

ボルフォッグ
「さあ、覚悟してもらいますよ」
Volfogg: Now, prepare to meet your end.

ペンチノン
「お、おのれ…!」
Pinchernone: Y-You little...!

(Pinchernone runs away.)

ボルフォッグ
「逃げられましたか…。
さて、博士達は…」
Volfogg: He fled... In that case, I should find the Doctor and Miss Swan...

(At the center of the Isolde Particle Accelerator Facility.)

「何てこった!
制御センターがゾンダーになっちまってる!」
Guy: I don’t believe it! The entire command center’s been Zonderized!

炎竜
「隊長一っ!」
EnRyu: Commander!

氷竜
「ご無事でしたか、隊長殿」
HyoRyu: Thank goodness you’re safe, Commander.

凱
「ああ! 氷竜と炎竜も!」
Guy: Ah! HyoRyu, and EnRyu too!

ユキ
「あ、あれ? 敵を追ってたはずなのに…
凱達だけ? 敵は?」
Yuki: Wh-What the...? We were supposed to be chasing the enemy... Why are Guy and the others here? Where’d she go?

凱
「界塚准尉!」
Guy: Warrant Officer Kaizuka!

氷竜
「これは…もしかすると…」
HyoRyu: Now that I think about it...could it be that...?

伊奈帆
「うん、誘い込まれたみたいだ」
Inaho: Yes, we were likely being lured here.

凱
「まさか!?」
Guy: Don’t tell me...!

(The GGG members keel over in pain from electromagnetic waves.)

凱
「うわあああっ!!」
Guy: Uwaaaah!!

(強力な電磁波だ。僕達のカットは
ファラデーケージでしばらくは大丈夫だけど、
凱さん達は…)
Inaho: (Powerful electromagnetic waves, I see. Our Kats will be fine for the moment thanks to their Faraday Cages, but Guy and the others...)

(磁場を測定、位置は…3つ!)
Inaho: (Measuring distance of the electromagnetic field... Location...3 o’clock!)

伊奈帆
「ユキ姉、韻子!
今送った場所、電磁波の発生源を撃って!」
Inaho: Yuki, Inko! The location I’m sending you is the source of the electromagnetic waves! Shoot in that direction!

ユキ
「OK!」
Yuki: Okay!

(The Kataphraktos team fires on the electromagnetic field generator and destroy it.)

「た、助かった。
ありがとう、伊奈帆」
Guy: Y-you saved us. Thanks, Inaho.

(Back with Leo and Swan.)

「この音…。
外では何が起こっているんだ?」
Leo: That sound... What’s going on outside?

スワン
「ホワッツ!?」
Swan: What’s that!?

ボルフォッグ
「お待たせしました」
Volfogg: Pardon me for making you wait.

麗雄
「おお、ボルフォッグ!」
Leo: Ah, Volfogg!

ボルフォッグ
「救出が遅れて、申し訳ありませんが…
脱出のチャンスは、敵の注意を機動部隊が
引きつけている今しかありません」
Volfogg: I apologize that it took so long to rescue you... Now, our only chance to escape is while the mobile unit has the enemy preoccupied.

「電磁波が破られただと…?
奴らを倒し、この地底空間で大量の
ゾンダーメタルを培養する計画が…」
Pizza: The electromagnetic field was destroyed...? So much for our plan to defeat them and cultivate more Zonder Metal underground...

「だが、まだゾンダー素体用に確保した
地球人がいれば…」
Polonaise: But, so long as there are still Earthlings left to Zonderize...

Pinchernone: WRIIIIIIIIII!

プリマーダ
「あら、ペンチノン。
手ひどくやられたのね?」
Primarda: Oh my, Pinchernone. You were beaten quite badly, weren’t you?

ペンチノン
「地球人共を奪われた…。
あいつは今までのロボットと少し違う…。
紫のロボット…」
Pinchernone: The Earthlings have escaped... The purple robot... That one’s a bit different than the others...

ピッツァ
「おのれ…!」
Pizza: That bastard...!

Leo: Isolde can output over 20 teraelectronvolts. If that much energy is required to produce Zonder Metal, it’s no surprise why they would target this facility.

破壊するしかねえのか?」
Hyuuma: Hmm... Then we can’t just leave Isolde like this. Should we destroy it?

Leo: No, there’s another option. Mamoru can purify it.
