  1. Journey of the Gor'Mok Clan
  2.
  3. Year 6996 TH
  4.
  5. Gromm stood outside his tent and watched his clan from the hill he resided upon and observed as his people moved about their day to day business. As Warchief of the Gor'Mok clan, he had a duty to lead his people with strength, loyalty, and above all else: honor. And serve them he did for the past two decades, leading them in times of peace and war with his brand of leadership. While most orcs valued strength to lead, Gromm proved himself not only on that front, but also with a heart that truly cared for the well-being of those he ruled over. Both were qualities any orc would need in their harsh and war-ridden homeland, for strong leaders were needed in these never-ending tides of war.

  7. As Gromm looked out, he turned his head slightly to a figure that approached him from behind. He knew it was not an enemy, for none would dare to attack him on his own turf. But from the gentle footsteps he knew who it was that came forth to speak to him. He turned with a warm smile to his life-mate, Agya and held her hand gently. She was with child, their first, and who was destined to be Gromm's heir. However, Agya did not return the smile and instead looked worried. "Gromm, have you given though to the missive?"
  8.
  9. Gromm sighed as he sat on a small boulder nearby, his gaze unmoved from her: "Yes... it is noteworthy. None had heard from them in decades, and suddenly a message appears? They must have found a new home... for any who wish to travel that far."
  10.
  11. Agya meanwhile shook her head quietly as she listened. "It is a journey that would take a toll on our people, on me... on you. It is dangerous."
  12.
  13. "Since when have orcs shied away from danger?" Gromm chuckled. "Agya, this is a chance for a new home. Away from the constant dangers of here. A new start for our people. A new start for our child."
  14.
  15. She continued to look apprehensive at the prospect of traveling to distant lands, understandably so. But Gromm had given thought to it and he knew in his heart that the benefits outweighed the risks. He held out his hand to her once more. "Trust me."

  17. ...Year 7000 TH
  18.
  19. "Warchief! We've arrived!" a scout cried out as he ran to Gromm. Gromm brought the caravan to a halt as the scout approached, nearly breathless. He dismounted and gave the young orc some water. "How far from here?" he asked.
  20.
  21. "Not far! Just over the ridge!" he replied with excitement as he panted heavily. The whole caravan began to converse at the sounds of the news, for it had been years of travel and struggle for them to get to this point. Perhaps, at last, it has finally paid off for everyone.
  22.
  23. Within the hour, the caravan arrived at the end of the ridge to overlook what Gromm instantly recognized as what the missive called "home". At long last, his people would reunite with their lost cousins in these new and strange lands as well as build a new home for his own people. Agya stood by his side with their young son as they looked off into the distance with hope in their eyes and joy in their hearts.
