  1. 03:10 <Aeron>Would you mind if I asked you a few questions here rather than disrupting your conversation in the chat? if not just say so and I will leave you be.
  2. 03:14 <Gr0lem>Shoot dear, I'm sorry I took so long.
  3. 03:15 <Aeron>No no, I understand. First off, did you say you yourself are studying psychology? or just a vested interest?
  4. 03:16 <Gr0lem>I'm "taking" psychology classes from colleges in the sense that I view the material.
  5. 03:16 <Gr0lem>I plan on taking a psychology major, but I am currently stuck in high school in my juniour year.
  6. 03:16 <Aeron>So more of an Auto-didactism form of the term "study"?
  7. 03:17 <Gr0lem>Essentially.
  8. 03:18 <Gr0lem>I'm going to get what I can as far as certification goes when time allows it.
  9. 03:18 <Aeron>Next on my list, do you have a tulpa yourself? Or are you currently in the process of creating one?
  10. 03:18 <Gr0lem>Currently in the process, on my first week. Maybe 3 hours of active forcing, and some passive forcing done to compensate for lost time.
  11. 03:19 <Aeron>I also note that you seem adverse to the idea of tulpaforcing for the purposes of making an ideal "sexual" companion.
  12. 03:20 <Gr0lem>I find that it could cause complications should the subject take up a relationship in the future.
  13. 03:20 <Aeron>And if the subject already has a sufficient long term relationship before beginning? What would you think of that situation?
  14. 03:21 <Gr0lem>Then it is up to them.
  15. 03:21 <Gr0lem>(I'm watching a political debate at the same time I'm answering these.)
  16. 03:21 <Aeron>That's fine, I am working as I am asking.
  17. 03:23 <Gr0lem>Chances are, the tulpa has been given time to mature, as well as having time to explore ethics.
  18. 03:24 <Aeron>I think its rather interesting seeing your perspective, despite having vastly different tastes in personal pursuits, because I happen to enjoy your use of language.
  19. 03:24 <Gr0lem>Unfortunately, the subjects motivations are probably mirrored onto the tulpa.
  20. 03:24 <Aeron>Oh?
  21. 03:24 <Gr0lem>Well, it's already been observed.
  22. 03:25 <Gr0lem>The trend of people making 'waifu' and screwing them, I mean.
  23. 03:25 <Aeron>Oh, I see now. Sorry, I'm relatively new to the field of Tulpae...and for that matter the concept of a "waifu".
  24. 03:25 <Gr0lem>I created a channel called #tulpa.notfuckingretarded, if you want to ask real questions.
  25. 03:26 <Aeron>how do you define "real" in this context?
  26. 03:26 <Gr0lem>Well, identities are finicky things.
  27. 03:26 <Aeron>Indeed.
  28. 03:27 <Gr0lem>By creating a tulpa, one can imprint traits and habits that the subject would want someone (perhaps themselves) to have.
  29. 03:27 <Aeron>It seems to file right into that one particular hypothesis about Religious people and the "god is a tulpa" concept.
  30. 03:28 <Gr0lem>Users like Layl_(Who is probably full of shit) have told stories of "egodeath", where the host would kill themselves mentally and leave their tulpae to fend for themselves.
  31. 03:29 <Gr0lem>If there is one danger to tulpa, is that some major psychological disorders can be imprinted onto the "identity".
  32. 03:29 <Gr0lem>Now instead of one unstable ego, you have two.
  33. 03:29 <Aeron>I can see how that would be problematic.
  34. 03:30 <Gr0lem>Assuming you have basic introspective skills and a logic suit, the tulpa can be very useful in coping with your "disability"
  35. 03:30 <Aeron>I'm still not sure its healthy to call it outright DID to make one however, since on some subconcious level the Tulpa itself could be aware that it is viewed even loosely as a disorder.
  36. 03:31 <Gr0lem>Disorder is truly an ugly word, and I only associate the two because they share characteristics.
  37. 03:31 <Gr0lem>It is something other people don't have, however. It is a break from the norm.
  38. 03:31 <Aeron>Hmm, in that case perhaps it would be more fair to say it is similar to DID but likely not the same.
  39. 03:32 <Gr0lem>Perhaps.
  40. 03:33 <Aeron>I suppose its probably not something we can fully classify until someone officially studies it.
  41. 03:33 <Aeron>Of course, even then it would need to be reviewed etc etc...Scientific Process and what not.
