  1. Hello, I am Dave. I am leaving this note for anyone who finds it. I will be going East. If you find these notes, you may read them, and interpret them as you will. I will leave these behind as a journal of my adventures. Wish me luck.
  2. -Dave
  3. ___
  4. Day 1: 2/2/2011. 4:40 A.M.
  5. I cannot sleep, so I have taken this time to take out some paper, and write my first journal entry of this trip. So far, I have enough resources to continue without any problems. My hopes are still high, and I don’t know what I will find, but keep on reading to see what comes of my adventure.
  6. Wish me luck:
  7. -Dave
  8. ___
  9. Day 2: 2/3/2011. 3:30 P.M.
  10. I have come across a kind little duck. He kept me company, and I tore some bread for him to eat for keeping me company. Such a cute little creature. I drew a picture of him for you:
  11. Regards,
  12. Dave and Ducky.
  13. ___
  14. Day 3: 2/4/2011. 6:30 P.M.
  15. I can only hope that I can continue my journey... Something is following me. I don’t know exactly what it is, but I am concerned nonetheless. I know it is behind me. I hear it during the night as it rustles in the bushes, and sometimes I can hear it breathing and walking behind me.
  16. Fearful,
  17. -Dave
  18. ___
  19. Torn note:
  20. In an attempt to lose my pursuer, I went South. Hopefully I made it.
  21. ___
  22. Day 6: 2/8/2011. 12:00 P.M.
  23. My attempts to change direction have proven useless. Whatever it is continues to follow me. So every day that I write this note, I will change direction. read the direction at the bottom of each note to see where I went, and if I made it or not. Pray for my safety.
  24. Concerned,
  25. -Dave

  28. *somewhat torn* Day 6: 2/8/2011 2:30 P.M.
  29. I decided to recycle paper for this quick note. I am going to head South now, but I think I figured out what the creature is. I think it might be a some form of bear, or other similarly large animal.
  30. Enlightened,
  31. -Dave

  35. Happy 10th! I have decided to celebrate with a cake... Well, almost a cake. I used some provisions to fashion something a bit sweet. It tasted very nice. My little hitchhiker has started to lose my track, it seems. I longer hear it walking behind me!
  36. Celebratory,
  37. -Dave

  40. Day 12: 2/14/2011. 1:00 P.M.
  41. I have decided I need to write a bit more for these journals. I have decided they seem a bit lacking, and I am an explorer. It is unprofessional to be writing with such colloquialisms and not be writing any real discoveries down. Time to buckle down and actually get some science done.
  42. Intellectually,
  43. -Dr. Dave

  46. Day 13: 2/15/2011. 7:30 P.M.
  47. They say that 13 is an unlucky number and they are right. This was a bad day indeed. I spent a good hour walking in circles because of a stupid series of rocks. How silly! Although to keep up with my science, I have included another note with the results of a small experiment.
  48. Not a gambler,

  52. Page 2: The rock test.
  53. Procedure:
  54. 1. Find a stupid rock
  55. 2. Find another stupid rock
  56. 3. Smash stupid rocks together.
  57. 4. Repeat steps 1-3.
  58. Hypothesis:
  59. The rocks will break
  60. Conclusion: My hypothesis was correct, the rocks broke into wonderfully small pieces. This is recommended for therapy, in my own professional opinion.

  62. Day 15: 2/17/2011. 2:30 P.M.
  63. What joy! I have found a small dog! After giving it a small piece of my food, it has decided to follow me. I am training it right now to roll over and play dead. What fun it is to have a nice, loyal compainion! This will make the days easier, having someone (or something) to share them with.
  64. Slobberingly,
  65. -Dave

  68. Day 16: 2/18/2011. 4:00 P.M.
  69. Turns out this dog has a useful skill! He can catch squirrels, rabbits, and other small creatures! I will now use him to hunt. I was wondering how we’d keep up with each other, since I only have a limited food supply, but this really helps. I will leave the leftovers from tonight for you, if you are close enough behind me to enjoy them.
  70. Cheers,
  71. -Dave

  73. Day 17: 2/19/2011. 3:20 P.M.
  74. So here I was, walking along with my dog, when I realized: I haven’t told you what I decided to call him!
  75. I have named the dog Wiggles, because he has a weird, almost waddle-like walk.
  76. Waddle on,

  80. Same day, just an hour later, blah.
  81. I just got an idea! I shall want you all to leave an archive of how many of you find my notes, and when you find them. we shall keep this for future generations to see just how much you guys are real explorers! I will leave a small space for you to write this information down.
  82. Archiving,

  86. Day 20: 2/22/2011. 3:00 P.M.
  87. What ho, science! I have made a discovery of the most bizarre of anomalies. There appears to be a random patch of snow on the ground. It doesn’t look like it melts, but I will wait around for a bit to see if this remains true.
  88. Day 20 cont. 8:00 P.M.
  89. No, it doesn’t appear that this snow will melt. how strange, though. I will see if it is still here in the morning. If it is, then please tell in the note if it is still there when you read this.

  93. I have come across a cave. Of course, since I am a very brave adventurer, I have decided to explore the cave. Inside was a small pile of gold! how wondrously random and arbitrary! Oh well, I will not question providence! ONWARD WIGGLES!

  99. Dear diar-
  100. I mean I seem to have lost some of the gold from the cave. 21 in equivalent value seems to be lost. Well, finders keepers, I guess, to the lucky soul who finds them.

  106. As my journey continued, I stumbled across a small bale of hay. I knew not who made it, or why it was here, so I left it alone. I will come back if ever I find a horse, thus to feed it with the hay. My dog seemed to be interested in it, though. Perhaps he found a needle?

  111. Day 27: 3/1/2011. 8:00 A.M.
  112. Happy first day of March! I have gone and celebrated with Wiggles. He and I chose to shirk our duties. We fashioned a few party favors with the surrounding environment. Enjoy the leftovers from our party!

  117. Day 30. 3/4/2011. 12:00 P.M.
  118. I have come across a large wall. I do not know what to do with it, but I will head east until I find the end, then I will go around it. Feel free to draw on the wall.
  119. All-rounder,
  120. -Dave
  121. ___
  122. Day 33: 3/7/2011. 3:25 A.M.
  123. I am unable to sleep... I feel eyes upon me. I may not have actually lost the creature that was following me at the beginning of my voyage. Wiggles keeps growling randomly in the night. I fear for my safety once again. If you read this note, be wary, you might run into it.
  124. Watchful,
  125. -Dave
  126. ___
  127. Day... I don’t know. 3:30 P.M.
  128. I had my first encounter with the creature. I apologize for not leaving the direction I left on. It appeared just as I finished the previous note. I was lucky to escape with my life. And if you found this, I guess you followed my footprints.
  129. Good show,
  130. -Dave
  131. ___
  132. My encounter with the beast, for those who care, was quite subtle. I did not get a good look at it. However, I know now that it is much larger than me and may be larger than a bear, even. It stood a whole 4 meters tall, it looked like, and walked on all fours. It has a large mouth, with sharp teeth. I cannot imagine how strong it must be, but this might be the last note that I write. If it is not, you might find my next note to the south. I am headed that way, seeing as there seems to be some sort of civilization that way. Hopefully the natives can fill me in on this beast, and I can seek refuge.
  133. ___
  134. I have found sanctuary within the village! Fortunately, the natives speak English, albeit very primitively. I was able to relate my experiences with my pursuer to them. They call it, “Eesockwualamockatohock” and I have no idea how to spell that, so I’m only going to guess. Teerjoom (What is with these people and the unspellable names?), the one with the spear, was kind enough to give me a bow and arrow for self-defense in case the beast were to follow me. The tribe chief, the fat one, told me that the beast follows those with food, and that I can avoid it by dropping my food somewhere, and letting it feast on that. well, I can only hope that he is trying to help me, and not lead me astray. I will use a hidden passage to the south of the village to leave.
  135. Going native,
  136. -Dave
  137. ___
  138. 3:45 P.M.
  139. I am leaving my food to the west of here. Hopefully the Eesawkwholomockatoehawk (Seriously, how do you spell that?) will leave me alone now. If you find the food, then please head far away, the beast might be nearby. Best of luck to you, and to me. Well, time to go off and leave the food there, and hopefully be rid of this thing.

  142. ___
  143. Once again, I am recycling paper for this note. I have left my food by an old tree and will only hope that the beast will go for that instead of me. Please, let me know if you found the food, whether or not it is still there... I can only hope...
  144. Distantly hopeful,

  148. 1:30 P.M.
  149. I know not how long I have been wandering the wastes like this... I have very little hope that I might be able to continue on any longer. Wiggles and I have had nothing to eat for the longest time, and I don’t think that the beast decided to eat the food. I think that it is still following me because of Wiggles. I may have to leave him behind.

  155. I am very sad... I have decided to leave behind my faithful companion Wiggles... I cannot stress how much of a downer this is on my emotional state... poor Wiggles, I hardly knew thee... I can barely write. If you find him, please, take care of him. And if you instead find his remains, then bury them for me...

  161. I cannot sleep. Poor Wiggles is out there all by himself. I heard him howling in sorrow earlier, but I can only hope that it was not in pain from the creature. I am very worried for him. The poor creature... He can probably take care of himself, but I already regret my decision.

  167. I will restart my day counting with A.W., or After Wiggles. I couldn’t sleep at all last night, and it is taking its toll. I no longer hear poor Wiggles in the distance. I fear for him, but also for myself. I think that the creature is still following me. It seems that leaving the poor dog behind was for naught.

  201. I know, this is a waste of paper, but I am so happy to see Wiggles again! I’m so content to just mash his little face and hug him so close. He seems to give me puzzled looks, but I don’t care! WIGGLES! NEVER LET ME LEAVE YOU AGAIN!

  206. Day 3 W.R.
  207. Whilst Wiggles and I were walking around, we happened to hear a rustling in the bushes next to us. Frightened, we clung to each other, but we were delighted to find another dog! And this one is a girl! Wiggles and this new dog have gotten along quite well!
  208. Hopeless romantic,
  209. -Dave
  210. Went head over heels south.

  212. My two comrades have seemed to be happy together! They have helped me to find some provisions, as well! They were out sniffing about when they came across some plants that looked like turnips under the soil. They barked at them, so I figured they were trying to alert me to them. I’ve already eaten the first turnip, and will save the rest for later!
  213. Well fed,

  215. Hiked south
  216. ___
  217. The two doggies seem to be doing well. They enjoyed a nice brekfest of the turnips with me. We sat at a nice picnic table in Bermaney... We ate and were merry! Well, actually, the dogs fasted. They are very religious now, as I’ve found out. They have started wearing clothing that befits a priest. Nice little squirrels.
  218. Gleefully,

  222. Day Orange Juice
  223. So while the dogs and I were discussing politics, a happy little gnome appeared from the bushes, and promised to grant us a free trip to Bowlytaria! What a nice little gnome. We shared our turnips with him. Of course, the dogs chose instead to graze and eat some berries, but the turnips were for such a special occasion as this indeed!

  250. Day 2 since the blackout.
  251. I have found a river, and have washed my face in it, and had a drink. It seems to have helped my headache to subside. I think that I am feeling much better now. The dogs went for a nice swim, and I washed them. Time to continue east, to see what else is out there in the wastes.
  252. Thankfully youthful,

  255. Day 3 since the blackout.
  256. I have happened upon some strange form of architecture... I don’t know what to think of it, but I have written my name in the dirt below it. Hopefully this isn’t some sort of death warrant. Well, here’s to random graffiti, I guess. But what could this strange form of architecture represent? I must study it further!

  266. First day of castle exploration:
  267. I found a strange castle, and have decided to explore it. After entering I have found a small slot where I can slide out my messages. Also, the slot branches out to what seems to be the whole castle, so I can send out these letters from anywhere inside. Wish me luck!
